I happened to be a fan of Ricky Van Shelton he had some great music when he was popular and three of his cd's and about maybe four of his Cassette Tapes as well. (Oh both of these came before the evolution of the ipod now.)

I know that probably not many people on this forum is into his style of metal music, but I wish to give my condolences to "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott's family. I find it very disturbing in today's world where people are turning to violence, especially with firearms. Now, I do not wish to start any personal political views on this forum. So, I'll just leave it as that. Darrell was an amazing musician who had so many great fans who admire his ability to play. May he rest in peace.

While perusin' the interwebs tonight, I came across a song called Rosco P. Coltrane by Carl Wirkkala. I listened to the sample. I haven't been able to find the full song to listen to (for free) anywhere. Looked on YouTube. Anybody else heard this song? He does a pretty amusing Rosco impression. Khee! Listening to each track, I could tell this record was a challenge and fun for the band. =) They did covers of Beatles, The Who, Blind Faith, Willie Dixon, Ray Charles/Humble Pie, Allman Brothers, Procal Harum, Lovin’ Spoons, Jimmie Hendrix, Pretty Things, Jethro Tull, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Free and the last tune- a bluesy remake of a Styx’s classic. I got this Tanya Tucker tape from 1975,1976 and reissued in 1984 and it has this song called "Pride Of Franklin County" it's a very good song and I really the entire album as well.

I just met a guy who just retired from being a sound man in Nashville for 35 years and still lives there. He has worked with just about every star I ever loved including Charlie Daniels, Waylon Jennings and John Schneider. He told me a lot of stories and I'll see him again tomorrow to hear some more. I suppose I shouldn't repeat them though! It sure was cool to hear from someone who has worked with Waylon and Bo!

Yesterday, I was in the music and dvd exchange place called the "The Exchange" and I found Micheal Bolton's "Time, Love and Tenderness" for only one dollar and I just had to get that one. I don't know who would remember this but at one time Micheal Bolton had long hair and it look really good on him and them he cut it short.
