  1. Thank-you! I think he has lived up to his name pretty well ... do feel like he has gotten better (thank goodness! LOL) but still has the ornery streak in him.
  2. Here is a picture of my 13 or 14 year old cat...my very own Daisy Mae Duke! And the puppy being my very own Rosco P. Coltrane...well not so much of a puppy any more. He is now almost eleven months old. (He's just as ornery as ol' Rosco was...KHEE!)
  3. Love this song...very relaxing. Then again, I love all of Kenny Chesney's songs...just awesome.
  4. A football fan too? Well we will see who will walk away from the game a winner...HA HA. Best of luck to your Cheifs...though I'll be going for the Bears all the way. Though your Cheifs as Stanzi who played for Iowa last year so can't be too bad. Probably won't watch the awards, but will watch the driver's speeches online at NASCAR.com if they have them there as they did last year. Jeff Gordon's dance move Had to post this awesome video...loved every second of it. Don't know how Jeff Gordon got talked into doing that, but was glad to catch it online tonight. It was good hearing other driver's comments as well...Jimmie Johnson " Do I still have a job after this?" LOL. Another reason why I love NASCAR...more than just the cars and the racing, it's the driver's as well and their personalities. Just awesome!
  5. Well y'all may want to sit down for this NASCAR news...it's going to surprise the socks off of ya. Dale Earnhardt Jr won the most popular driver award last night...for the nineth year in a row. Y'all surprised? I wasn't but have to say he deserves it...even if it isn't Jeff Gordon. Congrats to Dale Jr... Also NASCAR news...the NASCAR awards banquet is being held tonight in Las Vegas at 9:00 PM ET on SPEED. It will consist of the top ten drivers in points in the Sprint Cup Series... Don't know about y'all...but am ready for Daytona 500 to be here. Why oh why does there have to be an off season? LOL. Well until then, I guess I'll be going for the ol' blue and orange and be yelling GO BEARS instead of GO JEFF GORDON! LOL. Love my football, but still not NASCAR or baseball...
  6. Awesome artwork, Hoss. Loved the cat. You can't get much better than cats and the Dukes combined like that.
  7. See you beat me to some of my stories I was planning on posting here. Guess I miss a lot by going on vacation. good work though... Though I also read that Kurt Busch got fined fifty thousand dollars for his actions during the Homestead race. He had transmission problems early on and I guess he gave one of the announcers the bird and then cussed him out. He got caught on a fans video cussing him out and was put on youtube and NASCAR fined him for it. He shoulda learned from his brother when he flipped the official off last year at the fall texas race and gotne parked for three laps and fined 25 thousand dollars and put on probation for the rest of that year... Don't know how big of news that is since that is just a slap on the wrist for Kurt with is payroll...just think (my opionion being...) that NASCAR is done putting up with him yelling and cussing people out once he gets upset. 83 more days til Daytona...
  8. Dang I leave for the weekend and look what I miss! Hoss' birthday! I hope you had a great one Hoss and that you enjoyed your race today...hope you had a special day for your birthday!
  9. Yes...Congrats TRPColtrane...am sure you are one happy camper right now. This year may be your driver's turn at the championship, but next year that big ol' trophy and that big ol' check (5.6 million dollars) is going home with Jeff Gordon and team 24. Thanks Roger for the encouragement. I have ALOT to learn about Hockey, but am always glad to see a Chicago team in the number one spot...well except for maybe the White Sox. They are too much of a rival of the Cubs to get too happy for them. I may like NASCAR and baseball a bit better than football, but trust me, Roger, I am really excited about the Bears recent run of wins. Their team is finally getting up to par and back to shape as it was last year. . .and am looking forward to seeing them back in the Super Bowl this year. I am finally beginning to understand football and now that NASCAR is sadly over, I will be watching more Bears games and be more excited about Bears football. I need something to fill that empty void of three months between races. And football fits in perfectly into that void. Dang three months though? That is a looooonnnnnggggg time of not watching Jeff Gordon in that 24 car go for the win...don't know if I'll be able to survive it...the Bears better keep the wins comin'!
