I watched The Dukes Of Hazzard from the beginning. I was 9 years old when it first aired. I was so happy that the show did well in the ratings and was on for a few years.2 points -

He broke his leg in a snowboarding accident in Colorado right before the season started last year. Hopefully he is not snowboarding or skiing right now... LOL.2 points -

Hi folks, My first time on the forum in a LONG time (in fact, I've just spent two hours trying to remember which email I used so I could access my old account). One of my goals is to post MUCH more regularly this year, but for now... It's a key date for U.K. fans such as myself... as Sat 3rd March 1979 marked the first time 'The Dukes of Hazzard' was ever broadcast in the United Kingdom! My all-time favourite TV series, that shaped myself, my interests and my character in so many ways. Literally my first memories in life are sitting on my father's knee watching the series (he watched it religiously every week, on the excuse that "he (meaning me) likes it")! BBC1 showed the first four episodes in a Saturday 9 p.m. slot, before a brief break and resuming a month or so later with episode 5, "High Octane" on Mondays at 7:20 p.m. (a year or two later it would move again to it's early Saturday evening slot where the series would enjoy it's highest U.K. viewing figures). Although I'm pretty certain I would have been tucked up in bed for those first four episode (I would have been 1 year old at the time), I'm pretty certain that by some of those earliest Monday broadcasts I would have been sat on my Dad's knee watching it all. Last year I pieced together the original U.K. broadcast history and order for the series (I might share it on the forum at some point actually), just to see what was shown in what order... and to try and piece together my very earliest memories; it was actually quite therapeutic. For those of us that were there originally (even us who can barely remember it), we were very lucky. Will never see the likes of such a TV series again.1 point -
Dukes Meet Bill Elliott
Garrett Duke reacted to RogerDuke for a topic
Jesse was frustrated. He couldn't make moonshine anymore because of his agreement with the federal US of A government. He used to take a lot of pride in his skills but now he took pride in making crawdad bisque and didn't like being interrupted when in the middle of fixin' it. But he knew he had to have priorities. The boys might need him. Bill might need him. Maybe Ernie and Garrett too. He thought a moment and decided the best thing to do would be to turn the burner down to as low of heat as possible. He knew the bisque wouldn't taste as good if it cooled off to room temp and then reheated. He grabbed his red hat and headed toward the Boar's Nest. On the way he turned on his CB and went to channel 7. That is where the Dukes always went when they had trouble. Sure enough Luke answered and told him they had Bill and Ernie with them and just left for secret old still site number 4. Jesse smiled imagining the look on Boss's face when he raids his own Boar's Nest only to find Bill not there. Then his face turned angry. He knew Boss would accuse Bo and Luke of aiding a "known criminal". At least he figured Boss would label Bill that.1 point -

Hey Skipper, keep us updated on the Northeast Ohio Dukes in 2024 since you have Facebook and pay attention. It would be greatly appreciated. If he ever does another show at Yankee Lake it would be cool to go with you.1 point -

A perfect example, of what people in business, refer to as, " Minding your own business". This means you concentrate on what you do and to H#$%# with other stuff! He should've been minding his own business! It's like if you're used to selling cars and decide to go into the convenience store business....you better watch your A!! You'll start paying too much attention to one and mess up the other or mess them both up!!1 point -

I just hope Chase Elliott will have a better season than he did last year. He had surgery on his shoulder after the season ended and is going through PT, so hopefully he will be healed and ready to go by February 18th. He says he will be. Better than last year where he broke his leg and had to be out the first six races of the season...then later got benched a race for fighting or something like that. Right now, I'll just take a win...as he didn't even have that last season. How did he break his leg?1 point -

I ended up watching the first three episodes of Dukes just over a week ago, completely forgetting that the anniversary was coming. In my defense, the UK anniversary isn't until March!1 point

I check in from time to time. I just don't hang on my phone like I used to. I quit Facebook in 2020 and I quit tik tok in 2022 I think. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you limit your time on the net.1 point -

That would be nice if they could catch up with Red Bull. Unless it's your team winning, it gets tiring watching the other teams winning all the time; especially the same teams. I guess I will stop complaining as we start eleven days earlier than you. It just seems forever away. Though I wish we could just skip through February and get to March. January and February are always my longest, coldest, and hardest months. LOL. Plus still...no baseball. Unless you are pitchers and catchers who meet up mid February. As for no delays...that's kind of nice. In NASCAR, they sit around and talk about anything and everything before they finally cancel anyways. Or like Tony Stewart said once, "They talk to anyone with legs" LOL. Ol' Smoke never was shy of telling it how he sees it. I just hope Chase Elliott will have a better season than he did last year. He had surgery on his shoulder after the season ended and is going through PT, so hopefully he will be healed and ready to go by February 18th. He says he will be. WOW!! I can't believe it's been that long! I remember the big thing for us when we were in 9th-10th grade, was Friday night sitting in front of the TV, watching the show. My friends did the same! We were too young to drive and go cruising, so this was the big time for us! 40 yrs.....so hard to believe.....!! Oh, and welcome back PJ! Don't be a stranger! Long time no see!1 point -

I knew this anniversary was coming up, but had a busy weekend and forgot. I could've sworn I'd posted the listing below already on HNet, but couldn't find it. It's from British TV guide the Radio Times, and shows details of the debut of 'One Armed Bandits' (NB. I've rearranged the original layout to make it more screen-friendly). I've just noticed that they misspelled Gy's names as Guy near the bottom.1 point
