Luke wrapped his arms around her a little tighter as Lori began to shake truth was he was a little disturbed by the sounds coming from upstairs too but he wasn't gonna let on to the others. Cooter didn't hear a thing though he was already asleep so hadn't seen Daisy and B.L get up from their places and sneek upstairs not seen by Luke and Lori either. There was another bump this one louder than the first and a door creaking then slamming shut. It had been the two missing girls exploring with every intention of scaring Lori again but, when the door slammed shut behind them they began to scream bloody murder because it had stuck and now they couldn't get it open. Daisy, B.L: "AHHHHHHHHHH HEEEEEEEEEEELLLPPPP" Daisy: "LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKEEEEEEEEEEEEE" BL: "COOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEERR" The others downstairs heard the two girls screaming their heads off and......

Luke herded the four younger ones in front of him in behind Cooter B.L stopped in her tracks, turned to face Lori and said "Hey Lori" Lori: "what?" B.L: "boo" Lori screamed when B.L said boo because she sort of jumped at Lori as she said it. B.L fell over laughing holding her sides this was going to be fun. They all went into the house and B.L taunted Lori. "What's a matter cousin.... Afraid of your own shadow?" Lori flew at B.L about to smack her when Cooter snapped harshly "Cool it you two!" Daisy was giggling from B.L scaring Lori. They all sat down in the floor Daisy and B.L snitching some of Bo's and Dixie's candy....... B.L looked at Cooter with a scowl she was still peeved at him for making it sound like she was a little kid when he asked Lori and Luke if they had to bring their little cousins along 'trick or treating. Cooter however wasn't paying any attention to her giving him dark looks.

About a week later B.L woke up in the middle of the night feeling a sharp pain in her abdomen. Konrad slept peacefully beside her she breathed deeply and let it out slowly waiting for the pain to pass, she hadn't felt good all day and had went back to bed that morning. Another pain hit and her water broke she whispered urgently. "Konrad, Konrad" He mumbled but didn't wake up at first until B.L told him "I think the baby's coming" This however got Konrad's attention and he jumped up getting dressed or rather 'trying' to get dressed as he called the Doc managing to get the phone cord trapped between himself and his shirt. The Doc assured him there was plenty of time and that he would be there long before the baby arrived. After making sure the Doc was on the way and would meet them at the hospital. Konrad ran to Cooter's room jumping on the bed waking him explaining hurriedly. "B.L's having the baby" Cooter blinked open his eyes mumbling a sleepy "huh?" While Cooter was trying to get his foggy sleepy brain to comprehend what he'd been told Konrad had ran back to B.L helping her out to the car before going back inside grabbing her bags. By the time that was done Cooter had made it out to the car and in the driver's seat there was no way he was letting Konrad behind the wheel in his state. Konrad sat in the backseat and leaned between them so he could comfort B.L as she leaned back in the passenger seat biting her lip. "Almost there" Konrad told her as he brushed the hair out of her face. Cooter sped toward the hospital B.L sighing in relief when it came into view. Cooter pulled up at the hospital parking the car and running inside to get help. It wasn't long before doctors and nurses came out with a wheelchair helping her into it. B.L rested a hand on her stomach as Konrad held the other while the doctor's wheeled her into the hospital. True to his word the doctor was there and greeted them. "Hello Mrs. Duke, Mr. Duke, that time is it?" B.L smiled weakly and nodded breathing through another contraction. While all this was going on Cooter was out in the hallway waiting for the word to call the others. After the doctor left to check on something else since B.L wasn't quite ready yet Cooter came in to see her picking up her other hand. Cooter: "How ya feelin?" B.L looked at him like he had two heads and squeezed both men's hands as another contraction hit being the worst one so far. Three hours later the doctor came back checking agian and said Doctor: "ok ya ready to have this baby?" B.L: "I've been ready for the last three hours." Konrad and Cooter stayed nearby holding B.L's hands. Konrad teased "I think my hand's going to be broken after this. Cooter: "Your not the only one" B.L gave them both a look that could kill and said darkly "You two can complain when your in my place!" A few short minutes after it had started the room was filled with the wail of a small baby girl. Doctor: "There she is a beautiful baby girl." Cooter: "Thank goodness for that" said and made sure his hand still worked. B.L gave Cooter a teasing grin and muttered "wimp". Konrad leaned over the bed and kissed her whispering in her ear. Konrad: "Proud of ya darlin" B.L. smiled tiredly at Konrad and took the baby as the doctor handed her the bundle. Then looked back at Konrad and asked him... "Well what do you think of ya daughter?" Konrad: smiled looking at the baby "she's beautiful just like her Mama." BL: touched the baby's nose smiling said "she's got her daddy's nose." Cooter: "I just hope she ain't got her Mama's temper" he teased lightly recieving a glare from B.L and then he went to call the others. A short while later the room was filled with Dukes and Davenports all oohing and ahhing over the little baby girl even Lori came and made a fuss over the baby. Hugging B.L she said "She's beautiful cuz, so what's her name? we can't call her 'the baby' all her life." Konrad looked at B.L and then at the rest of the family announcing the baby's name. "Ya'll meet Iris Paige Duke." A few days later the newest member of the Duke clan was ready to go home and everything settled into a routine of feedings, diapers and crying. Cooter though took it all in stride not complaining when he was woke in the middle of the night by Iris's screams sometimes even being the one to get up with her so B.L. and Konrad could sleep.