  10. Well the race has just gotten over and I am sure NASCAR is eccstatic on how it came down to this... After several rain delays and after passing a lot of drivers...Tony Stewart has won his fifth race of the season/chase and to win his third championship. Congrats to Tony and team 14 on a great race and all of Stewart's fans. Am sure you all are on cloud nine right now... Carl Edwards led the most laps and came home second...points are tied, but since Carl has only one win this year and Stewart as five, the championship goes home with Stewart. Carl raced a good race...a good season. He did everything right...very consistant. He has such great sportsmanship, was able to smile through his interview once he got out of his car...and then went over and congratulated Tony. Here is the top ten positions of the race at Homestead: 1. Tony Stewart 2. Carl Edwards 3. Martin Truex Jr 4. Matt Kenseth 5. Jeff Gordon 6. Clint Bowyer 7. Kasey Kahne 8. Kevin Harvick 9. Denny Hamlin 10. Jeff Burton Here is the top twelve finishing in points: 1. Tony Stewart 2. Carl Edwards 3. Kevin Harvick 4. Matt Kenseth 5. Brad Keselowski 6. Jimmie Johnson 7. Dale Earnhardt Jr 8. Jeff Gordon 9. Denny Hamlin 10. Ryan Newman 11. Kurt Busch 12. Kyle Busch 13. Clint Bowyer (whoever gets thirteenth wins a million dollars) All the points are unofficial, but that is from NASCAR.com... And my NASCAR withdrawl begins...
  11. They are back racing...Gordon even led a lot of laps before being passed by Tony Stewart. Carl Edwards is third, behind Gordon. Tony is now first in points by one point... Holding my breath for Carl to get this thing...(Carl just passed Gordon for second.
  12. Well we are on lap 109 and we are red flag for rain. URGH...though I think it has stopped and they are now drying the track. My NASCAR withdrawl has seemed to have kicked off early at the thought of this being the LAST race of the season... Anyway, so far the races has been a good one for the most part. Tony had a lot of rough luck at the start of the race when he got a hole in his car after Kurt's transmission going out. Though he didn't know how he got the hole. Though he restarted all the way back in the line up, he has now passed a lot of cars and is in the top ten. Carl Edwards had start the race up front and is still leading the race...with JEFF GORDON right behind him. Gordon has had a strong and fast car today. Johnson has had some engine problems and Jr has felt a vibration. Both are still in the race. Marcos Ambrose and David Ragen are out due to their engine blowing...both having Rousch engines what Edwards is driving. Though they are now saying that Edwards is racing with a different engine...am hoping not have engine problems...am holding my breath.
  13. I get a lot of info from NASCAR.com. Great site...usually one of my first stops when I come online.
  14. I figured that much MA...just voicing my opiniuon on the matter. But you are right...
  15. Well the last and final race of the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Homestead will be at 3:00 PM EST on ESPN...afterwards who ever is in the number one spot in points will be walking away as the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion. Will it be Carl Edwards who is three points ahead of Tony Stewart or will Stewart come back with the win? If they tie in points, the win will go to Tony since he has the most wins of the season... I will make sure to write my review after the race and followed by the points. Here is the top ten starting positions... 1. Carl Edwards 2. Martin Truex Jr 3. Kasey Kahne 4. Kurt Busch 5. Brad Keselowski 6. Matt Kenseth 7. Jeff Gordon 8. Greg Biffle 9. Jimmie Johnson 10. Denny Hamlin (Tony Stewart will start 15th today...) Well today's start of the race is looking good for my fantasy teams since five of my eight drivers start in the top ten. I got drivers starting 1,2,3,5, 9. I am currently 3rd for the playoff secong and 4th for all season...so am hoping to come out first or second....fingers crossed. LOL. As for me, I am hoping that Jeff Gordon will get his first win at Homestead to end his year out with an win...and that Carl Edwards will be the 2011 Sprint Cup Series. Stewart drives Hendrick endgines, but love Edwards attitude. Always positive and he has came close to winning the championship a few times, just never came through with the deal thanks to a driver by the name of Jimmie Johnson who has won the last five years. Being a JJ fan, hate to see his great streak come to an end, but all good things sooner do come to an end. Both Stewart and Edwards has two wins at this track...Edwards won at Homestead last year.... Who do y'all want to win? The race and the championship?
  16. Wow this thread has been greatly left behind...am so sorry. As Rosco would say, Shame on me...everyone knows my name. Anyway the Nationwide series season came to an end last night and here is the final top ten in points: 1. Ricky Stenhouse Jr 2. Elliot Sadler (-45) 3. Justin Allgaier 4. Aric Almirola 5. Reed Sorenson 6. Jason Leffler 7. Kenny Wallace 8. Brian Scott 9. Michael Annett 10. Steven Wallace We will be finding our Sprint Cup Series champion later this afternoon...
