My dad has gotten me into these southern gospel groups. Del McCoury is one my dad really loves (and me) Any one like any other Bluegrass groups gospel or not?

A radio show I listen to has a weekly feature where they put up two versions of a song, the original and a good cover, and debate which is better; sometimes with surprising results. For example, this week's comparison was 'Tracks of my Tears' with versions by Smokey Robinson and Linda Ronstadt. It's the one from a couple of weeks ago that still has me undecided. The subject that week was Leonard Cohen's track 'Tower of Song' from his 1988 album 'I'm Your Man'. The cover version was by Tom Jones from his new album 'Spirit in the Room'. I was just watching the end of the episode where Luke love from the Marines comes and they sing "Boulder to Birmingham" together. I love that song. Then I got to thinking, they need to sell that version of the song. I would be listening to it all the time. But sadly they don't. I would love to have it. I would always be in heaven. Anyone think this too?

My son is I believe one the the biggest DOH fans ever! That is all he talks ab out, writes papers about at school, and watches on TV. Which by the way I think is a good thing! Anyway he found this song on you tube and is wanting to download it or buy it and I can't find it anywhere else. I think its called "Carrying on like we did before" I hope someone can help me!! there are many songs I listen to but there are a few that just stay in my head and I end up randomly singing them in my head. I used the search, but wasn't able to find a thread. I do love the Ramones. Are there other fans out there? I was invited by a friend to go with him to a festival, when the Ramones were playing in the early 90ties and I refused, because I wasn't much of a fan back then. It maddens me to think of the opportunity I've missed... I then saw Marky and the Ramones Revival Band at Wacken 2005... it was better then nothing and I actually really did enjoy it. R.I.P. While perusin' the interwebs tonight, I came across a song called Rosco P. Coltrane by Carl Wirkkala. I listened to the sample. I haven't been able to find the full song to listen to (for free) anywhere. Looked on YouTube. Anybody else heard this song? He does a pretty amusing Rosco impression. Khee! Hey ya'll! Just curious if anyone is a Billy Joel fan. I am and will always love his music. When I was moving out of my parents house, my dad played over and over "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)! Every time I hear it, I laugh, thinking how my dad kept playing that! I also love "The Downeastern Alexa". Anyone else?

So there's this new group out that I think y'all should know about. They're name is High Valley and its a group of three Mennonite brothers from LA! That is, La Crete, Alberta, Canada (In Alberta, we call La Crete, LA, but that's beside the point). Now relatively speaking, they are from my neck of the woods. They are really awesome guys, I've been to some local festivals that they've played at and I also got to jam with them in a guitar store (That was really sweet! I was just sittin in the sound room playin a guitar and High Valley walks in and joins me. i just heard that willie nelson is remaking some country classics on his new album so it should be a pretty interesting listen. he's definitely been around forever so it's gonna be crazy hearing him do remakes now. whats your favorite willie song? you guys should check out his new songs on itunes if you get a chance!
