    Return to Fun

There seems to be a trend here to post stuff that is a little bit edgy. That's no surprise since the world seems to have gone crazy. Since I have been part of the problem I really am not worthy of acting like Uncle Jesse and getting everybody back it line with a gruff authoritarian voice so I won't...... but I will say this: While I may be tempted in the future to post stuff that displays my anger about insane current events I will not anymore. This website is one of my favorite things in the world and I don't want to ruin it by being part of the problem. From this point forward I pledge to return to the fun that the HazzardNet is intended to be. After all, HazzardNet might be the only sane place left in cyberspace. Where would the internet be if it gets tainted and turns crazy too? I hope others join me in my pledge.

Thanks Hobie. I am a very politically active person. I've had several quotes on CNN (the old Jack Cafferty show) and CNBC, several letters in USA Today, a thousand letters in local newspapers the past 40 years and have also been active politically on other forums but there is a time and place for all that and it's not here....even though I'll agree that those fights need to be fought. As important as politics can be it can also be corrosive in certain settings and I have so much love for Hazzard County, the HazzardNet and the HN Family I would do anything to keep our family together.

https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2020/06/23/bubba-wallace-fbi-says-no-federal-hate-crime-committed-at-talladega/ You'd think someone could have been able to tell the difference between a noose and a rope used as a handle for a garage door. But it sure put Nascar in the headlines this weekend and I'm sure some extra eyes on the race yesterday .

The FBI put out a statement today after investigating. From the evidence (photos/video) they've compiled, turns out, the "noose" has been there since at least October 2019 and was actually a garage door pull. https://www.oregonlive.com/sports/2020/06/noose-found-in-bubba-wallaces-garage-was-there-since-2019-feds-say.html

  5. To Catch a Duke.....season 3 While the Duke boys are heading to Barm Lake to fish a man and woman jewelry robbery duo pull into Cooter's with a bad fan belt and $200,000 in stolen jewelry. Rosco tickets the robbers for osculatting (kissing) in public so the lady dropped the jewels in a flower bed before going into the courthouse to pay the fine. While Flash was picking up the jewery bag a call came in on the radio and Boss and Rosco found out the kissers were the robbers. The robbers then carjacked the boys and General Lee for a quick short getaway. When Flash gave Rosco the jewels Boss concluded that Rosco was in on the heist along with the Dukes and the real thieves. Boss fired Rosco and gave him a 30 second trial and made Cletus the new Sheriff. Later, while the robber duo were taking the jewels at gunpoint at the Boar's Nest, the Dukes disabled their car so they then carjacked Rosco, with Rosco acting as unwilling getaway driver. The General caught them with a little help from Rosco and then Rosco brought the jewels to Boss but he wouldn't give him his job back. The boys convinced the robbers to confess on the CB to the whole town when they scared them enough in the back seat during a General Lee thrill ride....admitting they had no accomplices. Rosco got his job back. -- This is the only episode Daisy ever missed. Only Jesse and Boss didn't miss any in 7 years. Daisy went to visit Aunt Kate a couple days. --A rare relative mention by Rosco....he has an Aunt Emma and Uncle Wilbur in Nashville --Rosco's new wrist watch plays "Georgia on my Mind"...always nice when they mentioned their season one roots. -- At the end when Jesse complained about the General's welded doors the boys joked....without him hearing....about welding his truck doors.

    The last 24 hours

I hope you had a great birthday Spike despite getting beat by your wife in putt putt. For what it's worth, my wife usually beats me too. It was nice to get rain since we've been pretty dry too. Got a lot of rain yesterday and the same so far today. I went kayaking on Lake Erie two days ago and couldn't believe how clear the water was. I've never seen it that clear. You could even see bottom if you went out real far. Maybe it was because we hadn't got a lot of rain to stir things up. The rain will help get creek levels up. When they're too low it's hard to kayak. The nice thing about the dry weather is that there hasn't been many mosquitos here.

Celebrated my birthday by going minigolf-ing. My game was way off yesterday only hit a par 2 once. My worst hole was a ten stroke lmao. The wife clobbered me, good thing she didn't want to bet like we usually do lol. We kept hearing a frog call at one hole, I ended up locating it in one of the pond's pipes that's either used to fill or clean it so I broke a stick off a nearby bush and shoved it in the hole, hope the frog climbed its way out. Even though the Nascar race wasn't at Sonoma like it usually is on or around my birthday at least it was at another favorite track of mine, Talladega. Finally had some rain here, been about 2 weeks since the last measurable rainfall. Chances of rain all week and I hope it does rain most of the days.

That last lap sure was exciting especially at the finish line. Ryan Blaney won his 2nd Talladega race by inches. What's really surprising is there was no 'big one' wreck that takes out 1/4 of the cars or more. Ricky Stenhouse jr took 2nd, Aric Almirola 3rd and JGR teammates Denny Hamlin and Erik Jones 4th and 5th. Kevin Harvick's 10th place finish keeps him at the top of point's standings. Next week is a doubleheader at Pocono, Saturday's race will be on Fox and Sunday's on FS1. Was interesting to see all the drivers and teams push Bubba Wallace's car down pit road in a show of support and solidarity .

It's been done before? In NASCAR? Found this article this morning. I love how the drivers and teams support one another in times like this. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-06-23/nascar-champions-stand-with-bubba-wallace/12383798

  11. I'll join you in your pledge! Since I have been part of the problem you've heard people say, you're either part of the solution or part of the problem.....I say....if you THINK there's a solution......you're part of the problem! Ha! Ha! ( Nihilism at its best! LOL!)

I saw that. I also just read an article that Bubba Wallace, NASCAR only African American, found a noose in his garage area. It just breaks my heart to see things turn to this. I can't even imagine how he must feel. Things like this is why people assume the flag stands for hate. I really hope they find whoever is responsible for this...

  13. He really was not in there going to the bathroom though. He was just trying to get out of the way of the crazy racers. That outhouse sure looked liked it exploded when the car hit it. Okay, my response to party is Moonshine 400.