  17. Well Roger if you are going by our role play...you are clearly mistaken. Your Rosco ran into Gordon...Gordon was an innocent bystander that Rosco's horrendous driving ability took as a victim. And Rosco being Rosco refuses to take any responsability for his own actions...HA HA. Role play aside, I do believe Gordon is deserving of this honor. For what he does on the track but more so of what he does off the track. For all his charities he is in and all that he does to help kids that are sick. Just amazing. Plus he has now been in NASCAR's Sprint Cups (use to be Winston Cup) Series for twenty years...he has had to have some influence on the sport, don't you think? Like his four championships (next year he'll get number five...HA HA:rofl:) and his 85 wins that has put him as the third winningest driver.... Just saying...though my opinion may be clouded a bit by how BIG of a Jeff Gordon fan I am. Thanks Roger I am very happy for Jeff Gordon. May not be his well deserved fifth championship I was hoping for, but I am definately happy with his award.
  18. I've got to be honest...this thread greatly disgusts me and to see it linked to the Dukes is even more disturbing. And no, I did NOT click the link. This is a clean site about a clean show full of family values and this is what it does to it? Very disturbing to me. I saw the first DOH movie with Jessica Simpson in it and refused to see the second one...the first one was bad enough. (Only reason I did go see it was because I felt like I had to give it a chance...bad idea on my part!) As for me...I will stick with Cathy, John, Tom, and Denver and that is the ONLY Dukes of Hazzard there is in my BOOK!
  19. So very true Brian. NASCAR does need some good news...
  20. Sending hugs your way Daney in this time of need ((((((HUGS))))) I am sorry for your great loss and know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
  21. This was my FIRST favorite Country song...can't remember how young I was, but remember thinking of it as Mel meaning baby as in infant and not the way he is intending. LOL. Still love this song and Mel's music... Y'all are gonna love this video...Mel didn't have a video I could see for this song, but the first video that was listed was this one to a slide show of Daisy Duke. How appropriate is that? LOL. Sadly most of her clothing isn't all that appropriate and am surprised she got away with it back then. So if there is anyone easily offended or too young they may not want to watch it. It isn't too bad especially compared to how some people dress now adays, but still not what I was thinking...though ironically Catherine just as that air of innocence about her that she seems to make it work...especially on the show.
  22. Well this may not pertain the whole NASCAR world and may have little effect on anyone on this board other than me and any other Jeff Gordon fan, but had to share the good news. Seeing on how any Jeff Gordon fan after last week's race needs and deserves some good news going into Homestead this weekend. Jeff Gordon has earned the Person of the Year by NASCAR Illustrated for what I think I read third time in a row. I read that yesterday on his fanforum and just got my NASCAR Illustrated, for December, in the mail today!!!! Am sooooo excited and happy to see his face on the cover and to see him honored with such a deserving title. This may not alter NASCAR or the chase any or make any big news headlines, but had to share this exciting and GOOD news to y'all. And after the week I have had, I could really USE some good news right about now.
  23. (Plus "Finally Home" Included. Was sang at the Dove awards...)One of my favorite songs by my favorite Christian group. Have seen them three times and loved every second of it. Great group...Bart Millard and the rest of Mercy Me puts such great emotion into this song; almost brings chills to me.
  24. Well this has little to nothing to do with NASCAR, but had to say that I now have complete sympathy for Jeff Gordon on Sunday's race when his brakes went out. Not that I didn't then, but now I REALLY know how he must have felt or somewhat. Halfway going to work today and had to step on my brakes in case someone walked in front of me (it was dark and couldn't see but a shadow...) and my brakes went out. Have never been so scared in my life and can't imagine how much worse it must have been going at the speed Gordon was going. I made it to my apartment fine (where I was to drop off my dogs at) due to having a little brakes. Turns out there was a hole in my brake line and now have to get it all fixed. Dang where is Cooter when I need him?! But after I was home safely and got thinking of how much worse it could have ended, I found it sadly ironic that on the same week Gordon finishes as the last car left on the track due to his brakes failing on him, my own brakes fail on me. Was definately not a fun ride...
