Then there's that...I agree 100% on this. Well I guess we can't all be right. LOL. I remember Denny's first season in Sprint. He won both races at Pocono. "The Tricky Triangle" LOL. He just better leave Chase and the rest of the Hendrick boys alone. Go pick on Kyle Busch instead...

Finally started to feel good physically but had a hard emotional hit today. I turned 64 (7 days after Bo turned 64) and it hit me that I will never again get a birthday call from my daughter. I'm sure when Father's Day comes around I'll get knocked down again since she was my only child.

  4. No better today. I hope it's only a 3 day thing like most of my colds. Congrats on paying it off Garrett. Be careful jumping over those creeks though. Most mechanics aren't as cheap as Cooter.

  5. Find something that makes you a pretty good chunk monthly for a part time job. DO NOT touch this and invest it after you have 3-6 months of your expenses in an emergency fund. from '90-2000 I made enough to pay cash for a 3 bed room 2 bathroom house and the taxes etc. When the smoke cleared I had all the money I started with plus $10,000 of my interest UNTOUCHED! I'm talking to you now in a house that was basically " Free"....I paid for it with interest and stil had " MY" money AND the 10 thousand left of interest! It took 10 HARD years though!

  6. That is a great idea. Though I live in an apartment so it has to be monthly. I use to have a part time job and still struggled, but gave that one up when I started take college classes as it would be too much.

  7. The Key is; 1. BE PATIENT! 2.BE DISCIPLINED 3. Design your budget to where you are able to save and invest a good sized chunk of money every week/month. This might HAVE TO include a part time job that you save 100% of your check. while living off what you make now. 5-10 yrs. from now you should have enough to pay cash for a house, cars etc. Also, once you have a car paid for, keep saving in a " Car Fund" ( a well hidden envelope) and when you have $1,000 saved put it in its own account in the bank. Then continue until you have 8- 10 thousand, then put that with what they give you for your car. It should work for a used car'!

Well as much as I would love the 24 car back in the championship ring and I do really like Byron. He's a clean and great driver and he's off to a great year...I really hope Chase Elliott starts visiting Victory Lane more often and to earn his second championship. Though if Chase can't do it...I'd want Byron.

Well...I am keeping up with my failed NASCAR fandom of 2024 and have yet to watch a race this year. They raced at Martinsville where the winner takes up the big grandfather clock. It marks the 40th anniversary for Hendrick Motorsports. Sadly Mr. H (Rick Hendrick) missed it after having knee surgery. Though his team pulled through as William Byron won, Kyle Larson came in second, and Chase Elliott finished third. Giving Hendrick the top three finishing spots of the race. Well y'all car 24 was back in Victory Lane after today's COTA road race. Too bad Jeff Gordon wasn't driving it. He use to be known as the road race king as he was good at them. But so is William Byron, who now drives the 24 car for Hendrick. Still great to see 24 car in Victory Lane. (Though I was hoping for the 9 car. Elliott needs to figure something out...LOL) William Byron bulls his way to dominant Cup Series victory at COTA (nascar.com) Circuit of The Americas Race Results, Lineup | Official Site Of NASCAR

I heard that tires were an issue at Bristol. Which is frustrating for everyone and it affects the driver's season and points. As someone pointed out that I saw...what if this were a Chase race or an elimination race and it all came down to tires? I really miss the old way of racing where it was about talent and the drivers and teams. I feel NASCAR has to put it's hands on everything now to take away from the driving and the mechanics...the Chase and the segments for example. Let it be about the racing as it use to be...

    Emery Potter.. :)

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but I was watching 'The Naked Gun" last night as a sort of tribute to OJ Simpson when I spotted a familiar face. When Frank Drebin goes to visit Nordberg in hospital, the nurse at reception is played by Doris Hess. Doris played Emery Potter's long-time girlfriend/wife Mabel Wooster in "People's Choice".

I do , I have a previously owned cat. Speaking of cats, the little runt beat up the vet assistant last week at her annual checkup . I was like she's just 6.5 lbs, I carry her around in one arm lol. I guess she's learned a lot during our wrestling matches .

