Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion

Greetings from Hazzard Tn. Well, my biggest predicition for the show has come true. I anticipated that the first four seasons would make it to DVD in boxsets. Now I'm wondering about the remaining years of the show and I was wondering about your thoughts as to what you imagine will happen. I'm going to jump ahead and cover the 6th and 7th seasons of the show first. I could imagine a 50/50 chance of seeing the last 2 seasons on DVD. The only drawback is that those two seasons were relatively weak in comparison to the first four. Even though both seasons produced to some unforgettable episodes, there also some sucky ones too. all my other DVDs seem to work ok except for season 3 disk 2 side B it played oncee then it neverplayed again, theres no scratches , side B just dosent play but side A does. what could be wrong? what are your problems wih the DVDs?

I was 7 years old when the show 1st aired in '79. I loved Smokey & The Bandit "original movie" but hadn't seen it & that age yet. This show was the best thing since catfish and hush-puppies for S&B fans on a weekly basis. The 1st 5 episodes are the only shows that I recognize. When they moved it to Hollywood it just went down hill from there on. I'll give them credit & 1st they tried to @ least make a effort for 1 or 2 shows for it to appear to be Georgia or a "real town" with paved roads, etc but the plot changed, from what I remember they picked up new writers, producers, etc. based on behind the scenes specials about the show. That farmer in Season 1 Deputy Dukes, who got his truck door knocked off, you know he took to long to get out and get into the Springville Hotel. That's why that happened. When he drove away and came back later, he wasted time sitting there looking both ways before even opening the door to get out. But then, he wasted more time standing there looking both ways again after getting out. He had plenty enough time to step down shut the door and make it to the hotel safely before Bo Luke and the bad guys returned again.

Greetings from Hazzard TN. Since we're talking about favorite characters on the Dukes, how about your favorite villains and bad guys. Nope. Boss Hogg and Rosco don't count. And no, Coy and Vance don't count either. But which of the villains did you like the best? You can choose a comical villain or one you felt was the most menacing. For comical villain, I liked big ole Bubba along with the guy from Laugh In in Find Loretta Lynn. My favorite most menacing villain is Judson Scott. I liked the characters he played. Very psychotic. I would have to say that my favorite fight between the Dukes and the bad guys is in "LUke's Love Story" when Bo walked into Cooter's Garage to find Turk and his buddy messing around with Amy's car. Bo squirted them with oil (or something like that) and seemed like he was having a fun time until they ganged up on him! I loved Rosco's response when he walked in and found Bo covered in oil. I was going to do one of these for every character, but there are too many good conversations... I love so many, but I'll start with one... Rosco: You're beautiful, Boss, Just beautiful. Just wondering who everybody's favourite (I'm English - we spell it that way:)) guest stars/cameos were. I mentioned in another post that mine were Henry Gibson, Charles Napier and Robert Alda. They all looked like they enjoyed playing their parts. It was also good to see Mel Tillis who was in a few films around that time including Cannonball Run, SATB 2, and Every Which Way But Loose. There were also dozens of familiar faces, mainly crooks, who have me diving for IMDb to find out where I know them from (am I the only one who does this?). Usually it turns out they were in one or more of the following: A-Team; Knight Rider; CHiPs; Fall Guy etc.

Favorite filming locations... Hazzard County #1 GA or Hazzard County #2 CA? I love both. But Hazzard County #1 GA is the best one.

Is it just me, or do the first episodes seem alot darker that the rest? I think those were better shows. It got pretty silly there at the end.
