What are you listening to???

Listening to

by Jack Johnson, his commentary about the lack of good television and the proliferation of violence on tv. And I think that's why most of us still watch Dukes!

You win

It's your show, now

So what's it gonna be

'Cause people

Will tune in

How many train wrecks do we need to see?

Before we lose touch of

We thought this was low

It's bad getting worse so

[Chorus:]

Where'd all the good people go?

I've been changing channels

I don't see them on the TV shows

Where'd all the good people go?

We got heaps and heaps of what we sow

They got this and that and

With a rattle a tat

Testing one two,

Now what you gonna do?

Bad news, misused,

Got too much to lose

Gimme some truth

Now whose side are we on?

Whatever you say

Turn on the boob tube

I'm in the mood to obey

So lead me astray by the way, now

Where'd all the good people go?

I've been changing channels

I don't see them on the TV shows

Where'd all the good people go?

We got heaps and heaps of what we sow

Sitting round feeling far away

So far away but I can feel the debris

Can you feel it?

You interrupt me from a friendly conversation

To tell me how great its all gonna be

You might notice some hesitation

'Cause it's important to you, it's not important to me

Way down by the edge of your reasons

It's beginning to show

And all I really wanna know is...

Where'd all the good people go?

I've been changing channels

I don't see them on the TV shows

Where'd all the good people go?

We got heaps and heaps of what we sow

They got this and that

With a rattle a tat

Testing one, two

Now what you gonna do?

Bad news, misused, give me some truth

You got too much to lose

Whose side are we on today, anyway?

OK, whatever you say.

Wrong and resolute but in the mood to obey

Station to station desensitizing the nation

Going, going, gone.

Ever since I met you girl, you been on my brain

I can’t think of nothing else but you all night and day

It’s like I got a first class seat up on Ozzy’s train

It’s driving me insane

5-1-5-0, somebody call the po-po

I’m goin’ crazy, thinkin’ ‘bout you baby

5-1-5-0, just this side of loco

I’m goin’ crazy, think I love you baby

I gotta get your number girl, I gotta call you up

I gotta get you ridin’ shotgun in my truck

This little bit of you I’ve got, it ain’t good enough

Yeah, you got me all messed up

5-1-5-0, somebody call the po-po

I’m goin’ crazy, thinkin’ ‘bout you baby

5-1-5-0, just this side of loco

I’m goin’ crazy, think I love you baby

Cause I, ain’t never felt like this, no

And I, I just need one kiss, from you

And I’ll be good as new

If I don’t get some of your sweet lovin’ no tellin’ what I might do

5-1-5-0, somebody call the po-po

Think I’m losin’ my mind, girl

5-1-5-0, just this side of loco

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

5-1-5-0, somebody call the po-po

I’m goin’ crazy, thinkin’ ‘bout you baby

5-1-5-0, spinnin’ my head like a yo-yo

I’m goin’ crazy, think I love you baby

But to save yoll the heap...5-1-5-0 is police :deputy: code for crazy person on the loose :spin: I'm just a 5-1-5-0 tonight...think I drank to much coffee! (I just love these little smilies! =D)

Awrighty...gotz a different song stuck in me head, it's a heck of a good thang too! And I ain't goin against Rodney neither! :D

Family reunion, 4th of July

It's been three years since I've seen them

Now I remember why

Aunt Charlotte's at the door

Big smile on her face

The first thing she says to me

Looks like you've gained some weight

You only get that kind of honesty

From family

Well Uncle Joe's getting plastered

Aunt Martha's getting mad

Same old cousin Doug

Same old jokes, same old bad

Mama has to keep reminding me

Son, they're family

A few new babies, the same old crazies

I've known 'em my whole life

And they still amaze me

I didn't choose 'em

But I'd hate to loose 'em

Cause you gotta love 'em

They're family

Cousin Linda showed up

With her new sweetheart

I had to laugh when daddy whispered

Fifth time might be the charm

And there's her brother Lester

In the city, just flew in

All the way from way out yonder

We're still not sure about him

But different as we are it's good to be

a family

A few new babies, the same old crazies

I've known 'em my whole life

And they still amaze me

I didn't choose 'em

Wouldn't wanna lose 'em

But you gotta love 'em

Man, they're family

When mama said the blessing

She was fightin back the tears

Cause the last time we were all together

Grandpa was here

And She knew how proud he'd be

And how much he'd love to see

A few new babies, the same old crazies

I've known 'em my whole life

And they still amaze me

Don't get to choose 'em

But you hate to lose 'em

You gotta love 'em

Cause they're your family

Family reunion, 4th of July

It's been three years since I've seen them

Now I remember why

Rodney Atkins ~ Family <3 <3

Now ain't we all just family? Yes...yes we are!

This guy is in the Sprinsteen, Dylan, Neil Young league. A rodeo bullrider who was a drifter making music. Here are a couple of older articles that essentially are mini bios of him.

Oh yeah he also won the Oscar for Best Song from a movie in 2010 ffor "The Weary kind" from the movie Crazy Heart. He did it without a major label record contract.

Hmmm...Sprinteen:roll:...OOOH! Eric Church, he sings alright...

