  1. It was just on again yesterday. He sure plays an Uncle Jesse type character, only a protective grandpa in this case. He even drives a white pick up truck....a Dodge. And the sheriff is no stranger to Hazzard County....Hoyt Axton.

It was the Spanish Grand Prix today, and Formula 1 is finally getting closer again. The three practice sessions were topped by three different drivers from three different teams, and none were Max Verstappen or Red Bull. McLaren's Lando Norris pulled out a near perfect lap to claim pole in qualifying. Mercedes' George Russell got a great start from third, and was in the lead after the first corner. It didn't take long for Max Verstappen to overtake him, and Max went on to win again, but there was plenty of close racing and overtaking behind. Pole-sitter Lando Norris was closing on Max in the final laps, but had to settle for second at the checkered flag. Lewis Hamilton got past his team mate, George Russell, to claim third place and his first podium of the year. There were discredited rumors online this week that Mercedes were sabotaging Lewis' car because he's leaving for Ferrari at the end of the season. I guess that this result proves that the rumors were untrue. You can see the 8-minute highlights here. Next weekend is Red Bull's home race in Austria.

Houses It's alleged that he never had a romantic relationship and died a virgin, so I guess that was his comeuppance for inflicting calculus upon us. On the plus side, he did design that cool Pink Floyd album cover.

  5. One of the satellite channels over here is showing M*A*S*H all day today, but tomorrow they're having a day of Murder She Wrote. It doesn't look like 'Coal Miner's Slaughter' is among the episodes they're showing, but I may watch a couple if it continues to rain. Most of our stores don't reopen until Tuesday.

  6. You’re probably right...some locations were probably utilized by more than one studio, or filming company. It’s fun to recognize certain locations, from multiple shows or movies. I just found the ‘Duke farm’ very ironic for Denver Pyle...filming there again for something else, but in a sense playing almost the same character!

  7. Here is the photo...I think I actually got this one to work! The quality and focus is not great, as I took it with my cell phone directly off the TV screen. But...is this the Duke’s farm? This was shown a few times in the MSW episode I mentioned above, in my original post. It was Denver Pyle’s character’s farm in it, and if it is the set used as the Duke farm, I just found it very ironic & kinda cool. His guest star character was very much like Uncle Jesse...and this was only a little after 3 years since “Dukes” had gone off the air (fall of 1988).

    The last 24 hours

Because they didn't want to see her like that. It's so funny I met the brother of the deceased Friday and left him a few phone numbers to someone that buys and flips houses and an estate buyer thinking it might help out down the road since he lives out of state. The friends of the deceased called me insensitive for doing that, but this was probably the only time I'm going to see him since he's from out of state and I figured I'd leave him some contacts that may come in handy in due time. Funny coming from them considering they called the brother every name in the book. And wouldn't come over and check on their friend when I contacted them last Saturday. Yesterday I took the day off. Went out to put a coat of wax on the car early in the morning and see 2 cop cars in the parking lot, then 4 detectives show up and then the coroner. One of the neighbors apparently passed away over the weekend. For the family's sake I hope it was natural causes. Btw thanks for the birthday wishes but it sucked. The plans my wife made went poof. My uncle was incessant that the home health aide needed some important papers so we dropped everything and drove all the way back home to find the papers and drop them off at my dad's only to find they left from my dad's already. So I figured it and mowed the lawns instead so I could at least get one day to sleep in on the weekend.
