MaryAnne Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Simon MacCorkindale, known better by Dukes fans as the conman that assumed the identity of cousin Gaylord Duke, as passed away. He was 58.http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/16/arts/television/16maccorkindale.htmlIt was nice of the NY Times to note Mr. MacCorkindale's appearance on the Dukes of Hazzard. Unforutnately they refer to the "Duke brothers" as opposed to the Duke cousins. Quote
HossC Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Sad news. I read about his death this morning, but the BBC report only mentioned the 5 years he spent on their medical drama 'Casualty'. I got as far as remembering him in 'Manimal', but had completely forgotten it was him who played Gaylord Duke until I saw the pictures. His other work is listed here:http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0531546/ Quote
RogerDuke Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 That's so sad. I think that he might be the only person on the Dukes who's name was Roger. As I recall his real name was Roger Blevins....well, not real name but "real" name since Roger was only pretending to be Gaylord. Does anybody know why he passed on so early in life? RIP Quote

pendragon1980 Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 That's a shame, he was one of my favorite guests on the show. Quote
Jami Lee Hogg Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 He was one cool guest on the show. I just loved his voice. There was something about it. Quote
LoriDavenport Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 I rather enjoyed his performance not to mention I enjoy British people in general. I remember him from The '76 movie version of Romeo and Juliet, he played Paris. May you rest in peace and God Bless your family, Simon. Quote

Hobie Hartkins Posted February 19, 2022 Report Posted February 19, 2022 Maybe I shouldn't say this, esp. since he's gone now, but on that episode of the Dukes, with the mustache, he reminds me of John Holmes...lol! Skipper Duke 1 Quote
HossC Posted February 21, 2022 Report Posted February 21, 2022 I'm glad it was just the mustache! Skipper Duke and Hobie Hartkins 2 Quote
