  1. I saw the same article about the starting times. Do you think Nascar is finally starting to listen to its fans? I've heard complaints about this for a while now. It will be nice not to have to check the paper each week to see when the race will come on. I agree about the prerace shows too. I don't watch any of them usually except Fox's. A lot of people don't like Waltrip and Hammond but I think they are simply hilarious. They liven things up and bring out good points without boring you to death. Although I could do with less of Waltrip calling Jr, Junebug. That annoys me for some reason. I guess because it makes him sound like a two year old. Just my opinion. Although I do like to see who is singing the National Anthem. It's such a hard song to sing that I like to see how they do if I know them.

  2. I think the game show will be fun to watch. It's always interesting to see people doing something that is out of their element (like the race track). lol Hopefully I won't forget by then to watch.

Kyle does seem to have calmed down a little since last year, even some since the start of this year. Maybe he is finally maturing a little. Maybe he is taking a page out of his brothers book. But if we don't have him to dislike, then who will we have to complain about? lol I have to admit, he does make things interesting even if he does make me so mad sometimes.

That's cool about Dale Sr's grandson. I might have to start watching the Nationwide races just to see how he does. You don't think Stepmom

Teresa is raising up another Earnhardt protege since Jr abandoned ship do you?

  3. I just saw where Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin, and Ryan Newman (I think) are going to be on Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? the week of Oct 26. That should be pretty good. I guess we will find out if they are smarter than fifth graders. From what I've watched of the game, I'm not. lol

  4. Brad seems to be doing well for just debuting in the Cup series this year. He has learned a lot and mixed with the talent he has I'm pretty sure we will see him up front in the future. And I'm also pretty sure he will be affliated in some way with Hendrick. If not racing for Hendrick directly, maybe with Stewart-Haas. Or maybe Jr will gain some control at DEI (if there is a DEI left) and bring him over there as there star racer. There are many possibilities and I'm excited to see how it will all come out.

  5. I think I found the article you were talking about with the two different reporters commenting on Brad K. It was an interesting read and I have to agree with the one who said that yes Brad was racing hard, but he was racing clean. He also made the point that the Chasers were beatin' and bangin' on each other. So the Chasers are allowed to race hard but no one else? There is a difference between racing hard and racing aggresively. You can race hard while racing clean. That's my opinion. lol

  6. Hey, don't worry about venting. I do it all the time, especially about my work. I have a love/hate relationship with it. lol Sometimes venting is the best way to talk out your thoughts and you can come to some type of a decision or it just makes you feel better.

It should be interesting this time in Fontana, but the spring race there bores me in most cases. I can't believe I just said that about a nascar race, but it's true. Bristol would be awesome in the Chase. And here's another thought, why couldn't they have the second Daytona race during the chase? Of course if they switched the fall Fontana and Bristol races to have Bristol in the chase there wouldn't be a place for the second Daytona race.

  7. I like Brad too. He has a lot of talent and in my opinion it's being developed the right way. Penkse isn't were I would like for him to be, but I really don't think he will be there long. I bet he ends back up with Hendrick in the future when a spot opens up. Maybe when Mark Martin really and actually retires. If he ever does... lol

  8. Are you looking forward to Fontana? I am really not. That is one track that I don't care for much. It just seems boring to me. But maybe it will be different this time with the chase being so exciting after this last weekend. Hopefully we will see some racing and no warning about aggressively racing chasers. Let them race officials, that's what they are all there to do. And that's what the fans at the track pay to see. And that's why we sit in front of our tv's each weekend. If they don't let them race, they are going to lose a lot of fans. Just my opinion.

  9. I think Gordon would have gotten Tony if he had a few more laps. Tony did use good pit strategy by only taking two tires. Gordon too. I heard that Brad K got into a dust up with Denny Hamlin sometime last week. Maybe it was in the Nationwide race, I'm not sure. But I do remember reading something about Denny Hamlin saying Brad should be shaking. Something like that anyway. Was it this that caused Nascar to give him the warning?

  10. I know... why wouldn't a kid want a Nascar party? I had some great ideas too. Anyway, I saw your message about Brad K. (I'm not even going to try to spell his last name lol) and tried to do a little research about it this afternoon. I really couldn't find much. I guess I missed something again. Of course I didn't see all of the race again. That really needs to stop. I've got to have my laundry done before Sunday afternoon for the next seven weeks for sure. I did see the interview after the race and Brad didn't seem too concerned about it. I don't understand the whole thing. Each week they win money for winning the race or placing. Each team wants part of that money to help make their cars better or whatever they do with it. lol But like you said, they all are racing to win. It shouldn't matter if they are in the chase or not.

  11. Gordon had a good race this weekend. He really rallied and did well. I was all excited at the beginning of the race because Jr was second. And he did great until that lugnut being left off. The was the beginning of the end for him. Poor guy. It just seems from week to week that he can't catch a break. I do agree with you though. Things have been getting better since he got a new crew chief. I'm hoping maybe next year will be his year so all of the naysayers that say he doesn't have any talent at all and only got into Nascar on his name will be quiet. I was surprised with Johnson too. I know he finished in the top ten, but it was just shocking to see him struggle so much with his car. That is not normal for that team. I was happy with Tony's win. It's great to see how well he's doing.

  12. I don't know what is going on with Edwards. I thought it was his pit crew there for a while. It seemed like they were always screwing him up on pit lane, just from what I remember. But now? I don't know what's up. I guess things just aren't lining up for him. A woman I work with says it's because he got married. She thinks the marriage jinxed him. lol I'm pretty sure he's out of it for the title, but I've been wrong before. Many times actually. I'm still pulling for Martin. And he's still going pretty good.

