  1. More... The frame is starting to stay in its bent shape after it's unscrewed from the mold It's a long, slow process but hopefully it'll be worth it!! For any carpenters out there I'm using 14 layers of plywood in total, glued together and screwed into the frame. I'm only about 160 pounds,so I shouldn't have any problems riding it...hopefully
  2. More... Support beams for the mold
  3. Hey y'all!! I'm doing woodwork for the final two years of school, and for the practical side of the subject I'm building...a bike!! I'm going to post pictures of it as I go along, and hopefully I can have it all together by march... Laying out a template to bend the wood around This is only a mock up
  4. Hey y'all!!Here's a couple of pictures of "Ivan"
  5. Whoops left a post in the wrong thread!! Here are a couple of pictures of the Rosco bike,I've finally finished sanding the old red paint off...mostly The standard police bicycle Starting the sanding Still sanding... Still sanding...
  6. Thanks for the name suggestions guys and gals!!But none of them seemed quite right for this ancient racer. Don't ask me where I got it from (I'm still trying to figure that out myself) but I'm gonna call it Ivan. The guy I got it from wasn't called Ivan, and he didnt tell me that the bike was called Ivan. But Ivan just seems to suit this bike. There's just something about its styling, its small sleek front wheel and chunky off road back wheel, its old gear shift and brakes system or maybe it's racing handlebars with duct tape grips. Whatever the reason, he's called Ivan. Even I amaze myself sometimes with the stuff I come up with, and this is no different. Unlike every other bike I own, I'm going to leave Ivan the way he is. Its not that I'm afraid I might damage him or anything, its just that he's survived for 40 years unmodified,so why should I be the straw that breaks the camels back? Ill only work on him when I have to.
  7. Hey y'all. Most of you probably know all about Wayne Wooten and the 1991 Warner Brothers deal with the leftover chargers. While I was researching this topic I came across something that I haven't been able to verify. The story goes that when Dukes was cancelled Tom Sarmento and his crew left Valencia in a matter of days, leaving behind cars in various states of disrepair (one charger was even left on jackstands with its wheels off!!) And one car they only bought was left behind as well. Apparently it was a blue 1969 charger with a white vinyl top (i think it was white anyway). Its interior had been dyed light tan and the side markers and reverse lights had been filled in. Apparently this car was in the process of replacing Wayne's close up Lee,because it was becoming "raggedy". I've seen a few black and white pictures from a newspaper article about the '91 deal, and there's definately a stock charger on one of the car carriers. Another version of the story about the blue charger is that it was a General and after Dukes was repainted for a new series that never ran. Personally I don't believe this,as the car was already 16 years old,and wouldn't be as easy to replace as a newer car. And despite searching far and wide, I was never able to find the name of the new series,or any actors that were in it. So can someone verify these stories for me? Thanks y'all
  8. Welcome to HazzardNet RT22306 y'all may notice we do things a little different here!!
  9. I finish school on the 21st so Ill have a few lazy days before christmas. We usually visit family on Christmas Eve and because my brother and sister are 11 and 14 we usually load up on junkfood and spend the night (usually in my bedroom) trying to stay awake We're having my moms parents over for christmas day,and then for New Years Eve we're having my moms brothers, sisters, parents, nieces, nephews and aunt over for a party. And somewhere in all that I'm hoping to finish my Rosco bike.

