Candy rested in his arms, shaking horribly as she cuddled into him.

Bo meanwhile was gathering up the evidence he knew Rosco wouldn't look for seeing as he practically had an excuse to send both him and Luke down for a long time if he couldn't find any and it wouldn't be unlike Boss to try and fix it so Luke and Bo could be blaimed.

Luke rubbed her arms gently with his hands. "It's gonna be alright....I think maybe you should get checked out by a doc too sweetheart," he added worriedly.

At those words, Candy instantly got to her feet and started heading back shakily for the car.

"Lori...we gotta get to Lori..."

Luke nodded. "Alright...alright...we'll go Darlin.." He led her to the General Lee and lifted her in. "Let's go Bo."

Bo nodded and slid into the driver's seat, powering up the engine as Luke sat in the back with Candy and sped away to the hospital.

Luke held Candy in his arms all the way there, gently rubbing Candy's back through the blue plaid flannel.

Candy stayed rested against him, shuddering every so often.

It wasn't long before they finally reached the hospital and Luke, Bo and Candy headed inside, being shown to a waiting room where they were told a doctor would be in to see them shortly.

Luke held Candy close, speaking gently to her as he would to a frightened child. "Sgonna be alright sweetheart....I promise."

The Doctor walked out of the operating room slowly, the nurse that escorted the three to the waiting room having notified the doctor of their arrival. He looked to them with a serious expression as he said in a grave tone of voice.

"The nurse informs me you're here about Miss Davenport? Im sorry to say that she is in a very critical condition...she has lost a lot of blood and there is severe internal damage...we're doing all that we can to save her right now..."

He let the words sink in to the occupants of the room. When he got no questions or answers of any kind for that matter, he continued...

"It is a deep gunshot wound to the stomach and we are prepping her for surgery as we speak...all we need is a family member's consent in case the worst should happen."

Bo swallowed a little, seeing Candy dissolve into fresh tears into Luke's shoulder and also seeing Luke a little more preoccupied with comforting her than actually answering the doctor's unanswered question.

"Uh...yeah Cooter Davenport....he'd...he'd be the one..."

Luke held Candy closer, wanting nothing more than to help her. "Lori's tough...she'll be alright..."

The Doctor looked to Bo when he spoke and nodded with a small smile,

"Do you think you could call him for us and get him down here. I need to go back into the surgery room and check on things."

Candy hugged into him, burying her face into his shoulder softly with a shudder.

Bo nodded softly and headed out the waiting room, not only to do that but also glad to give Candy and Luke some space.

Luke hugged her close rubbing her back gently. "Hey...hey...shhhh"

Candy was still shaking and was still pale, shaking her head as she mumbled fretfully.

"I can't get that image out of my head Luke..."

"It's ok...it's over now...." He knew all about having images in your head from Nam. The trick is to distract yourself...until you can deal with it...." he said kissing her gently.

Candy jumped a little in surprise as he kissed her but she soon returned the kiss, still a little shaky.

"It's ok...it is..." he answered reassuringly, as he kissed her again. "You just need to calm down..." he said rubbing her shoulders a little as he kissed away her tears.

Candy sighed and leant against him, swallowing.

"It's so hard..."

"I know, " sighed Luke. "I know it is sweetheart.

Cooter was over working on Rosco's car, again when he heard the phone ring, who looked at it and began to wonder about Lori. He walked over and answered with an eager voice,

"Cooter's Garage, Cooter speaking??"

Bo swallowed as he heard Cooter's eager voice, hating to ruin his perfect sounding day already.

"H...Hey Cooter it's...it's Bo..."

Cooter looked down and swallowed really hard trying not to sound as worried as he was.

"Howdy there Bo, uh... whats up?"

Cooter knew something was wrong but wasn't sure what.

Bo sighed and decided to just come out with it.

"Cooter...it's Lori...she's in the hospital and...its pretty bad....they need you here right away..."

Cooter squeezed his eyes closed and slammed his fist down on the table. He plopped down in the seat and rubbed his head.

"A..alright Bo, when i get there, i wanna know what's going on, im on my way."
