ok, i am using the team bluegroove body, so lexan as well, and the only complaint that i have is that the tamiya paint is a little sparkly, not as flat chrome as it should be, but other then that it does look like metal/chrome bumpers, also how do you make pictures small enough to upload without cropping into nothing! haha1 point -
Because this is a lexan body, I had to do things a bit differently. The orange was painted on the inside, but the chrome needed to be on the outside to have the "chrome" look. I tried using it on the inside and it doesn't look right.1 point

Looks good, one thing I did on mine that worked out pretty well for the chrome is that I masked off the parts that needed to be chrome with painters tape, including around the windows with 1mm RC masking tape, then painted everything orange with white backing, then peeled all the masking tape and sprayed tamiya chrome paint on, ps 48, I think, which looked pretty good, one thing though, it seemed to eat at the sticky part of the window masks, which made them essentially fall off as the paint was drying, I saw that and fixed it in time, but only got one or two light coats of the chrome on, not as thick as I would have liked, but I then put some silver metal duct repair tape an the inside, and it looks great. I also fabricated a mirror from a paper clip and a hole punch from a thick piece of plastic that I painted with that Chrome paint1 point -

I'll try to give a review of the Australian Grand Prix, but I missed the end, and that's when the controversy took place. Max Verstappen got pole yesterday, but after his team mate Sergio Perez crashed in the first qualifying session, he had to start from the back. That left Mercedes with a slightly surprising 2nd and 3rd, with George Russell out-qualifying Lewis Hamilton again. Both Mercedes got past Verstappen at the start, and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc went off on the first lap. It wasn't long before the first safety car of the day caused by Alex Albon's crash. A couple of the lead drivers including Russell pitted for tires, but then the race was red-flagged for the first time. That gave all the other drivers a chance to change their tires without a pit stop, and handed Hamilton the lead. Verstappen got past Hamilton to take the lead back. After making up a couple of places at the restart, Russell's engine caught fire and he had to retire. With six laps remaining, Kevin Magnussen hit the wall causing the second red flag. The restart was not dissimilar to a NASCAR restart. Ferrari's Carlos Sainz hit Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso, sending the latter to the back of the field. Behind them, a couple of cars went off and the two Alpine drivers collided with each other. That brought out the final red flag. After a half-hour delay, the stewards decided to do the restart in the order the cars were in the lap before the red flag. The final restart came with one lap to go, and the race effectively finished behind the safety car. Sainz was given a 5-second penalty for his collision with Alonso which dropped him from 4th to 12th and out of the points. Verstappen took the win, followed by Hamilton and Alonso. behind them, both McLaren's finished in the top 10 to score their first points of the season. With the Chinese Grand Prix cancelled, it's now four weeks to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Let's hope that it's decided on the track rather than in the stewards' office!1 point -

Thank you for the Welcome, I have been a Dukes fan ever since I discovered my Dad's Dukes of Hazzard slot car set like 5-7 years ago, (10-12) I think my favourite character would have to be Bo Duke, and I have been into rc cars for roughly five years, but i have only used hobby grade ones for the last 2 years, with my General Lee model being my second hobby grade RC car, which I drove for the first time today. (definitely not a winter RC car!)1 point -
Progress has been hard to come by, but I've gotten the wheel wells cut, masked and painted the body. I painted the bumpers from the inside, but then on the outside I used the protective film as a paint mask and trimmed away the area over the bumpers and the areas around the windows that should have chrome trim, then painted it with a chrome pen. Once the remainder of the film was removed, it left nice sharp lines and fairly convincing chrome trim. Body looks good. Next I cut out the lexan to fit the printed taillight assembly. This is just a rough draft print but I'm really happy with how it looks. Once the final one is printed, smoothed and painted, I think it'll look great. One problem that I'm running into is that the chrome paint isn't holding up well at all. Just handling the body to cut the lexan and install the printed parts has dulled the hell out of it. Hopefully I can touch it up when I'm done.0 points

I was out of town this weekend so didn't see any racing. Supercross dirt bikes had the weekend off so I'm glad I didn't miss anything.0 points
