  1. 18th? Ouch. Sorry to hear that. Well, at least you grabbed the #1 and 3 spot on your fantasy team. I saw in the paper that your man JG stirred up a little controversy by saying that Dale Jr should have kept his mouth shut about the headache. Have you heard any response about that comment from Jr?
  2. I've loved astronomy my whole life. If anybody here as ever been under a truly dark sky and witnessed the Milky Way Galaxy in all its glory, you might have an idea why somebody can get hooked on the hobby. When I was 19 years old (the year Dukes came out) I bought property that I eventually built a house on. I still live there. The skies are very dark....an astronomers paradise. For a third of a century I've enjoyed my hobby under the best skies imaginable for my area. When I bought the property I only had one neighbor. Today I still have the same neighbor and they're like family to me. Two days ago they put up a street light. Not only that but they put it up in the worst possible location. This means that a third of a century of living under a beautiful night sky is over. I know this might not seem like a big deal to non-astronomers but it's devastating to me. I feel like I've lost my best friend. I haven't discussed this with them and probably won't. I'm sure they never gave my astronomy hobby any thought when they put it up. Besides, it's their place and they're free to do what they want. Not only that but we haven't had a disagreement in 33 years so why start now. Still, I'm devastated and in mourning for my precious dark skies.
  3. Enjoy the race Garrett. I'm logging out to head off to a wedding reception but I'll catch the highlights and your review. Good luck to JG.
  4. I hope you had a great one my friend. So, is this the oldest you've ever been?
  5. That's too bad. Dale Jr has quite a large following of fiercely loyal fans and I feel bad for him and all his fans. Not only that but it hurts NASCAR in general because a lot of folks won't even watch these next two races if he's not in them. Thanks for breaking this news to us Garrett.
  6. angry (LOL Will Farrell....."He's an angry elf")

  8. Thanks for your analysis Garrett. You sure know your NASCAR. I hope Jeff Gordon gets back in it so the rest of the Chase is a little more exciting for you. He only needs one race to turn things around. (of course once you turn things around you have to keep them going in the right direction). At least your NASCAR season is still going on. David Ragen was out of it a long time ago. Now I have to wait several months for the real excitement to begin.....me beating you in fantasy NASCAR. I'm going to be facing the difficult decision of dumping DR as my fave. In every other sport I've been loyal to the same (Pittsburgh) teams my whole life but NASCAR is a little more complicated. It would be easy if Cale Yarborough was still racing...LOL
  9. Enos was sitting in the patrol car praying and gathering his thoughts. Seconds later the ambulance rounded the corner ahead of him, heading off to the hospital. Enos put his car in drive then noticed Daisy's Jeep Dixie approaching in his rear view mirror. He stopped, put his car in drive and waited for them, knowing they hadn't got there quick enough to see the ambulance before it rounded the corner up ahead. Daisy and Jesse got out and looked over the General Lee. Enos walked over to them. "Um, Uncle Jesse sir....um, Daisy....there's something you should know. There might be a little more to this story than meets the eye." cue anyone
  10. I heard a commentator say that the next six tracks heavily favor Jimmie Johnson when you look at past performances. I'm not sure but I think it was someone on ESPN. I know it wasn't Brad Dougherty....LOL Whatcha think Garrett? JJ got it wrapped up? Don't answer that. I know you think JG's taking it all. That's okay I'm still hoping for a David Ragen win. Come on buddy...I know you're not in the running for the Chase but please....just one win. Is that too much to ask for? Go ahead and say it Garrett....yes it is.
  11. Hoss and BL got it right. It's 1090. Fill in the blank with a last name... Ma (blank) lives in Chickasaw County with her three boys. (BTW, these "boys" are really full grown men)
  12. Jimmie is certainly right. Words can't describe how a person feels after such a devastating loss. The only thing that can truly heal is time....but other things help.....like remembering all the good things and thanking God that Sadie had the best home a dog could have and lived a happy life full of love. It's too bad all dogs aren't as lucky as she was. You have our condolences, prayers and *hugs*
  13. Thanks for the update Garrett. It's always tough to watch a wreck like that. I was on the road all day so didn't see any sports at all on Sunday but the replay was even being shown on CNN and HLN. Thanks for the golf cart pictures Hoss....funny!
