  3. I've lived in the same area my whole life and would never consider moving. In fact, I live less than a mile from my parents who thankfully are still kicking. If I didn't have so many deep roots here in northwestern Pennsylvania I definitely would move to as close as I could to the original Duke farm. The grandson of the guy who owned that place used to be here on the HN. I bought a few small pieces of boards from the house when they tore it down. You're right though. You have to work with what you have. Hazzard is a state of mind not a county.

  4. Oh yea, that reminds me....In this town they don't believe in using blinkers! I always say, if you want to starve to death, open a blinker shop here, you'll never sell even ONE! why would you buy something you never use. I see somebody using their blinker and say to myself, I bet they're not from here....and when I get closer to see their plate......sure enough! They're form another county or another state!

    Am I The Only One?

Yeah Tennessee is fun to drive thru Visited family in Knoxville a few times. I don't have the patience to drive there so I usually let the wife or my dad drive in Tennessee. Though I got to say Ohio drivers aren't much better. Our last trip back up from Tenn. we almost got into an accident as soon as we crossed the Ohio state line with some crazy lady doing 45mph on I-75 and decided she needed to get over 3 lanes, she just put her signal on and started moving over without even looking even though traffic was moving 55-60mph. Thank god the semi behind us had great brakes otherwise we would have been roadkill. To top it off the lady had the audacity to flip us the bird for honking at her, when my wife seen that she stuck her head out the window and went off on her stupid (bleep) when we passed her.

  6. That's right! When I go to my recliner and tell my wife, " I'm going to the Land", she knows what I mean! I'm going to the place I want to live in forever. Hazzard County! Everybody there is who I want there and I can trust everybody there, etc. etc. As far as Hooterville...it's funny on Green Acres etc. but I'd hate to live there in real life, because the place I live in, is just like Hooterville in real life and it's a living hell! People are dumb as a rock! People are nosey, and can't drive worth a d%^&N!! When you drive in this city ( Sparta Tennessee) you take your life into your own hands! You better hope your reflexes are fast! There's no such thing as stop signs and traffic lights, well there is, but they're optional. If you want to stop, you can but if you don't....don't bother! Nobody in this town knows what a rear view mirror is for! They will pull right over in front of you!

  7. Well I found an entrance off to the side and hiked over a few mountains to get some pictures. To be honest I really need to do more research and look at the maps more to figure out where I need to walk to get some good pictures of the filming locations. I took pictures of how it looks now as well as the entrances. On the map it shows an intersection of Old Rd & Lyons ranch Rd. but in fact there is no Lyons ranch Rd. It was crazy I was hiking up the mountain to see the other side when I saw some people standing on the hill top above me. Scared the crap out of me but it was just 8-10 kids playing an airsoft game. I didn't get to hike back as far as I wanted too or visit the other locations because we were in LA for family stuff, but I am planning on making another trip in the near future and hiking back farther up in Valencia oaks as well as visiting the other locations. When I get home from work this evening I will post all the pictures I took of Valencia oaks.

    Daisy's Jeep

This one seems to have taken ages. It's my own fault for starting 2 projects at once . It proved very hard getting good reference photos for this one because hardly any Jeep owners seem to keep their vehicles standard. I've tried to make it a stock CJ-7. Dixie kept changing, and trim such as wipers and mirrors disappear and reappear between shots. I've gone for a manual transmission version. I based the 'DIXIE' hood graphics on the Jeep at Cooter's because the photos I found online were much higher resolution than any screengrabs I could get - they are slightly different from the series (I think the Jeep at Cooter's is a CJ-5, not a CJ-7 - any Jeep experts can correct me if I'm wrong). The Jeep emblems have been left in place as that's how they appeared in earlier shows.

  10. there is no way for me to know that sadly, I have no idea what anyone contributed to the show, except Daisy. When I seen the show "the life and times of the dukes of hazzard", in the interview with Catherine, it was mentioned when Catherine was hired for the part of Daisy, she would have to wear matching clothes to the table cloth at the Boars nest. Catherine's answer to that was, "Daisy Duke is not wearing that...." That's when she suggest them short pants Jeans and producers of the show all excepted. So , that's the only thing I know, catherine contributed them shorts.