It even surprised Luke, especially when Lori jumped closer to him. He wrapped his arm around Lori's waist holding her tight as they continued there walk through the cemetary. As they walked Daisy and B.L following close behind shuffling through the fallen leaves making them rustle. Luke heard this and stopped looking around but the two girls had already ducked out of sight. Lori swallowed hard she wasn't gonna be afraid she kept telling herself then all the sudden a branch came flying by that Daisy had thrown well the subsequent thud from the branch was Lori's undoing she screamed at the top of her lungs and took off running toward the 'haunted house' Luke running to catch up calling. "Lori wait it was probably just an owl or something......"

B.L jumped straight to it when Jesse picked up at the farm she told him what had happened and he was fit to be tied just like the rest of them. He told her he'd tell the others and that they'd all be at the garage the next day for the 'showdown'.....

B.L nodded to Luther's request that she just hang close to Lori. "Alright, but I'd really like to bust open Todd's head" Just then Cooter pulled up and came in the house......

B.L shook with anger her hands clenched by her sides the knuckles turning white as her nails dug into her palms. Suddenly she stomped off into the bedroom coming back with the shot gun that was kept in the closet. "I'LL KILL HIM! NOBODY hits Lor except her family and then ONLY FEMALE MEMBERS!" Konrad and Luther stood in shock for a complete minute as B.L came back toting the shotgun and making threats to Todd's life. He gently put his hand on the gun and said quietly and calmly trying to get through to her..... "No you won't ya gonna stick close to Lori and help her I don't want you hurt! Now give me the gun sweetheart." B.L relinquished her hold on the gun and continued to shake in rage. Luther put his hand on her shoulder and said...

Luther pulled up in the yard at Cooter's farm and Konrad seeing the vehicle went to the window and looked out and called to B.L who was in the bathroom.... "B honey Luther's here" B.L came out of the bathroom joining Konrad at the door as Luther stepped up on the porch she grinned and opened the door wide letting him in. Hugging him tightly as best she could with her growing stomach. "Hey Uncle Luther, what brings you by? Cooter's not here." Luther returned the hug and kissed the top of her head "Who says I'm here to see Cooter? I already seen Cooter I came to see you." B.L : "well come on in and take a load off." Luther came on in and sat down looking at Konrad and B.L with a pensive look which B.L picked up on. "What's on ya mind Uncle Luther ya seem worried" Luther: "I am sweetie about Lori....." He then proceeded to tell them.........

Cooter and Konrad was still in shock after everything was over they had watched with B.L as Luke had tore out of there in the loaner. Then they looked at B.L still a little stunned Cooter looked really stunned to him B.L was the most docile of the three Davenport girls that is until you got her riled. He opened his mouth and closed it like a fish a coupla times and finally managed to ask. "Where'd you learn them words?" B.L just looked at Cooter for a few seconds like he was the dumb as a brick before answering him sassily with a smirk. "Oh come on Cooter I'm not as sweet and innocent as I look." Before Cooter could say anything else all their attention was pulled back over to the court house as Rosco pulled up and lead a handcuffed Luke inside. Once inside Luke was booked and printed before being allowed to make his call. The phone rang and Lori answered it was Luke. Luke said hesitantly.... "Uh Lori sweetheart I'....I'm in jail"

