  4. Hey! Where have I been?? I didn't see this! ( we've been having trouble down at the car lot!) Happy Belated Birthday Skipper! Come on by the lot sometime and I'll let you have one of my little RED buggies as a present! ( They ALL look red to me!)

For anyone not familiar with the Jensen Interceptor, Top Gear made a spoof '70s show called 'The Interceptors' a few years ago, and each of them drove an Interceptor. The title sequence is below. I notice that the bikini model at 0:19 has to put her legs between the front seats, so it looks like you're right about the rear legroom . (For some reason the still image makes it look like the video has been deleted, but the play button works)

They're a rare sight nowadays, but I have seen a few over the years, although I've never sat in one. I seem to remember that they came with a 6.3l Chrysler V8, so they're not 100% British .

I think it would be fair to say that Lance Stroll and Max Verstappen each suffered a horrendous crash in Baku. Rear tire punctures caused them to crash on the straight at around 180 and 200 mph respectively. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton's mistake at the late restart ended his 54-race streak of top-10 finishes.

  11. Okay, once the paint cures, it's time to fully detail the engine bay. I use as many photos of the real thing as possible and try to copy what I see in them. Since every one of them seems to be different, I end up just using the best possible features to scratchbuild and copy. I keep a supply of 4-5 different sizes of plastic-coated wire in varying colors, plus fine metal wire. Several details on the firewall as well as the water reservoir and horn were scratchbuilt. Master cylinder & servo housing were painted with Alclad lacquers (Stainless Steel & Titanium)

  12. Late in Season 1 when they switched to the '71 Satellite, they painted it in a yellow to match the original '73/4 Roadrunner. For the RR it had been a factory standard for that particular year, but apparently for continuity (and hoping the fans would not notice the change) they painted the new Satellite in the same shade of yellow as the Roadrunner. Thus it was a non-standard color for a '71 Plymouth of any sort. After much research, and following an online discussion, the color seems to have been "Yellow Blaze." Fortunately Scalefinishes.com, who produces factory-matching colors for a

When I first encountered boot sales it was in the UK. Maybe once a month in the summer, ordinary people would drive to a field and sell their old stuff out of the boot (trunk) of their car, normally with a folding picnic or wallpaper table to display their goods. You never knew what you'd find as the people changed each time. The one I went to on Sunday is probably about 90% traders in vans, so there's not much variety week to week. I sometimes buy bits and pieces, and it's a good place to get a huge range cheap low-end tools. I think you're right that flea market or swap meet would be yo

  15. K folks, it's been a tough end of the school year unlike any other, so I'm finally able to return to the project. Rear tires are slightly larger than the front ones, and going into my spare tires resulted in only mismatching tires of differing sizes. Fortunately I was able to source tires of the same type/appearance and apparently correct sizes from Fireball Modelworks. Fortunately they also fit the wheel rims that a fellow modeler was kind enough to send me. Then the inner wheel hubs had to be reduced in size to fit the tires; had to do this now so as to know exactl

I can believe the queues. A friend and I went to the local boot sale on Sunday (the definition of boot sale varies, but this one has indoor and outdoor stalls mainly filled with traders, but there are also a few families selling off their old stuff). It was a hot day, so I guess a lot of people had the same idea. We had a small queue to get in, but nothing prepared us for the 50 minutes it took to get out of the car park. We didn't even move for 30 minutes. I spent the afternoon back in town chatting to friends over coffee and ice cream and enjoying the sun.

    RIP Turk from "Enos"

I don't think 'Enos' was ever shown over here, and I've only ever seen a few grainy clip on YouTube, so I didn't put two and two together when I saw an article titled Samuel E Wright: Tributes paid to actor who voiced crab in The Little Mermaid a couple of days ago. It doesn't mention 'Enos', but as well as voicing Sebastian, Samuel apparently had a very successful stage career including playing Mufasa in the original Broadway production of 'The Lion King' and was part of the original Broadway cast of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' in 1971. Speaking about his part in 'The Little Mermaid' in Ent

  22. Seeing a rocking chair do that would be awesome. Any other cool stories about that house? The end of The Village is why I liked it so much so we couldn't disagree more. It certainly wasn't an ending for everybody. You either loved it or hated it...no in between. The Cabin in the Woods is the same way. I also like Johnny Depp's Dracula movie but I'll usually only watch movies like that for Halloween. I can't think of the name. I just thought of this. When you saw the rocking chair slide did you go into the basement to check for silver thieves?

