  1. Happy 25th Anniversary Hazzardnet! I'm so glad this great forum is still around.

  2. Congratulations to Meadowmufn on this fantastic accomplishment! What a labor of love it has been. So many ups and downs. Since MM is such a big Rosco fan I'm sure having James Best in the chat room was a huge up....and talking about his death was just the opposite. Friday will mark my 17th year here. I hadn't used a computer in my life and when my daughter said you can find anything on the internet, the first thing I asked was "Even Dukes of Hazzard stuff?" She showed me right away and when HazzardNet came up I was hooked.....still am. Best website on the internet! And of course the greatest part of it is all the friends I made. Long live Hazzard County!

I'd never even heard that anyone thought picnic was a racist word. It appears that Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner Robert McKinzie made the claim in 2019 before it was subsequently debunked by professors of language and African-American history. Yet another case of someone jumping to conclusions without all the facts. At least Cadbury's won't have have to change the name of their chocolate bar on the this side of the Atlantic!

  5. I wonder what they would do if you parked a General Lee in the driveway. They couldn't say it represented racism. The car represents The Dukes of Hazzard and there wasn't a single racist scene in 7 seasons.

The first race of the F1 season took place yesterday in Bahrain, and it was pretty much a continuation of last year. Max Verstappen took pole and went on to win the race with his Red Bull team mate in second (albeit 22 seconds back). Behind them, the Ferraris, McLarens and Mercedes were all pretty close, although Mercedes had a battery issue which meant they couldn't show their full potential. Only a week to go until the next race in Saudi Arabia.

Well y'all car 24 was back in Victory Lane after today's COTA road race. Too bad Jeff Gordon wasn't driving it. He use to be known as the road race king as he was good at them. But so is William Byron, who now drives the 24 car for Hendrick. Still great to see 24 car in Victory Lane. (Though I was hoping for the 9 car. Elliott needs to figure something out...LOL) William Byron bulls his way to dominant Cup Series victory at COTA (nascar.com) Circuit of The Americas Race Results, Lineup | Official Site Of NASCAR

I heard that tires were an issue at Bristol. Which is frustrating for everyone and it affects the driver's season and points. As someone pointed out that I saw...what if this were a Chase race or an elimination race and it all came down to tires? I really miss the old way of racing where it was about talent and the drivers and teams. I feel NASCAR has to put it's hands on everything now to take away from the driving and the mechanics...the Chase and the segments for example. Let it be about the racing as it use to be...

I just returned home from south of the Mason Dixon line (barely)...Winchester Virginia.....home of Patsy Cline. What a historic town. Went back and forth on which side they were on in the war. You sure see a lot more Confederate flags down there. Folks there are smarter than us Yankees. They know the Confederate flag represents Southern pride and not racism. If my roots weren't so deep I'd move South. I'm definitely southern at heart.

It took 2 days but I got the flower bed and patio cleaned up and took down my bird feeders. Moron lawn crew blew a lot of leaves and debris into the patio, filled 2 garbage bags. I also ran into the veteran, actually a lady, I thought it was a guy that lived in that apartment. Chatted with her a few minutes about the new rules. She said she's going to keep feeding the cats, birds and keep the flag up in the window and if they push back she's going to bring up the maintenance issues she's been trying to get fixed the past few months.

So yesterday got this ridiculous note on our door, everyone else in the complex did too, I figured we'd get something this week because the complex next door had a fire over the weekend. But imo this goes to far. There's a few people that feed the stray cats and some that put bird feeders up. So in the note it said unless those people stop they will be charged a pet fee. It doesn't end there either. Grille's are now basically banned, they didn't go so far as to say that but you have to have the grill 10 feet from any structure now instead of on your patio. In the building I live in that basically means grilling in the middle of the parking lot. Here's the best one... All curtains have to be white, any other color and you will get a lease violation fine. That's funny because I went through the last lease we signed in February and there's not a thing about only having white curtains. This note was the last straw for our next door neighbor, she told us last night that she's breaking her lease and moving out as soon as she finds another place to live as I'm sure several others are also contemplating it. I'm hoping my wife heals up fast and gets back to work so we can get the heck out of here too as this is the last straw for me too.

Yeah Larson held off Reddick thanks to NASCAR's inability to fix the 1.5 mile package. Once the 2nd car catches the lead car and is stuck in its wake there's no passing the lead car. Imo they should just make all tracks minus Daytona, Talladega and Atlanta 750+ horsepower and get rid of some of the down force. Garret you didn't miss much. It wasn't that exciting except on the restarts.