Luke saw it and came charging out of the garage with a wrench in his hand intent on knocking the hell out of Billy Ray. Lucky for Billy Ray just then B.L and Konrad pulled up at the garage to see what was going on there both had wanted to get out of the house for a while. Konrad saw Luke heading for a guy that was running his finger down Lori's nose and looked to B.L asking "Who's that with Lori?" B.L glared murderously at the guy that had broken Lori's heart when he'd left her for his old girlfriend the night before their wedding and answered through gritted teeth. "Billy Ray, Lori's ex fiance he ran off with his old highschool flame the night before their wedding!" Just then Konrad saw what Luke had in his hand as he came toward Billy Ray and jumped out of the car to intercept his cousin before he did something that would end him up in jail. B.L got out from the other side of the car and went toward Lori and Billy Ray murder in her own eyes she was going to give Billy Ray a piece of her mind! She started screaming and cussing him about ten steps away from them... "YOU LOW DOWN DIRTY S.i*&^% WHAT IN THE NAME OF h*&^ ARE YOU DOING BACK AFTER WHAT YOU DID TO LORI?! *^%#$ (&%#@# !#%&*() ((*&$#$#" She finished by using a string of cuss words her family probably didn't even know she knew. Konrad was too busy trying to keep Luke at bay to notice his wife cussing a blue streak.

Meanwhile at Cooter's B.L stood in front of the full length mirror examining herself critically she was becoming as big as a house at least she thought so. Turning this way and that she groaned and folded her arms glaring at her own reflection muttering.... "I'm as big as a house." Konrad just happened to be in the bathroom that connected to their bedroom and came up behind her putting his arms around her waist linking his fingers on top of her growing belly. "You are not big as a house, your beautiful..." he smirked at her in the mirror and continued. "Ya could stand some meat on ya bones, ya skinny as a fence post." B.L smiled a little and leaned back against his chest she would normally smack him for his teasing but that didn't bother her at the moment because he thought she was still beautiful even if she didn't have a tiny waist anymore at the moment.

Lori smiled listening to Luke and Little Luke downstairs working on Midnight as she went back to cooking dinner. She looked down at herself as she stood there at the stove and giggled again thinking about Luke saying he wished he had a camera because she was cute standing there at stove in her big flannel shirt and bare feet. She muttered to herself amused "Bare foot and pregnant" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile at the Duke farm dinner was over and the kitchen cleaned up, Jesse looked at Dixie waiting for her to tell him what was on her mind concerning the divorce papers. Dixie started..........

Meanwhile at Cooter's, B.L was in the kitchen with Konrad they were finishing up washing the dishes. He had been helpful since coming home from the garage earlier. Cooter sat in the livingroom reading the newspaper while they finished....

After Luke went upstairs Konrad looked at his watch and decided he'd better go home and check on B.L as he made his way out the door he called back to Cooter a hand raised in farewell. "See ya at home Coot!" Cooter called back chuckling "Yeah see ya there Kon hey don't let B hit ya over the head with a frying pan as ya come in the door." Konrad ignored the teasing and left going home, when he got there he found B.L sitting on the couch looking tame as a kitten instead of the sore tailed cat she'd been that morning. He sat down beside her putting a hand on her knee, B.L looked at him and said quietly..... "I'm sorry I was so mean this morning, I shouldn't have accused you of doing anything with Lori I know better than that you'd never do that to me." Konrad leaned over and kissed her softly "It's ok must have looked pretty bad with me too drunk to stand on my own." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Back at the garage.........

Luke looked to Konrad and asked him,"Let me guess, B.L thinks Lori was tryin to take you away from her?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Konrad nodded with a pained expression on his face and told Luke "Yeah she's either been giving me looks that could kill or yellin' at me all day. I had all I could take and told her I was comin' here for a while." Luke gave him a sympathetic look and patted his shoulder saying "Sorry about that, don't worry though she'll cool down it's just the hormones talkin'." Konrad rubbed his hands over his face still suffering slightly from his hangover or maybe it was B.L's screeching the reason his head still hurt either way it was the same result he had a splitting headache. "I sure hope so or it ain't gonna be safe for me ta sleep in that house tonight she's liable ta slit my throat." Konrad was only about half joking he wasn't sure what B.L might be capable of the way she'd been ranting. Luke..........