  24. As I mentioned above, the Plymouth Fury is completely surrounded by polystyrene and that's within a cardboard box with no windows. I usually keep my models "mint in box", but I decided to carefully open the box just to make sure that the car was in perfect condition. The light bar is wrapped separately in the top of the box, with the car inside the main packaging. It's quite a weighty model and feels substantial, but it's not up to the detail level of some of my previous purchases. Only the front doors open, so no opening hood with engine, and no trunk. The tires are plastic rather than r

  25. Our non-essential stores only reopened yesterday, and today I treated myself to one of these. Unfortunately, the model is encased in polystyrene, so it can't be displayed in the box. They also had a 1975 Coronet in Hazzard livery, but they're not cheap over here and I couldn't justify buying both!

  29. The day is coming where owning a Dukes DVD will be a criminal offense. I know that sounds crazy but think about it. This is a trend we're seeing. Something in motion stays in motion unless acted on by another force. There is no force powerful enough to stop this trend. This political correct insanity cannot be put back in the bottle. America has spoken. The voters decided to vote liberals in and they now control everything. This will not end well for people like us.

Thanks Dixie but don't give me too much credit. Because of my deep love of the show, I have amassed a pretty fat notebook full of information about Hazzard County. I've learned to depend on the notebook more than my memory. *starts looking around frantically* Now, if I can just remember where I put my notebook.

  32. Thanks my friend! Well, the replacement engine was finished (AMT '71 Duster), a small-block to replace the kit's big-block which apparently any smooth-hooded Satellite would never have had. HOWEVER, many problems arose: 1) Drive shaft too short for the new engine (was lengthened, see previous) 2) Once installed, found it sat 'WAY too low. Had to redo the already-redone engine mounts to raise it several mm. 3) Once totally installed, found it was still much too far back. By this time I was far more committed....I would have had to lengthen the drive shaft AGAIN, and redo

  35. Cousin Capt Redneck... The reason for that is because WJ was an RCA artist and could not record for another label. Scotti Bros. made the TV series CD. So a sound alike was used on it for WJ. However, you'll find that in recent years, Jennings CD version appears on the re-release of the TV series CD as a bonus track.

Good to be here. My dad actually brought me up on the show. I was born in 81. About 4 or 5 I started to watch the dukes. By this time Bo N Luke had left for awhile to get there royalties owed. Can t remember what episode it was close to Bo N Luke return. Maybe two to 3 episodes of Coy N Vance left. A security guard was guarding 1 replica of the general. He told me and my dad that the actors were up in a tower ( Oxnard ca). I had also owned two sets of the general lee with Bo n Luke megos. Had Boss hogg and Roscoe too. I can t really say I have a favorite season of the dukes I love them all.

    Logan Lucky movie

I haven't been to the cinema for years (I've actually lost count just how many), and so like many others, this movie has passed me by. The trailer (below) looks quite fun, so I'll check it out if I get a chance. BTW, Spike, IMDb says that Channing Tatum was born in Alabama, but none of the other leads appear to be from the South, and Daniel Craig isn't even from the south of England.

A little girl was staring at me before Christmas ( she was with her grandmother, I think), at the bank and I waved my beard at her and said " Ho ho ho , if you're not good, I won't come and see you." Her grandmother leaned over to her ear and while she looked up at me, she pointed and said, " You see there? That's what I've been telling you?" LOL! Even the girls behind the counter laughed!

Thought we could post our questions here and whoever who has the answer can answer it. Wish I could say I had all the answers, but I don't. So if there is a question on here that doesn't get answered, I could try to look the answer up. Thanks Roger for the great idea!

    Misheard Lyrics

I love collecting misheard lyrics. I thought I'd start this thread for all you music fans to post your favorite misheard lyrics. Elton John is one of my favorite sources of misheard lyrics. One of the funniest has got to be the song "Bennie and the Jets". The original lyric is "She's got electric boots, a mohair suit", but it sounds like "She's got electric boobs, her mom has too". LOL. And that's how I always sing it!
