I apologize for the several posts. I have no idea what happened there other than when I originally posted the first post the screen darkened and nothing happened so I tried again. When I refreshed the page all the other posts were there. I tried to delete them and could only find how to edit them. How dumb can I be? Well y'all just found out. :)

Well that was cool, we all postponed our last break to 3pm to see it. It was neat seeing the ring. The birds all got quiet and the frogs started going off, then when it started getting lighter again the opposite happened.

My brother in law started a GoFundMe if anyone cares to give hime a helping hand.

Disregard the GoFundMe link. He found a buy her pay here dealer that rolled the $5k into a loan for another car. He just jumped from one deep pool to one where his head is barely above water but whatever. I offered advice and he didn't care to listen. He called last night boasting that it has more options than our cars, So it also has 4x the miles ours do. Heck add the miles of both the wife's and my car's and they still wouldn't come close to his new car. I wish him good luck with it though and hopefully he can keep his head above water on it.

Feeling sick. Sore throat. Stuffed up. Achey and sore all over. Exhausted.

Buttermilk ain't fixin' it and I'm out of Hobie's Finest. Time to fire up Black Tillie Hobie.

I sure am sorry to hear about that cousin! Sounds like my way of curing everything won't help........as I take a big gulp out my Milwaukee's Best Ice beer can ( I do love Ice beer!).  It may be time to go see Doc Appleby!! :)  GET WELL SOON! ( and keep us up on it!)

Exactly my problem. But I don't see any way around it.

The Key is; 1. BE PATIENT! 2.BE DISCIPLINED 3. Design your budget to where you are able to save and invest a good sized chunk of money every week/month. This might HAVE TO  include a part time job that you save 100% of your check. while living off what you make now. 5-10 yrs. from now you should have enough to pay cash for a house, cars etc.

Also, once you have a car paid for, keep saving in a " Car Fund" ( a well hidden envelope)  and when you have $1,000 saved put it in its own account in the bank. Then continue until you have 8- 10 thousand, then put that with what they give you for your car. It should work for a used car'!

That is a great idea. Though I live in an apartment so it has to be monthly. I use to have a part time job and still struggled, but gave that one up when I started take college classes as it would be too much.

Find something that  makes you a pretty good chunk monthly for a part time job. DO NOT touch this and invest it after you have 3-6 months of your expenses in an emergency fund.  from '90-2000 I made enough to pay cash for a 3 bed room 2 bathroom house and the taxes etc. When the smoke cleared I had all the money I started with plus $10,000 of my interest UNTOUCHED! I'm talking to you now in a house that was basically " Free"....I paid for it with interest and stil had " MY" money AND the 10 thousand left of interest!  It took 10 HARD years though!

Oh no. I hope you get feeling better soon, Roger. That's no fun.

No better today. I hope it's only a 3 day thing like most of my colds. Congrats on paying it off Garrett. Be careful jumping over those creeks though. Most mechanics aren't as cheap as Cooter.

Thank you for the congratulations, but I still have a year of car payments left unless I find money laying around. I wish I could just pay it off and be done with it (the payments. Not the car.. I love my car. LOL) .

Congratulations Hobie on being able to do that with your house. That is a lot of work and it had paid off. Great planning and that had to have felt good.

Get feeling better, Roger. Colds are not fun!