To this day when I hear that song, I see you standing there on that lawn

Discount shades, store bought tan, flip-flops and cut off jeans

Somewhere between that setting sun, I'm On Fire and Born To Run

You looked at me and I was done, we were just getting started

I was singing to you, you were singing to me

I was so alive, never been more free

Fired up my daddy's lighter and we sang oh

Stayed there 'til they forced us out

We took the long way to your house

And I can still hear the sound

Of you saying don't go

When I think about you

I think about 17

I think about my old Jeep

I think about the stars in the sky

Funny how a melody sounds like a memory

Like a soundtrack to a July Saturday night

Springsteen

I bumped in to you by happenstance

You probably wouldn't even know who I am

But if I whispered your name, I bet there'd still be a spark

Back when I was gasoline and this old tattoo had brand new ink

And we didn't care what your momma would think 'bout your name on my arm

Baby is it spring or is it summer

The guitar sound or the beat of the drummer

You hear sometimes late at night on your radio

Even though you're a million miles away

When you hear Born In The USA

Do you relive those glory days from so long ago

When you think about me

Do you think about 17

Do you think about my old Jeep

Think about the stars in the sky

Funny how a melody sounds like a memory

Like a soundtrack to a July Saturday night

Springsteen, Springsteen

Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Woah-oh-oh-oh woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Funny how a melody sounds like a memory

Like a soundtrack to a July Saturday night

Springsteen, Springsteen

Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Woah-oh-oh-oh woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Woah-oh-oh-oh woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Oh, heres a song that I danced pretty crazy to, but also made a reference to Bo! <3 Dierks Bentley - What was I thinkin

Well, Becky was a beauty from south Alabama.

Her Daddy had a heart like a nine pound hammer.

Think he even did a little time in the slammer.

What was I thinkin'?

She snuck out one night an' met me by the front gate,

Her Daddy came out a-wavin' that 12-guage

We tore out the drive, he peppered my tailgate.

What was I thinkin'?

Oh, I knew there'd be hell to pay.

But that crossed my mind a little too late.

'Cause I was thinkin' 'bout a little white tank top,

Sittin' right there in the middle by me.

An' I was thinkin' 'bout a long kiss,

Man, just gotta get goin', where the night might lead.

I know what I was feelin',

But what was I thinkin'?

What was I thinkin'?

By the County line, the cops were nippin' on our heels,

Pulled off the road an' kicked it in four-wheel.

Shut off the lights an' tore through a cornfield.

What was I thinkin'?

At the other side, she was hollerin': "Faster."

Took a dirt road, had the radio blastin'.

Hit the honky-tonk for a little close dancin'.

When a mountain of a man with a "Born To Kill" tattoo,

Tried to cut in, I knocked out his front tooth.

We ran outside, hood slidin' like Bo Duke.

What was I thinkin'?

I finally for her home at a half past too late

Daddy's in a long chair sittin' on the driveway,

Put it in park as he started my way.

What was I thinkin'?

Oh, what was I thinkin'?

Oh, what was I thinkin'?

Then she gave a "Come an' get me grin."

An' like a bullet, we were gone again.

'Cause I was thinkin' 'bout a little white tank top,

Sittin' right there in the middle by me.

An' I was thinkin' 'bout a long kiss,

Man, just gotta get goin' where the night might lead.

I know what I was feelin',

But what was I thinkin'?

What was I thinkin'?

I know what I was feelin', but what was I thinkin'?

Tiz listenin ta I shot the Sheriff....LOL...burt idk who it was from!

I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot the deputy.

I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot the deputy.

All around in my home town

They're trying to track me down.

They say they want to bring me in guilty

For the killing of a deputy,

For the life of a deputy.

But I say:

I shot the sheriff, but I swear it was in self-defense.

I shot the sheriff, and they say it is a capital offense.

Sheriff john brown always hated me;

For what I don't know.

Every time that I plant a seed

He said, kill it before it grows.

He said, kill it before it grows.

I say:

I shot the sheriff, but I swear it was in self defense.

I shot the sheriff, but I swear it was in self defense.

Freedom came my way one day

And I started out of town.

All of a sudden I see sheriff john brown

Aiming to shoot me down.

So I shot, I shot him down.

I say:

I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot the deputy.

I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot the deputy.

Reflexes got the better of me

And what is to be must be.

Every day the bucket goes to the well,

But one day the bottom will drop out,

Yes, one day the bottom will drop out.

But I say:

I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot no deputy, oh no.

I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot no deputy, oh no.

...but got to say I absolutely LOVE this video. Once you see it, bet y'all can't guess why? LOL.

I guessed correctly :).

For me the star of the video was the beautiful 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS convertible (it should've had more screen time), although the Corvettes were quite nice too. The car is from Rick Hendrick's private collection and was custom built with a 6.2 liter supercharged LS9 V8 engine producing over 600 horsepower (no wonder the tires were smoking!). It can do a quarter mile in 12 seconds flat :).

The original was Bob Marley but it's been done by Eric Clapton too! Right now I'm listening to Journey and their " Arrival" album with their here then/gone now lead vocalist Steve Augeri. ( I like him better than the one they have now!)

The sun is shining and the World Cup is in full swing, so I thought the time was right for some Brazilian music. England are probably going home after the group stages, but Roth's team (the Netherlands) and Carlos-Argentino's team (Argentina) are leading their groups, and the USA are sitting in second ahead of Sunday's game against Portugal.

If the weather's nice where you are, open the windows and enjoy ...
