    Hazzard Square

The trio correctly identified the square as the filming location of 'The Music Man' and 'The Gilmore Girls' (both already mentioned in this thread), and then Cathy says "and then didn't they film, um, Opie, uh, what's that, not Happy Days, um ...". She never finished the sentence and never mentioned Andy Griffiths, but it's fair to assume that that's what she was referring to as Ron Howard's character was Opie Taylor (and he was in 'Happy Days'). Exteriors for "The Andy Griffith Show" were mainly filmed at the RKO 40 Acres/Desilu backlot in Culver City, about 45 minutes south of the Warner Bros' backlot. I can't find any evidence of Andy Griffith filming in Burbank. The video below shows what's now standing where the backlots were, and mentions several other shows and movies that were filmed there. It also shows the former Desilu Studios in Hollywood. There's a brief Dukes tie-in at around 12:32 when they show a still of James Best from the 1959 movie 'Verboten!'.

  3. All right. Garrett is in. It wouldn't be a Moonshine 400 without Garrett. If we don't get confirmation from MM we are just putting her in Rosco's patrol car and we'll put Hoss in an orange F1 car.

  6. True. I don't trust Meadowmufn. She's just too good of friends with the Sheriff. Speaking of which, I wonder if Rosco is going to let her drive his car in the Moonshine 400. If she does, ignore the siren. She will probably use it to trick us into slowing down.

    Hee Haw!

Anyone on here remember the show Hee Haw? Presented by Buck Owens & Roy Clarke, and featuring a great variety cast and awesome sketch comedy. Back in the good old days when the whole family could gather round the television.. I may just be 23, but discovering the show on YouTube and then finding a channel that airs reruns in Canada really got me onto it!

There was definitely more overtaking this week at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The McLarens were quickest in practice, and Oscar Piastri put his on pole for the race. Lando Norris wasn't as comfortable in his McLaren and only qualified sixth. Max Verstappen was also unhappy with his Red Bull and started seventh. Oscar led the whole race to take his fourth F1 victory. George Russell got his Mercedes up to second at the start and managed to keep the place until the end, although at the moment he's under investigation for a technical infringement. Despite at 5-second penalty for being out of position on the grid, Lando moved up from sixth to finish third. He was followed home by the two Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari had an upgraded car this weekend, but Charles said it wouldn't show much improvement in this race due to the nature of the track. Max got past the Alpine of a fast Pierre Gasly on the last lap. Haas got both of their cars home in the top ten with Esteban Ocon in eighth and Oliver Bearman in tenth. Between them in ninth was Yuki Tsunoda in the second red Bull. The race highlights are here. Only a week until the next race in Saudi Arabia.

    Bo Duke's clothes

Please stop assuming that similarities make things the same and posting them as if they are facts. A couple of days ago you claimed to have seen the Sanford and Son pickup in Hazzard Square when it was just a similar model. While the shirt that Leeman steals is a similar plain blue shirt to the one that Bo wears when they go "juking" in 'High Octane', it's also similar to a lot of other blue shirts in the show including the one worn by Luke in 'Happy Birthday, General Lee'. The shirt that Hammer steals is red plaid, but the pattern is different to the one worn by Bo in 'Happy Birthday, General Lee', and his has long sleeves while Bo's has short sleeves. Please also consider whether these observations require a new thread. You've already started a thread of Easter Eggs, and there are are probably other places this could've gone. Spreading information across multiple threads makes things harder to find and less fun for people to access.

  23. Yes - you posted the same thing six months ago in this thread (literally three posts ago on this page!), and also in 2020 in Uncle Jesse's Reviews. Luckily, Julieduke and Jessi Duke had already posted about this in 2007.

  24. Well, it's racing time here in Hazzard, but of course it's ALWAYS racing time in Hazzard Co. The Moonshine Mauler is the favored winner this year, because of it's super charged engine and Hobie is the driver! There ARE some other racers though, who plan to give Hartkins a run for his money!

  25. Let's all remember, it's the MoonShine 400 ( not like Daytona 500, Charlotte 500 etc. ) because we who started the race, can't stay sober long enough to make 500 laps! It's ok though. We have a lot of fun racing people we know and it's mainly a Hazzard County thing, so we don't have to worry about outsiders crashing the party!! I hope everyone has had a great day. Remember, it's DOH day!! * * Happy DOHD everybody! ( Fridays are always Dukes Of Hazzard Day!)

