I've never had a chance to see the HD versions, but we did discuss them several years ago when CMT started showing them - see here. That discussion included criticism of the cropping and also the differently applied lighting effects. I assume that the Amazon versions haven't been edited for timing reasons. I think I'll be sticking to my DVDs for the time being.

Welcome to HNet, Rob, and thanks for your post. I hope that you feel able to share some of your stories. I'd also like to see what Dukes props you've acquired over the years. -
Welcome to HNet. I never made a big map, but I can tell you where most of the locations are. I only had access to Google Streetview for my "now" pictures, so feel free to post your own photos if you can get better angles. I think that most of the loose ends have been tied up now, but there may be some places I missed. If you spot any new locations that you recognize, I'd like to see them.

Widow Baxley is mentioned in 'The Rustlers' in season 2. There's also The Famous Flying Baxley Sisters in 'Coy vs. Vance'. I think it's likely that both were a nod to the Baxley family. As well as Paul Baxley working on the show, there was also his son, Craig R. Baxley, and nephew, Gary Baxley. You may be interested in Roger's 'Real Stuff in Hazzard' thread where the Baxley Sisters get a mention.

I don't know how many close-ups you'll find, but here's one from 'Officer Daisy Duke' that I posted in the Bo and Luke's Knives thread.

I think you must've started watching at about 2am my time, which is well past my bed time. I'm glad it wasn't just me who thought that.

I was here all on my own, so I watched 'The Great Santa Claus Chase' anyway. To borrow a line from the episode, I "was as lonely as old Waylon on the night of the Country Music Association Awards."

For people on this side of The Pond, that's 19.00 GMT or 20.00 CET. I'll join in if I'm home.

It's the same for me when I see Sorrell Booke's cameo appearances in 'M*A*S*H'. Even though he's dressed as a general, part of me wonders what Boss Hogg's doing in Korea.

'The Great Santa Claus Chase' is about halfway through season 3.

Here's a screengrab from 'One Armed Bandits'. I'd have probably said black, but it would be "very dark grey" out of your choices. I see that Roger's friends at Northeast Ohio Dukes are selling replica bases and complete antennae for $100 and $300 respectively. You can find them here.

Paint.Net is much better than MS Paint, and it's free. You can download it here.

Monday (Cyber Monday now seems to come just after Thanksgiving)

I look forward to your updates, Joe. There are some talented model makers on HNet, so I'm sure they can answer any issues you may come across with your first project.

This thread's been quiet for a while, and sadly I'm back with a tribute. Today I read the news that Marie Fredriksson, half of Swedish duo Roxette, has died aged just 61. She'd been battling cancer since 2002, and it finally got the better of her. Here's one of their most successful tracks which topped the charts around the world in 1991. Joyride - Roxette

Here's a picture from the Bloopers thread:

I first posted this aerial view showing the last remnants of the original building in a thread about the Duke Farm. Here's a comparison of the area in 1972 and 2019. The Duke Farm is roughly in the middle of the black & white image, with the barn behind. It was pretty isolated back then. Sometime in the '80s, several big houses appeared along the road, and they obviously didn't want a tatty old farm house in their garden.

Christmas in the chat room used to be fun. With Hobie's watch parties, I've been able to catch up on the comments later because they're in the forum, whereas comments in the chat room are lost forever. However, remembering previous experiences, one of the best things about the chat room is that comments in the chat room are lost forever. That time is better for me, but I'm out this Thursday night. I'll try to make it one day, I promise.

We discussed the "68 Coupe" in the Bloopers thread - see here and here.

Here's the trailer. It says it's been up since September 17th, and it's had over 400,000 views.

11:00am Central is 5:00pm GMT, so I'm rarely home by then on a Saturday. For me, 1:00pm to 3:00pm (or at a push, 4:00pm) Central would be best for me on a Saturday. If this doesn't suit, maybe we can sort out something over the holidays.

The house was on the backlot, just two houses down from Boss' house. The props people did a great job dressing it to look run-down, but it appears in the background of several other episodes in a cleaner state. It has now been replaced by a larger building.

AMC/Jeep wasn't bought by Chrysler until 1987. When Dukes was made, Renault owned a large part of AMC.

The line about Rosco being a rent-a-cop at the drive-in deli on Frontage Road is repeated virtually verbatim in 'Repo Men'. I don't think Frontage Road gets mentioned after that until season 5. In 'Big Daddy', Rosco is said to have "...learned that when he was a rent-a-cop at that all-night pizza parlor on Frontage Road." In the next episode, 'Vance's Lady', Boss tells Rosco, "If you blow the top off my political future your future is gonna be backup bagboy at the all-night supermarket on Frontage Road." I think that's the last time we hear about Frontage Road. I doubt that Frontage Road had three 24-hour businesses, so were they all part of the same store, or were the writers being lazy?
