  1. Ya'll are still doing a great job. Keep up the good writing!
  2. Ha ha ha! You should license that before they use it Capt Redneck. It seems Nascar has so many changes coming all at once lately... Car of Tomorrow, Toyota, 12 in the Chase, Roush-Fenway and whatever else I can't think of at the moment. I continue to watch the cup racing though and root for my favorites because it's racing. I'm relatively new to the racing scene, I only started getting into it 3 or 4 years ago, but I love the excitement a race causes especially when you can be there at the track. So bring on the next race and you'll find me glued to the tv or, if I'm supremely lucky, sitting at the track.
  3. Happy birthday Catherine, the best lady to ever play Daisy Duke! Here's to another great year! *raises glass*
  4. I was a little disappointed that Mark Martin didn't get it, but it was a great race and a very exciting finish.
  5. Has anyone been keeping up with the recent developments in Daytona? It seems Nascar is implementing their zero tolerance for cheating. I won't go into all of the details, but here are a few of those involved. Michael Waltrip's new Toyota team has taking a beating. Last thing I heard is they think it might have been a jet fuel additive. Anyone else hear that or is it just a rumor? The Everham team has got a few scuffs too as well as Matt Kenseth with having driver points docked and crew chiefs being suspended. And now Jeff Gordon's car didn't pass the post race inspection, but he just gets slapped on the wrist. Where's the fairness in that? I'm curious what other Nascar fans think.
  6. Central Missouri didn't get a whole lot of snow, 1 to 2 inches, it was the slick stuff underneath that caused most of the problems. Course the wind blowing the snow around every which way didn't help much. After spending five minutes trying to spin my car out of its parking spot on level ground, I decided trying to make it off of the mountain I live on might not be a good idea. So instead of going to work I spent the day watching Dukes and Supernatural. My kind of day!
  7. Welcome to Hazzardnet i1076!!! Don't let shyness be the only thing stopping you from posting a fan fic. I'm probably one of the shyest people ever, but I worked up the courage to post a fic a couple of years ago. It's wonderful getting feed back on all of your hard work. And as far as your English goes, I didn't have any problems reading your post so I'm sure a fic would be fine too. Ultimately its your decision whether to post a fic or not, but here's my encouragement to give it a shot.
  8. If I'm remembering correctly the episode your thinking of was called "The Days of Shine and Roses." Something like that anyway. Uncle Jesse and Boss Hogg were having a race to prove who was the best ridge runner. Boss had Rosco put up a fake detour sign to put Uncle Jesse behind. Bo and Luke swiped the sign, got ahead of their uncle, and put the sign up to get him back on track. The part with Luke using the door is when he puts the sign back up and is running for the hidden General Lee so Uncle Jesse wouldn't see him. They didn't want Uncle Jesse to know they were interferin' with Rosco's interferin'. Does that sound about right? If I've got it wrong let me know.
  9. Okay, so my mama likes to crochet all kinds of stuff, including house shoes. Don't knock 'em now, they are very warm and comfortable. I requested a new pair recently and this is what I got. Let me know what you think...
  10. Great job! I'm enjoying reading it. Ya'll sure do bring the characters to life.
  11. Out of the top five guys in the points standings, I'm basically rooting in reverse order from where they are now. I'd love to see Jr pull it off or Denny Hamlin. It'd be pretty awesome to see a rookie grab the championship. Any of them except Jimmie Johnson. But as someone else already pointed out, it's Jimmie's race to lose. And you've got to admit that teams been running pretty darn good. One more to go!!!
  12. With only three races left in this season, who do you think will take the Championship?
  13. Happy Birthday Brian!!! And many more!
  14. Not quite as long for me. I was only introduced to the Dukes a little over a year and a half ago, when CMT started airing them. I love all of the characters, but Tom/Luke was my favorite from the first moment. Now I'm thinking I had a deprived childhood. My older brothers watched the Dukes until the fifth season when Coy and Vance made their debut, but me, I was too little to stay up that late even on weekends. I always knew I was missing things when the parents made me go to bed early.
  15. This aired in my area, central Missouri, over Labor Day weekend. It was pretty good with John singing four songs total if I remember right.
  16. Welcome to our neck of the woods. Set yerself down an' stay awhile, this is a fun place to be!
  17. I've never seen the video, but this song always reminds me of when I worked at McDonald's back in high school. That was a year of craziness and so much fun. It's amazing what people will do to entertain themselves while working at a fast food restaurant. And no, we never did anything nasty to the food or anything. It was all just stupid, goofy stuff that still gives me a chuckle now and again.
  18. I watched Tom on Tuesday too. I thought he made a very compelling bad guy. He looked so sad at the end of his very short time on screen.
  19. I just went to the Missouri State Fair last week to watch the garden tractor pull and saw a Dukes fan. He was wearing the orange 01 t-shirt and cap and had painted up his tractor like the General Lee; orange with the 01, the flag on the top and he named it the Lil General. I, of course, cheered it down the track much to the consternation on my dad, brother, and cousin who were entered in the same class.
  20. Great story! I loved every minute of reading it, even when I had tears makin' tracks down my face. Hope to see more from ya'll soon!
  21. I saw two great concerts this weekend. Thursday night I got to see Sawyer Brown for the first time. They aren't in the spotlight much so it's easy to forget how many great songs they have out there. Then on Friday night we went to see The Kentucky Headhunters and Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was so awesome! So now I've got Betty's Bein' Bad and That Smell stuck in my head. I guess it could be worse though!
  22. The shock wearing off quickly, Daisy scans the area where the tree had fallen looking for any sign of her blonde haired cousin. "Oh Uncle Jesse, ya don't think... ya don't think the tree fell on him do ya?" Daisy cries as she hides her face in his overalls. "Shhh, baby don't cry now. Bo's pretty darn smart, I'm sure he's jest on the other side of the burnin' tree now. He'll be along any minute now." Jesse tries to reassure his niece while worry adds more lines to his face. On the other side of the fiery felled tree, Bo slowly picks himself off the ground, feeling for the knot he knows is forming on the back of his head. A small piece of wood, thankfully not on fire, had flown off the tree and smacked him up side the head while he was trying to get out of the way. He looks around trying to get his bearings when he notices the fire free path where the tree had once stood. Should he chance going in to look for Luke? He could get caught inside the fire line. There really wasn't much of a choice to be made, if Luke could be somewhere in there hurt then he was going to look for him. Meanwhile, inside the raging inferno, Luke is down on all fours trying to stay out of the thick of the swirling smoke. He looks around him trying to find any escape route possible. Finally he decides the path of least resistance is off to the left. Hoping he's not going deeper into the fire, he stumbles in that direction trying to stay as low as possible.