  31. I went through that when I had my Ninja. Young men in cars see you are on something that looks fast and want to challenge you. It reminds me of that Waylon quote "If any of y'all ever drive through Hazzard, well you might remember that if it's got wheels, folks tend to want to race it." (Mrs. Daisy Hogg)

Not sure what changed or if he got permission but the maintenance guy at least put his big American flag back up, seen it when I came home and gave it a salute and a Oh Hell Yeah . I haven't seen the 2 kitty's that come to my patio for food the past few days though. Wife is healing good. Driving around now. Still has another month to go before getting Dr permission to return to work. However I'm bringing work home that's easy enough for her to do so she has something to do during the days. Can't wait for spring to feel like spring though, it is cold out today. Will probably lose some of my perennials that popped up early to the hard frost the next few nights.

Well I am failing Chase Elliott and all of you as I have yet to watch a race on TV, though do keep track throughout the race from the NASCAR app and through my fantasy drivers that I pick every week. I don't know what my problem is...back with Gordon and Johnson I never missed a race and if I had to...it was a big deal and was disappointed about missing it. Now I can't get myself to sit down and watch the race. Though I do like it. Just not the same as it use to be, I guess. I went grocery shopping instead. HA. Chase Elliott did lead a lap or two...just not the lap that matters the most. HA. I checked in the first stage and at the time he was first. Then again, I looked at his position in the third stage and he was 30th. Luckily he didn't end there, either. He came home eighth. So a top ten. . .which I will take. Hopefully a top five next week. It looks like Kyle Larson spun out as well as Kyle Busch. It's Bristol Baby...as Darrell Waltrip use to say. I love Bristol. It's my favorite track/race. I've been there for Dukefest a couple of times. Anyway, Denny Hamlin walked away with the win. Bristol Motor Speedway 1 Race Results, Lineup | Official Site Of NASCAR

  40. Y'all got yer ears on??? Hey from Edinburgh, Scotland. New here! Working through the DVDs again and lovin' every second. Too much fun spotting goofs and keeping up with the inexplicable non sequential episodes. Uncle Boss. Come on Warners.... That Plymouth has had more resurrections than.... Well, anyway..... Loved the Dukes since 1980 whenever the BBC saw fit to broadcast it (I wrote twice asking WTF in 1980 5 year old vernacular upon unannounced absences from the schedule) and (after finishing Rockford) am enjoying so much again. So's my classically trained musician girlfriend. What does that tell you? Quality endures. Today's cobblers does not. Talk to me! I'm gone....

  48. I've never noticed either. I checked my DVD and the image isn't much clearer. My guess would be a member of the public keeping off the road as the cars go by, but it could've been a crew member keeping an eye on filming. It wouldn't be the only time that a crew member or equipment was visible in the show!

  50. Back at the Boar's Nest, Garrett remains crouched down behind a large leafy bush with a mouth full of parking lot dust as the law finally drives away. After they are out of sight, Garrett stands up, spitting out the dry dust and glancing around a long moment before he steps out from under the bush. As he does so, he sees Roy's truck back out and quickly pulls up alongside of him. Garrett sighs a sigh of relief before throwing open the door and climbing in. Closing the door, he turns to Roy and says, "I thought I told you to leave." Roy shrugs. "You can even ask my ma, I've never been good at listening," he grins crazily, "I bet you're glad of that now." "If you say so," Garrett dryly responds, refusing to show any emotion. "Anyway, I stayed in my truck and waited to see when y'all would come out to see if you needed any help. But lo and behold, you took the coward's way out and hid," Roy states as they leave the parking lot, "which just left me to wait until you decided to brave enough to reappear." "I ain't no coward," Garrett hisses, "it was either go to jail, fight the law and add more charges onto their fake charges of me, or to get out of there. I chose to get out." "I know, I know. I just wanted to get a rise out of you," Roy smiles smugly and looks over at Garrett, "and it worked." "Just drive," Garrett states as he sinks down into his seat. "Where to?" Roy asks. "I don't -" Garrett starts to say before he spots the sheriff's car up ahead turning off onto another dirt road, "follow the sheriff at a distance. Don't let him spot you. He spots us, we are both going to jail." "Woo hoo a car chase!" Roy laughs crazily, "A slow car chase, but hey...it's still a car chase!" Garrett eyes him before he lights up another cigarette. "I'm glad you're excited about it," he dryly states, "I'm just hoping they'll lead us to something or somewhere seeing as how we got pulled into this mess and then left out to dry." Roy nods. "Maybe Bo and Luke kidnapped Bill and Ernie!" he says with excitement in his voice as he slowly turns where the sheriff had turned, "That's why they weren't at the Boar's Nest as we had been expecting! Ooooo they gonna be in trouble!" "So will we if we get caught," Garrett states blowing out smoke, "don't let him see us." "Ten four grumpo," Roy responds, "but what you think Bo and Luke are doing to Bill and Ernie? Poor Bill and Ernie." Garrett just rolls his eyes and stares out the window.
