  1. Thanks for reviewing all of these cartoons, Roger. I've been having a quick look through them for the first time in years since you started this thread, but I'll have to sit down and watch them in full at some point. I do feel that the cartoon was a slightly missed opportunity. It would have been good if the episodes linked together in an actual round-the-world order, and the storylines could've included a little more about the countries they visited rather than relying on national stereotypes. There's no reason that the story couldn't still be fun with a few facts scattered through the episode. It might have avoided situations like this:

  3. One thing I like about this site is that I can say something about the show or make a statement like the above and everybody gets it. Nobody has to be told what I'm talking about or referring to! LOL!

  4. This video is one of the reasons I dropped out of Mensa...I'm back now though but good grief! Look at who those of us in the group are compared to! Being in the top 2...ain't no big deal anymore!

  5. Hobie, Hoss and Spike are all correct. They could have done so much more with the cartoon series. I guess we should look at the bright side of it. At least they did 20 episodes. That's better than none. Back then, you knew a television show was in the big time whenever they made it into a cartoon. I had fun watching them again and I'm sorry my reviews are all over.......they will be a nice thing to have around here if anybody needed to look something up.

    NASCAR news

They'll be another familiar surname on the F1 grid this weekend. Pietro Fittipaldi, the grandson of two-time Formula 1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi, will be driving Romain Grosjean's Haas while Romain continues to recover from last week's crash.

    One Word Song Titles

I don't watch any soap operas, but I don't think they've introduced any real life spouses or mannequins over here. Some of the quiz and panel shows that I watch have returned with the participants separated by transparent screens which hardly show on camera.

  9. I was watching the local news tonight and got a big surprise. Before they go to the weather, my local station talks about human interest stories that are happening accross the country. When I heard them mention Conyers Georgia my ears perked up. For those of you who don't know, Conyers is one of the locations the Dukes was filmed at when the show was in its infancy during the first 5 episodes before moving to California. Anyways, a 14 month old toddler wandered into the Wells Fargo bank vault in Conyers and somehow the vault door closed. There were no adults inside and the door was on a time lock. After pumping air into the vault for the toddler to breath, eventually the little one was rescued after a relatively long period of time. The incident reminded me of another one in Hazzard County where Boss and Jesse were also stuck in a north Georgia vault with time running out. In that episode (Dukescam Scam...season 4), Cletus looked up and saw them sitting in the vault, exhausted from lack of oxygen. Clueless Cletus asked "Why is cousin Boss and Jesse Duke on the news?" LOL Thank goodness that the child was rescued by the skilled hands of the those who answered the call. It's like old Waylon always says "In Hazzard we tend to like happy endings"

  10. I read about that online this morning, Roger, and I had thought that Conyers sounded familiar and was guessing it was from the Dukes. Am very glad that they were able to rescue the toddler. What a scare!