  13. Hey Garrett! You're not boring me that's for sure. I look forward to your comments after each race and all of the extra stuff we talk about. I don't get to talk about this stuff much through the week, has to wait 'til the weekend. And sometimes not even on the weekends if I don't see my brother or cousin. Kind of like this weekend. I spent most of it planning my cousins birthday party. I campaigned for a Nascar party, but he decided he would rather have a pirate party. What are you gonna do, he's going to be eight and doesn't understand the importance of this kind of decision. lol Maybe next year.

That was an awesome quote from Jimmie Johnson. Too funny! Thanks for sharing that!

  14. Sweet Home Alabama ~ Lynyrd Skynyrd (Hope I spelled that right...)
  15. Congrats B.L.! An award for a very deserving Dukes fan!
  16. You ask if I have written any stories? A few Dukes stories. I'm not the world's best author, but I try. I do have an account on fanfiction.net. I haven't posted any new stories in a long time. I have several stories started, but they never seem to get finished anymore. I have started another Halloween fic with the Dukes, but haven't posted anything yet. Well, if you want to see what I have written my pen name on that site is hotrodden. Like I said, not the best stories, but I do try.

  17. Numbers is good. I like most of the original characters. When it first came on I didn't like Colby. He was the dead beat boyfriend on the movie Where the Heart is. But I grew to love him. Charlie is awesome. I like math, but not that much. lol And Larry is a little odd, but that makes him endearing to me. lol

Yeah, I tend to get sucked into the reality shows. Although most of them have the same theme. Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Paranormal State, Ghost Adventures, Destination Truth, sometimes Most Haunted... lol Yeah, anything to do with the paranormal intrigues me. Maybe its because I was born so close to Halloween. lol I also like Deadliest Catch and Mythbusters. It's pretty sad, all of the reality shows I watch but I just can't help myself. lol

  18. Kansas would be awesome. I wouldn't have to take a week off to go. lol The one time I did go was pretty cool. We camped at a dog track. We actually went and watched the dog races one night. It was neat, but kind of cold. It was October and we were camping in a tent. There were not a lot of tents, mostly rv's. Bunch of chickens. lol

  19. There have been a lot of accidents that I have held my breath. It's always a relief to see the drivers coming out the window. It's so sad that such a great driver had to be lost before safety really came to the forefront of nascar's mind. At least as far as I know. Gordon really is having a good year. Carl isn't having a very good year, last year was better for him. I'm still waiting for him to click it all into place and get a win. And Stewart, I'm pretty impressed at how well both he and Newman have done this season. I've heard people say it's because they use Hendrick engines. But you know what? Jr has a Hendrick engine and his season wasn't the best you know. Don't get me wrong, I love Jr, but something on his team just hasn't clicked into place. Hopefully with a new crew chief he can get it together for next year.

  20. I think a lot of driver's have different foundations they have started for different things. That is great, I love seeing my sports heroes giving back to the community. And a children's hospital (which I wasn't aware of so thank you for telling me) is great. This makes me respect Gordon that much more. Are you trying to reform me to Gordon? lol just kidding I think that's great, as well as Kyle Petty's Victory Junction Gang. These kind of things are pretty close to my heart. Both my nephew and my youngest cousin were born premature. My youngest cousin was in the newborn icu for a little over two weeks. He will be a year old on the 6th and is mostly healthy now. He still has to visit the children's hospital every once in a while for his lungs though. My radio station is doing a radiothon right now raising money for the local children's hospital. Listening to all the stories, I'm on the verge of tears. It's so sad, but very heartening.

  21. I'm glad you liked the pictures. I took the ones of Jeff Gordon for my little cousin, but I'm glad they have a second purpose of being seen by you. lol I'm not sure because it is so dark in the picture, but I think that might be Gordon standing by his car. These were taken right before everyone lined up by their cars for the national anthem, prayer, and "Gentlemen, start your engines!" (I'd love to be the one to say that. I would have sooo much fun with that, or even to wave the green flag. Wouldn't that be awesome.) lol It could just be my imagination, but I like to think I got him in a picture. I guess I could lighten the picture, but I'd be disappointed if he wasn't in there. lol Anyway, I'm glad you liked the pictures. I think I have some more on my laptop, if your interested let me know and I while try to post them too.

  22. Waitin' on a Woman ~ Brad Paisley (and sometimes with Andy Griffith)
  23. Hey Garrett, I just added an album to my page. It's just a few pictures I've taken at the races. There are a couple that you might like though. :D

  24. I'm glad you got to see your favorite show. I enjoy watching Numbers. I love the cast, some of my favorite actors. However, I don't watch it very often. I guess my favorite show that isn't a reality show would have to be CSI: Las Vegas. I'm big into Survivor, it's a guilty pleasure. I did watch the new Flash Forward show. Did you see that one last Thursday night? It looks like it could be good. I hope that it doesn't get too crazy like Lost did. I used to watch that show until I missed an episode or two and couldn't catch back up. Numbers is good though. I love Charlie, he's my favorite. I read a fanfiction once that was a Numbers/Dukes crossover. Was that yours? I can't remember the author's name off the top of my head.

Well, now that I've rambled on... I hope that I didn't bore you!

  25. I read something interesting on Nascar.com. The Chicagoland Speedway is finally offering more ticket deals than just season passes. That's a good thing. I could never afford to get the season tickets even though the track was closer to home than the ones I normally go to. Maybe now I might be able to afford a weekend at that track. If only Kansas Speedway would follow in their lead. The last I checked they only offered season tickets too. Kansas is only 2 hours away from me, but I can't afford the tickets. *sigh* I also read a humorous article supposedly written from the future. It's about how all of the teams are merging and eventually all of the big teams are going to merge to form one big super team called HERSCH (I think) that includes 35 drivers. It was pretty humorous, but you have to wonder what is in store with all of these teams merging or creating engine shop partnerships.