Meanwhile at Cooter's BL was tapping her foot arms crossed giving Konrad a look so mean if looks could kill he'd drop dead right where he stood. "You leave here going out with the fellas for a few beers,that's fine. BUT then you come home drunk as a skunk that don't bother me either. I draw the line though DA**** at hanging all over my cousin not Dixie but LORI the WHORE OF HAZZARD!" Konrad held up his hands in surrender and tried to placate B.L "B it wasn't like that I was drunk and Lori was just bringing me home. I'd never step out on you." B.L: "Sure as he** didn't look so innocent to me! What I saw was you with a sh**y grin on your face hanging all over my cousin and her with her arms around you!" Konrad shook his head she wasn't gonna listen to him in this mood no matter how much he tried to tell her what she saw wasn't the way she saw it. Throwing up his hands in defeat Konrad stalked off toward B.L's car calling back to her. "I need a ride to the Boar's Nest to get my car, if that's not asking too much!" He got in the car and waited for her, in the car B.L glared at him briefly before starting the motor and pulling out for the Boar's Nest. Not a word was spoken between the two the whole ride there and when they got there Konrad got out and looked back at B.L through the window saying... "I'll be at the garage helping out if you need me" Well this statement just made B.L madder she almost had smoke coming out of her ears she was so mad. B.L snarled and growled saying non too quietly "THE GARAGE WHERE LORI IS SEE I KNEW IT SHE'S GOT YOU TOO!!" With those parting words B.L sped off back toward home and Konrad got into his own car heading the opposite direction toward town, the garage and he hoped peace and quiet without being ranted at by a pregnant woman. Pulling up at the garage Konrad noticed nobody was there except Midnight he went into the garage and got a beer out of the refriderator before getting to work on a car that was there just something to take his mind off his troubles while he waited for Cooter to get back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile upstairs Luke and Lori were.......... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Back at the farm B.L was cussing a blue streak as she scrubbed the kitchen floor by hand something she only did when she was really pissed and needed to let off some steam.

Konrad wandered into the kitchen looking like something the cat dragged in with his blood shot eyes and slightly green appearance. "I need coffee and two asprin" B.L put him a cup of coffee and two asprin on the table glaring at him. "serves you right for gettin' fallin' down drunk last night!" Konrad cringed at her loud town and muttered pitifully "Please don't yell B." B.L humphed and left him to recupreate he was sadly mistaken if he thought he'd get any sympathy from her.

After Lori left B.L shoved Cooter off to bed and made sure he got there in one piece. Then she went back for Konrad dragging him to their room toppling him into bed and pulling the cover up both men were passed out before their heads hit the pillows.

B.L sees Lori half dragging HER husband and THEIR cousin toward the house and busts out the door then spots Bo and Luke in Midgnight and yells. "ONE MAN's NOT GOOD ENOUGH YOU GOTTA STEAL MY HUSBAND AND BETH'S? AND GOOD LORD ALMIGHTY OUR COUSIN TOO BOY LORI YOU DON'T STOP AT ANYTHING DO YA?" Lori saw red at the accusation and flew in on B.L "I AIN'T BEEN DOING WHAT YOU THINK I BEEN DOING THESE FOUR ARE DRUNKER THAN SKUNKS! I WAS BRINGING THEM HOME SO THEY WOULDN'T GET IN A CAR AND KILL THEMSELVES OR SOMEONE ELSE!" B.L got closer and put her arm around Konrad's waist pulling him away from Lori he gave her a silly drunken grin and slurred. "Hiya's hoooney" B.L glared at him and said "Don't you hiya honey me your drunk!" Lori.........

Konrad sat listening to the other three men, he had met them at the Boar's Nest after they had called telling him they were having a guys night out and he'd talked B.L into letting him meet them. That hadn't been too hard they didn't make a big fuss about it when he wanted a night out with the guys or her with the girls. He didn't quite know what to say to either of his cousins about their predicaments but he kept playing B.L's words over and over in his head about not sleeping he might wake up a gelding when they'd first found out she was pregnant that was the closest he could come to comparing with either and that had only been the shock of the pregnancy. He was just as shocked by Cooter's profound wisdom as Luke had been,that just wasn't Cooter at least noone thought it was. He chugged the rest of his beer before starting on the one Daisy had just brought to the table his foggy brain just barely able to think about the fact B.L was going to kill him in the morning when she had to bring him back to get his car. They continued to sip and talk for quite sometime ..........

Lori kept on singing but had fire in her eyes Luke was going to catch hell later. He did still have enough of his senses though to dislodge the little red head filly from his knee. Cooter and Bo were staring at him with glazed eyes both well on their way to being drunk. Cooter then decided once the red head was gone to try and get Luke's mind off what looked like Lori following him. "So Bo what was it you wanted to talk about?" Bo.......

After sobering B.L looked at the men with a sassy smirk and said "You fellas ain't the only one to take somebody up there, it wasn't high school but I've been up there too" she looked pointedly at Luke grinning "AND the bed NEVER BROKE!" It was nothing for her and Konrad to go up there when they wanted some time to themselves leaving Cooter with the farm to himself, but they had never broke the bed,