  41. Roy looks excitedly over at Garrett and says, "See?" Before pressing the button on the CB and turns serious, "Oh hi," he stutters, "is this one of the Dukes?" "No sir," the voice confidently responds on the other end, "this here is Bill. I'm hoping you two got some great news for us. We can sure use it right now." Roy looks nervously at Garrett. "Bill. As in Bill Elliott?!" Roy yells into the CB and Garrett rolls his eyes at Roy and grabs the CB out of his hand. "Bill. This is Garrett," he finally responds into the CB, "I apologize for Roy. Seems the cat got his tongue," he rolls his eyes at Roy. "We don't have much news, but we do know where the marshmallow and his dummy are located right now. Where are you located at?" The line goes quiet for a long moment before Bill comes back with a location. "Luke says we can use anything at this point," Bill slowly finishes. "We are on our way," Garrett responds as he places the CB back down on the dashboard. "Leave it to you to get star struck when his career is on the line. You do realize that Elliott's NASCAR career is as good as over if the press get a hold of this?" Roy shrugs. "Well I find it backwards that you may be spending the next twenty years in jail in Atlanta and you're worried about some NASCAR driver's career," Roy spits back at him, "I mean, does Bill even think about that and what you are facing if and when the law catches up with you?" Garrett shrugs it off. "At least I'll be back in Atlanta. Maybe I'll thank him if I get caught," Garrett offers an ornery smile, "besides it's not about me. You'd rather the law get away with their crookedness? Bill worked his whole life to get where he is only for Boss and his greediness to ruin it. Atlanta prison will be worth it." Roy shakes his head. "If you say so. You better be right as I'm sure I'll be going down with you," Roy dryly responds as they pull up behind The General Lee and Jesse's white truck. Garrett is quick to hop out of the truck to join Bill and Roy slowly follows up to them. "Howdy ho," Roy grins at everyone in a greeting. Seeing everyone looking at them in anticipation, Garrett quickly gets to the point, "I had Roy follow the sheriff's car at a distance. He went down to those caves that Hogg hides out at. So I am assuming Hogg is there and he is meeting up with him there. Roy here was too chicken to follow him there to find out." Garrett gives a dark grin as he elbows Roy who only shakes his head and steps away. "Sorry we don't have much news other than that. They were wanting to arrest me when y'all didn't show up at the Boars Nest as we all thought you were and I had to make a quick get a way." "Who's the chicken now?" Roy throws back at him. "No. It's smart not to follow them to the caves. You'd be in jail for sure right now," Jesse firmly states, not wanting to deal with Garrett's attitude. "Where that leave us now, Luke?"

    A quick question here

I know that they have an outhouse for family tradition and an “inhouse”. I was wondering do they have a shower or just a tub that both Bo and Luke have to lift and carry into the kitchen.

  44. Good question. They never showed the indoor bathroom or Jesse's bedroom. Ray Kohn owns the knob on Jesse's bedroom from the Georgia episodes. It's not for sale! I asked.

  45. I'm not sure. I'd suppose they have a regular bath room but then....come to think of it, if they did, why would she be taking a bath in the Duke's kitchen?

Not sure what changed or if he got permission but the maintenance guy at least put his big American flag back up, seen it when I came home and gave it a salute and a Oh Hell Yeah . I haven't seen the 2 kitty's that come to my patio for food the past few days though. Wife is healing good. Driving around now. Still has another month to go before getting Dr permission to return to work. However I'm bringing work home that's easy enough for her to do so she has something to do during the days. Can't wait for spring to feel like spring though, it is cold out today. Will probably lose some of my perennials that popped up early to the hard frost the next few nights.

Well I am failing Chase Elliott and all of you as I have yet to watch a race on TV, though do keep track throughout the race from the NASCAR app and through my fantasy drivers that I pick every week. I don't know what my problem is...back with Gordon and Johnson I never missed a race and if I had to...it was a big deal and was disappointed about missing it. Now I can't get myself to sit down and watch the race. Though I do like it. Just not the same as it use to be, I guess. I went grocery shopping instead. HA. Chase Elliott did lead a lap or two...just not the lap that matters the most. HA. I checked in the first stage and at the time he was first. Then again, I looked at his position in the third stage and he was 30th. Luckily he didn't end there, either. He came home eighth. So a top ten. . .which I will take. Hopefully a top five next week. It looks like Kyle Larson spun out as well as Kyle Busch. It's Bristol Baby...as Darrell Waltrip use to say. I love Bristol. It's my favorite track/race. I've been there for Dukefest a couple of times. Anyway, Denny Hamlin walked away with the win. Bristol Motor Speedway 1 Race Results, Lineup | Official Site Of NASCAR