  11. Thanks Hoss, I've found this one on the irish ebay http://www.ebay.ie/itm/HAZZARD-COUNTY-Dukes-Hazzard-Sheriff-Dept-Patch-/200601647020?pt=UK_Collectables_Memorabila_RL&hash=item2eb4ca37ac#ht_3297wt_779
  12. Hey y'all I was working on my General Lee bike earlier, and my mom came out and said "I think your a little obsessed with the Dukes of Hazzard". I thought about that statement, and realized that I'm fairly obsessed. I've got all seven seasons, the 2 reunion DVD's,some of the episodes on video, some recorded from years ago when it was on over here,I had a General Lee bike which was stolen and replaced,I'm in the process of making a Rosco bike,my bedroom is orange and covered in Dukes posters and pictures.Sorrell Booke inspired me to become an actor (I'll never be as good as him, that's impossible) and I'd love to be a stuntman thanks to Paul Baxley...the list goes on and on. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd probably be a 9. So my question to you is How Big is Your Dukes Obsession?
  13. Hey y'all. Progress has been pretty slow at the moment, but I've found a few accessories for the Rosco bike A rear bag rack http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001NGF4W4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A2M4DGTQ2HB1D4 A rear rack bag http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003TJ9TII/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&m=A2JBFS5W3CD0IU A siren and loudspeaker combo http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006FTO826/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&m=A2JBFS5W3CD0IU A lights and siren combo http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ODG7XA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A1E9LS1BX5ETEG And a 3 pack of locks http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NMAAEQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER I was also considering getting the Hazzard County Police patches and stitching them onto the rear rack bag. Does anyone make them?Or know where I could get them? Thanks y'all
  14. As far as I know its only done in Ireland. I don't know what the circumstances surrounding each bike is,but I can't image them putting a bike at every single death location. In Ireland we're much simpler with car crash deaths. Its usually just a simple white wooden cross with flowers and occasionally a candle in a jar. There's one road near our holiday home (Hoss you might know it) on the outskirts of Sligo town that's known locally as Death Road, because its twists, turns, blind spots and hills cause dozens of serious crashes every year. On a brighter note, does anyone have any name ideas for the bike? I was thinking of a girls name because its a woman's bike. Thanks y'all
  15. As far as I remember (i haven't seen the first 5 in a while) he has the mole in the first 5 episodes.
  16. Boss Hogg's mole was only a prop,it disappears by season 2 when the show became more child friendly and Sorrell and Jimmy became more comical
  17. I've been searching for a classic bicycle for a while now,and whilst cycling home last night I saw one in a dumpster. I went up to the house and offered them €5 for it,and went off to take it out and bring it home. Today I got my first proper look at it... All i can say is this beautiful pre 1970's ladies racer had been ruined by presumably a drunk ape with a can of white spraypaint. They didn't bother to tape off any areas, they just sprayed any available spot. My first thoughts were that this was going to be a ghostbike (a bike that's sprayed white and left in a spot where cyclists have been killed, but after a few phone calls it turns out that the organization that organises thr ghostbikes only use modern bikes),but now it just seems to be a poorly painted vintage racer. Anyway that's my rant over, ill post pictures when i get a chance!!
  18. If my memory serves me right Flash was in the car at the time,so it was from season 3 onwards. And I think the yellow tow truck was used,so from season 3 to around the time of the Veluzat/Warner Brothers change over midway through season 4.
  19. The most recognizable ranch is probably Valencia Oaks Movie Ranch (now Lyons Canyon Ranch) mainly because it was used for 3 seasons and is still largely intact. Unfortunately all the sets were torn down in the early 90's,and the lake has long since dried up,but most of the roads are still there.
  20. Its from the start of Brotherly Love,in season 6. The camera pans from this to the kitchen door,at which point Jud (Luke's brother) walks in.

    Dukes of Quahog

Hey y'all. I've been looking for this episode and finally found it!! To any Family Guy fans y'all are gonna love this.Dukes and Family Guy together!! What could be better? Anyway here's the link to the Family Guy episode entitled To Love and Die in Dixie!! http://watchberry.com/family-guy-season-3-episode-12-to-love-and-die-in-dixie/?sr=1 Enjoy!!
  22. Hey y'all I just got off the phone with my local police station and the irish police headquarters. I was worried that the bike might cause trouble with the local police bicycles and result in me getting the bike confiscated or into some legal issue. But good news good news!! It turns out that the police superintendent of my local station doesn't mind in the slightest (he even asked if I'd built a General Lee and planned on reinacting Dukes chases!!hahaha) So its full steam ahead for the Rosco bike!! I painted a couple of coats of paint stripper on it this evening, and can hopefully start painting it next weekend.(Schools really busy at the moment with exams coming up so I can only work on weekends) I found a siren and light kit on amazon, and also found a trunk bag to mount on the rear rack (I'm also toying with the idea of getting a few Hazzard County patches and stitching them into the bag) I'm also considering wiring an ignition system to the lights and siren kit, because if i don't I'm worried if i leave it unattended for any lenght of time some passerby will set everything off. Ill post pictures when i get more progress done.
  23. Happy birthday Hoss!!Thanks for everything you've done on HNet!!!
  24. Don't know if anyone noticed this one,but in Comrade Duke one of the russians cars changes from a Ford Galexie to a Chevy Impala