When I went years ago, it doesn't seem like it was very well advertised. I heard it at the last minute and was lucky enough to go. Makes you wonder if it's on them and it's their way of saving money? IDK. When I went, I don't think Richard Petty was there. It was just Kyle Petty and a bunch of guys I didn't know. LOL. It was neat and odd at the same time. LOL

  29. Uncle Jesse and Daisy were following behind in Dixie. Jesse saw what was going on and got on the CB. "Now boys, you have two witnesses back here that you weren't speeding. Now, don't git any ideas and take off. If his lights go on just pull on over and I'll take care of 'ol Rosco."

In yesterday's race, Lando Norris got a good start from second and challenged for the lead off the line, but had to go wide at the second corner a dropped back to sixth. Kimi Antonelli got up to second and also briefly challenged Max Verstappen for the lead. He held the place for a few laps before being passed by Oscar Piastri. Oscar then went on to take the lead at the start of lap 14. It took Lando a few more laps, but he also passed Max to take second. There were a couple of virtual safety cars for blown engines, and one of them let George Russell pit and get out ahead of Max. Behind them, Lewis Hamilton gave some very sarcastic team radio messages when his Ferrari team were slow to respond to his request to swap track position with his team mate Charles Leclerc. First he asked if they'd finished their tea break, then when he had to let Charles back in front he was given the gap to the car behind and he asked if they wanted him to let them past as well. By the end, the two McLarens had a lead of over 30 seconds ahead of George and Max in third and fourth. Williams seem to be having a resurgence (they were always one of the top teams when I started watching F1, but haven't done so well in recent years) with Alex Albon in fifth and Carlos Sainz Jr in ninth after challenging Lewis on the final lap. Oscar's third win in a row is the first time a McLaren driver has achieved that for over 25 years. You can see the race highlights here. Oscar now leads Lando by 16 points with Max another 16 back. In the Constructors' Championship, McLaren have a huge lead because Red Bull still can't get a team mate for Max who can score good points. There's now a week's break before a triple-header in Europe starting at Imola. News just breaking: The Alpine team look like they're replacing Australian rookie driver Jack Doohan with Argentinian Franco Colapinto after just six races. Jack has had mixed form so far this year with a couple of heavy crashes. Franco drove nine races for Williams last year, but also had mixed results.

  34. I was about to say, you mean your RED motor dirt bike? .....Well The Moonshine 400 is only for cars but as long as it's a RED dirt bike ( it sure looks red to me!) that will be fine! the prize for 1st place is one jug of shine or Buttermilk!

Well I've been horrible keeping up with this thread with NASCAR. I haven't watched a race in forever due to time and my TV. I should look again if I can get them or not. Last I checked, it kept cutting out and I just gave up. Plus it's getting frustrating to see Chase Elliott continually finishing mid pack. But I apologize for failing y'all... They raced at Texas today. Joey Logano won the race. Here is the final results to today's race: NASCAR Cup Series at Texas Motor Speedway Live Leaderboard, Results, & Updates

Kyle Larson was driving the #88 for Connor Zilisch in the Xfinity Series. Conner was injured in last week's Talladega race. Funnily enough, some of the F1 cars were looking different this week due to special paint schemes for Miami. Ferrari added blue and white to their traditional red for their HP sponsors, but fans didn't like it. Elsewhere, Racing Bulls went with eye-catching pink and Kick Sauber made their livery look like paint splats. In yesterday's F1 sprint race, Kimi Antonelli's first pole start didn't go well for him. Heavy rain in Miami caused a 28-minute delay before the event, and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc crashed on the way to the grid. At the start, Oscar Piastri got away well from second on the grid, and both McLarens got past Kimi at the first corner. As the track dried, the drivers started coming in for slick tires. At Max Verstappen's stop, he was released into Kimi's path. Kimi had to do another lap and Max got a 10-second penalty for an unsafe release. Just after that, a crash involving Fernando Alonso brought out the safety car. Lando Norris was exiting the pits and managed to take the lead from Oscar. Lewis Hamilton had swapped tires early, and had overtaken Max for third. The safety car peeled into the pits before the final corner, so the cars finished pretty much in line. That meant that although Max crossed the line in fourth, his penalty put him down to 17th and last of the cars still running. A few other cars also got late penalties, so Kimi eventually got 2 points for seventh. We ended up with three British drivers in the top four. You can see the highlights here. Places were switched a bit in qualifying for the main race. Max got pole ahead of Lando, with Kimi and Oscar in third and fourth. Lewis was eliminated in Q2 and starts twelfth. Qualifying highlights are here.

  37. Yes, James Cavan played both characters, although he was uncredited in 'Enos's Last Chance'. It was quite common for actors to return to Dukes as a different character (I counted over 60 occurrences), but this case was slightly unusual as the episodes were so close together. Another oddity in the casting of 'Enos's Last Chance' is that while it was about Scanlon, a master of disguise who could change identity, they used a different actor to play his salesman alter ego rather than just changing his makeup/wig.
