July 20, 20224 yr Following on from Stingray: Puppets Stingray was a British children's science fiction television series from the 1960s which was filmed using puppets or marionettes. The Opel GT is a great looking car with headlights that flip over. They did one a few years ago on 'Wheeler Dealers' - there's a clip here for anyone unfamiliar with this car. Opel was a European subsidiary of General Motors for many years. They sold cars in the US through Buick dealers under the Opel name from 1958-1975. Since then, many other Opels have been sold in the US, rebadged as models such as the Saturn Astra, 5th & 6th generation Buick Regals and the Cadillac Catera. There's more info on Wikipedia. It seems that General Motors sold Opel (and UK sister company, Vauxhall) to the French PSA Group in 2017. In 2021, the PSA Group merged with Italian-American group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) under the name Stellantis. Opels are still sold in Ireland and the rest of Europe, although they are rebadged as Vauxhalls in the UK.
