Seems the rebel flag has been forgotten by the media for a while till a few 'pot stirrers' that call them selves journalists took it upon themselves to make it an issue during Darlinton's "throwback" race. According to one of the stories I've read over the past week Nascar or NBC had security go around and instruct people to remove their rebel flags when the cars were on the track.

Weird. Usually our August is mid 60's or higher nights with mid 80's+ degree days with quite a few 90+ degrees but this august has been more like Spring than Summer. 2 days this week we had highs just 69 degrees and the night lows dipped into the high 40's. Usually in summer we have 3 weeks worth of 90 degree days but this year and last year we barely had five 90 degree days for the whole summer. Just hope we don't have a 3rd in a row winter were we break low temperature records, lost so many plants the past few years due to the deep long frost.

That was a tough moment to watch. I knew it wasn't good when all the guys swarmed Justin's car after Sage got out of his. The aerokits were good idea to differentiate the cars from Honda & Chevy but man what a mess they cause when parts break off. I'd be happy if they just went back to the same aerokit for all the cars. And if they don't add a canopy for next season they at least should add a high windscreen to divert debris away from drivers heads.

I seen one at a car show a couple years ago. Looked great 20 feet away but up close you'd notice that it needed a new paint job bad, paint was chipping, peeling and cracking. Interior needed some work too. Someone had a for sale sign in it for $25,000 .

I was just at a little Antiques and Miscellaneous shop yesterday that had miniature gas pumps I'm guessing from an old train set. Not sure what scale they were they looked to be about 6 inches in height maybe smaller, both were mobil 1's though with the round top. Awesome work on the diorama, can almost see the Duke boys climbing down from the roof as they did several times during one season while trying to avoid the eyes of Roscoe and the Deputy's.

About time a different team won just might see if I can find a replay of the race on youtube this week when I have some free time.

He knew the risk when he got behind the wheel of the Nationwide car just like Tony Stewart knew the risks when he broke his leg in a Sprint car wreck in 2013. But why should Kyle Busch get a waiver for missing 11 races? Missing 5 races should be the limit if even that many, anymore too bad you don't get a waiver. Brain France is turning Nascar into the biggest Motorsport Joke, even worse than the F1 Mercedes follow the leader Races.

He should not have been given a waiver to begin with. If he wins the championship this year it will just prove how big a joke Nascar is since the Chase for the Championship started. "You can sit out 1/3 of the season and still win the championship"

Would not be surprised to see this show make the national news rounds due to the General Lee and the flag.

On the subject of commercials someone told me the new Autotrader Duke Boys ads have been re-cut to not show the flag on the top of the General, I haven't seen them on tv recently though then again I tend to turn the channel when commercials start lol.

I see the P.C. types are now going after bands that use or have used the confederate battle flag during concerts or on shirts & cd's. Rolling Stone has now thrown their measly two cents into the discussion asking the bands to do away with the 'racist' symbol. others are asking for a GM automobile boycott till GM distances itself from Kid Rock. Thank God Kid Rock still has a pair and told the flag protesters where they can stick it.
