I just realized that I have 999 posts and decided to mark the milestone with a special 1000th post. Now, I know many of you folks have more posts than me. The ol' Meadowmufn has been pretty busy and hasn't been able to keep up with a lot of you younguns (and a few olduns). LOL. I wanted to use this post to sincerely thank all of HazzardNet's wonderful members that have made this website home and have helped me, Brian, and MaryAnne build HNet into a thriving Dukes of Hazzard community. I've decided I'd put together an all-purpose suggestion thread here so on the rare occasion that any of us actually do any work around here, we'll have an idea of what you'd like for us to improve. So, what would y'all like to see here at HazzardNet? We do have some guidelines... 1) It has to be feasible both financially and in terms of our collective skills. 2) It has to be something that can be accomplished in a month or two. We have short attention spans. 3) I'm sure there's something else I wanted to put here, but... well, refer to #2 about the attention span. So, ask away!

Hey y'all, just wanted to let ya know that we'll be conducting maintenance on our forums tonight between 7pm and 10pm Pacific time (10pm - 1am Eastern). So the forums will be unavailable during that time. Thank y'all for your patience and you'll know as soon as we're back up and running again. A lot of folks help keep an eye on this place, and sometimes we're not recognizing them like we should. Tonight I'm givin' a big ol' HazzardNet Hollar to Val Strate, for reporting a spammer in our Forums. Val, thank ya for finding the problem and going the extra step of notifying us about it. Sal-ute ! It's good citizens like you who help keep HazzardNet safe and enjoyable for all.

We've just upgraded to a new version of the forums and it includes some great new social features. You can check out all the new features in the FAQ, here: http://www.hazzardnet.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb3_board_faq#faq_vb3_board_usage In addition, to combat spammers, we've set up new user groups. For the first 10 days to 30 days and 5 or more posts, users will have limited permissions. They cannot have an avatar, signature, or PM privileges. However, if you are honestly participating in the forum, please feel free to PM or email us and request that we promote you and give you regular permissions.

I started a new group called JhonandTom a support group for the boys. I need ideals on how to help em.I have photos as well. I met with cooter and we talked for an hour about the show and the pops.He knows I strated a group.He was thrilled that I did! I will upload some pics of cooter sometim in the next few days!

The chat room has been integrated into the new forums. Just click on the "Chat" option in the forums navbar and choose to chat in a forum web page or have the chat room pop open in another window. You can view how many people are chatting in the upper right hand corner of the forums under the Private Messages listing. Have fun chatting!

We have updated the forums to new software. We've imported the old forums, but you'll all need to recreate your avatars. There was some sort of glitch with that operation. Folks, several people have been signing up with inappropriate and destructive links in their profiles. To stop this behavior and to protect our membership, I have decided to disable website links in member profiles. I realize this is somewhat of a penalty for those of you who have websites, but it is needed to prevent our membership from getting viruses from these sites and to protect those of our members who are minors from stumbling onto some incredibly disgusting and inappropriate websites. The latest batch of new member profiles had links to sites that were riddled with viruses and trojans. Tactics like these are usually done by outsiders with no interest in sticking …

For workin' triple overtime to restore HazzardNet, after the most horrendous crash we've had in our history. You took the place from smoking ruins, to business as usual , in just about 24 hours, give r' take. You gave up your holiday, along with a good deal of sleep, to do it. Sometimes I forget - or take for granted - the technical side of this place, until somethin' goes wrong. HazzardNet has survived hostile attacks by hackers, it has survived MaryAnne, ( j/k ! ) and it has survived server disruptions and hardware failures. Howdy! HazzardNet is enjoying some great new people as we continue to grow. But with that, every now and then, comes the occassional stray bullet that's out to cause trouble. If y'all see any posts that are obnoxious and inflammatory - don't panic. Most of all - don't react and take the bait. Report it to us via a Pirvate Message or email and we'll take care of it. Without attention and reaction, the disruptive types eventually get bored and wander off, looking for other message boards to annoy.
