Los Angeles will be hosting the Olympics again in 2028. Although the Coliseum was built in 1923, it was an iconic venue for the previous games in 1932 and 1984, so maybe it's a bit of early publicity. However, it doesn't look that well suited to NASCAR racing. It's a shame they closed the Riverside Raceway in California (as seen in footage in 'Undercover Dukes'). That closed in 1989 and held its last NASCAR race a year earlier. The site is now covered by housing and a shopping mall.

I've just checked out Turbine's website - it's a cool looking set, but €200 (approx. $213 at today's rates)! -
Roger, here are the bikes and trikes which appear on IMCDb's Dukes of Hazzard page. I've listed them alphabetically and added the episodes they appeared in. They're normally pretty good at identification on IMCDb, but not completely infallible. It was a 1981 Yamaha IT 175 in 'Double Dukes'. My full post with screengrabs is here.

I did google DOH Blu-Ray when I saw there was one for KR, but not yet. Thanks for the extra info - I haven't watched that video yet. I have the complete KR on DVD, and that's shot up in price since I bought it. -
I liked that, although I don't we had it over here seeing as it's American football based. Here's a Snickers advert we did have which featured Mr. Bean.

F1 used to have its grid girls standing next to the cars on the grid while holding boards with the drivers' numbers on them. After many decades, they were banned in 2018. I thought the move was a little over-the-top at the time, but I can't say I've missed them.

I thought I'd take a break from using this thread for obituaries and post some new music. I'm slightly cheating here as the full title is 'Lionheart (Fearless)' by Joel Corry & Tom Grennan, but the radio DJs just call it 'Lionheart'. Despite being an original tune, it has a great '90s dance vibe to it - very reminiscent of songs like 'Encore Une Fois' by Sash!.

The rapper was Wiz Khalifa. While I've heard of him, I don't know his music. NASCAR is obviously looking to expand its audience (seeing as its traditional audience is waning), but the reviews I've read are very mixed. The crowd seemed to enjoy the show, but USC had a stand there, so I'm not surprised that it went over well with their students. Personally, I didn't mind the performance, but the concept of having a halftime show in the middle of a race is completely alien to me. Fair enough in football, soccer, rugby or sports that have a natural break, but I can't imagine having an F1 race interrupted by seven minutes of music.

I've watched a few more of the Knight Rider Historians' videos, and while the one below has nothing to do with Valencia Oaks, it does contain a funding appeal from the North East Ohio Dukes. It was only posted just over a week ago, so it should still be current. -

He's probably got a bigger TV to watch it on. -

I recently came across the YouTube channel of Knight Rider Historians. As their name suggests, they research all aspects of Knight Rider, and now own a couple of screen-used cars, and are in the process of restoring the screen-used FLAG semi (truck and trailer). I've only just started watching the videos because most are in the 30-60 minute range, but the one below caught my eye. It mainly concerns the episode 'Out of the Woods' (previous mentioned in this thread), and discusses the Duke Farm and Boar's Nest filming locations. -
I was listening to the Bellamy Brothers last night when I remembered this old advert. Unfortunately, when I re-found this thread, many of the videos were missing. I've replaced about a dozen of them that were still available on other channels. I'm guessing that this was the introduction of contactless payments.

The richest man in the world at the moment is Bernard Arnault who's worth about $214 billion, but I'd never heard of him until he overtook Elon Musk. Fame and popularity sometimes have nothing to do with it. -
A little F1 news: It's rumored that tomorrow, Red Bull will announce Ford as their engine supplier for 2026 when the new regulations come in. It's Ford's first venture into F1 since they sold their Jaguar team to Red Bull in 2004. More on the story here.

It depends which side of County Down you want, but Dublin to Newry is only about 65 miles.
-
It looks like the spelling is Nicky Fagan. I found this 2011 article on him, his General Lee and Tom Sarmento in The Meath Chronicle. FYI. Meath is the Irish county to the north and east of Co. Dublin.
-
For some reason, the shot near the end where you're approaching the bridge reminds me of the Dukes heading for Atlanta in 'Daisy's Song'.
-
I don't know Nickie Fagan. The car I sat in wasn't his, but I never got the name of the General Lee owner I met at one of the other car shows. I did get to spend the afternoon chatting to Tom Sarmento many years ago. Back then, there was another HNet member in Ireland who went by the name of CDoherty. He invited me to join him with Tom. You can read about the meeting here. I can't find Roth's real name. His bio says he's from Gelderland, The Netherlands. You can see his introductory post here.
