Jesse nodded. "Alright. Out to the truck...the both of ya..." he said putting his arm around Luke's waist nd helping him to the truck. He waited until both his boys wee in before thanking Amos, asking him to send the bill before getting in himself and taking off.
Luke said nothing more, knowing he wouldn't get his way anyway. Jesse looked at the doc. "Best check Bo out while yer at it...Luke don't always know his own strength."
"No...No I got stuff t' do here....I...I don' wanna go there.." stammered Luke. "Now Luke you heard the doc..." began Jesse. "No...I don't wanna go!" he cried again, hosptals giving him the heebiejeebies.
Luke frowned at that, but said nothing. "An I've a hankerin t' knock their heads t'gether.." added Jesse. "Just the same, check em both out while you're at it."
Jesse nodded. "Bo's right...hush..." A knock soon sounded at the door. "That'll be Amos...Luke you tel him what hurts you hear me...don't you try to be no gladiator...if it hurts you tell him." Luke scowled. "Yes sir." Jesse nodded and showed Amos into the house.
Jesse points a finger at him and then at Luke. "You both find more trouble than a dog finds fleas." "This ain't Bo's fault... an I don't need a doc...it'll mend," protested Luke.
Luke quickly let go of his shoulder. "I'm sorry," he said through tight lips. "Doc's on his way..." said Jesse handing the ice to Bo. "You two will be the death of me yet."
"Kids," muttered Jesse as he left to call a doc. He really wasn't as mad as he let on...he was worried, especially at the sight of Luke's foot...and when he was worried it always came out harsh. Luke held on to Bo's shoulder tightly as he felt the cold press against his foot. Even that little bit of pressure made his foot tender.
"Good Lord...well get that ice to it and let's take a look." He crossed to wear Luke lay and shook his head upon seeing it. "I'm callin Amos." "Uncle Jesse...it ain't that bad..." objected Luke. "Oh you're a doc are ya?....well that's good t'know seein as my nephews get into more trouble than any ten boys do..."
Luke sat, his face a little pale as he tried to move his foot. Jesse came out of the room mumbling, "man can't even take a nap in his own house...." He looked up seeing Bo rantically going through the freezer. "What in tarnation is going on boy?"
Luke sat gently on the couch biting his lip as he looked at the swollen foot. The last thing he wanted was to worry the family or spend money they didn't have. He had already done that by bringing Jaime to live with them.
Luke hissed as he struggled with the boot his foot already swollen enough to prevent the boot coming off easily. Finally he bit his lip and yanked off the boot, it flying across the barn. Slowly he removed his sock, his face palinga little at the large bruise already darkening his foot.
