Your idea is a good one Skipper. It would be a fun change of pace to have a County Commissioner who is nice and honest. It would take getting used to but would be nice. The key to making it work would be getting the new younger Dukes to have the same appeal as the ones did from 40 years ago. If they could pull that off they'd have a winner. Of course another challenge would be the flag. While I would love a return to the Confederate Flag, corporations who advertise on commercials would not permit it. Would Hazzard fans accept an American flag on the orange 1969 Charger? Some would and some would not. I'd be pretty mad that the Confederate flag was taken off but two good things would happen. Number one is that the American flag is something to be proud of as well. Number two is that the Dukes tradition would start up for another generation of fans. Sure, there are young kids today who are Dukes fans because their parents and grandparents handed the tradition down to them but a new Dukes television series would open up the world again to the Dukes Hazzard. Still, the loss of Southern fans who are loyal to the Confederate Flag would be troubling. Despite the wider appeal of the show, Southerners were the heart and sole of the original fan base and have already had too much of their culture taken away. It would be interesting to poll them and see how they would feel.

I thought the two reunion shows were terrible. I could be wrong but it just seemed like they were written by writers who were simply writing for a paycheck and weren't real fans of the show. I think it would ppssible to make a reunion show or even new series and make it work. When I saw how successful bringing back Dallas was I believe it could be done with Dukes if they could get stars back from the original like they did with Dallas. The problem with that would be if one of them passed away like Larry Hagman. That would be tough on Dukes fans. I would rather see it left like it was after season 7. Everybody is still alive and every day is a happy ending. Still, with my help as a senior consultant a new series could work. ....if it stuck to the spirit of the original.

Share and Share Alike....season 4 Two robbers driving by Sunset Lake throw a bag of stolen credit cards out that is worth a million dollars when Cletus is chasing them for a minor traffic violation. Bo and Luke just happen to be fishing there and pick up the bag. Cletus catches the bad guys and since he knows nothing about the credit cards he just gives them a ticket. The bad guys start looking for the General Lee since they saw it parked there and suspect the owners might have picked up the bag. Rosco ends up with the cards and gives them to Boss who plans on keeping them but using a few to frame the Dukes. Meanwhile Lulu is now dressing like Boss and has started the Hazzard Equal Rights Society (HERS) and explains to Boss that she is taking over half of his businesses since they are legally hers. She then has her name painted on all of them and convinces other Hazzard women to stand up for their rights as well. The bad guys find Bo and Luke but don't believe them when they say Rosco has the cards. The boys elude them but the bad guys go to the farm and hold Jesse hostage in their ongoing effort to get the bag of credit cards. Lulu sold Rosco's sheriff's car to Big Ed Little and had it painted Chickasaw green and her and Daisy took off to deliver it, not knowing the cards were hidden inside. After everyone found out where the cards were 7 vehicles took off after Daisy and Lulu 1) The General Lee 2) Boss and Rosco in Cletus's car 3) Cletus in a third police car 4) Jesse's truck 5) Cooter's wrecker 6) The bad guys 7) Big Ed. The bad guys get there first and hold Daisy and Lulu hostage and take their car but then it's another Hazzard County reunion and another happy ending. Lulu backs off from sharing businesses with Boss but unveils her new plan to run for the office of County Commissioner.

Yepper! The Skipper got them all right.

Miss Tri-Counties.....season 4 Miss Melanie Dubois of Hatchapee County enters the Tri-County beauty contest, the 3 counties being Hatchapee, Riverton and Hazzard. Melanie's sugar daddy is Big Jim Mathers and he wants her to win so bad that he gives Boss $10,000 to fix it so she does. Boss wants to use the money to fund his solar powered still and he even has a little scale model of it. Boss knows Melanie's biggest competition is Daisy so he tries to keep her from entering before the deadline but fails. The contest is divided into 3 sections- mechanical ability, a car race and swimsuit competition. The mechanical contest is to see who can put a carburetor together quickest. Daisy won despite the fact that Boss rigged it but she forfeited because she thought it was the right thing to do. Later Rosco found out that Daisy's drivers license had expired so she couldn't enter the race. After telling her, the Dukes rushed off to Chickasaw because Boss wouldn't help her renew it. Boss contacts Big Ed Little and he fails to stop Daisy from renewing it despite chasing her cousins around during her test. Daisy then won the race even though Big Jim sent his two henchmen on the course to trip her up. Having Daisy tied with Melanie 1-1 Big Jim is desperate so he has his men kidnap Daisy but it's the General Lee to the rescue and they get Daisy back to the Boar's Nest just in time for the swimsuit competition which was easy for Miss Hazzard County to win, pulling down a perfect score of 30. Big Jim got his money back from Boss and Daisy donated her $500 prize to the 4H club for kids (Head, Heart, Health, Hands). -- Folks in Hazzard County were green before being green was cool. Boss wanted a solar powered still and Jesse invented ethanol in "High Octane" --- Jesse (talking to himself) "And people ask 'wher'd ya git all that grey hair Mr. Duke.' "

You sure have made a big impact in a week. Actually, you made a big impact after your first day. Your enthusiasm for the Dukes of Hazzard is very impressive. We're happy and lucky to have you cousin.

Hoss has helped me a thousand times and has never asked for a thing in return.....he is a real resident of Hazzard County at heart....even though he does live across a pond that would be a challenge to jump over...even for Bo.

I try not to look for bloopers because I never like to find fault with perfection but the one I always laugh at is at the end of "Follow that Still" where cigarettes are being thrown out of the APC when nobody is in it.

I would feel the same way. I thought about going to the original farm in Georgia (the grandson of the owner used to be a member here) and getting a bucket of dirt and spreading it all over my garden. That way I could say I'm farming the same land as the Dukes.

I'm not huge into video games. I probably will get more into them when winter gets here but I guess I'll have to do without a Dukes game. Since we have a Nintendo Classic and Wii and might get a PS4 I really don't need a fourth system. Besides, like most video games it would probably take me forever to get good at Dukes. It really is hard to teach an old dog new tricks!

Anybody who loves the Dukes of Hazzard enough to think about doing something like this is not just a fan but a Superfan. We're sure glad to have you here on the HazzardNet where you will be right at home amongst us other Superfans. I bet if they would have known how popular the show would still be 4 decades later they would have saved more relics from the show and from the stunt cars.

Bad Day in Hazzard.....season 4 A big time thief named Thackery and his 3 henchmen come into town with plans to rob an armored car containing ten million dollars of Federal Reserve money. Two of them kidnap Bo and Luke and take them to the Boar's Nest where the other two are holding Daisy, Boss and Jesse hostage. After luring Rosco and Cletus there they have seven hostages. They then ordered Boss to tap into WHOGG radio and order the town to evacuate because it is going to be sprayed for an exotic fruit fly. Luke escapes briefly but has to return because of Thackery's CB message saying Jesse will be killed if he doesn't. Cooter arrives at the Boar's Nest....hostage number 8. Jesse remembers that the Boar's Nest used to be a warehouse and had a secret tunnel in the store room from back in the day when he and Boss ran shine....and it's still there. Boss and Jesse trick the bad guys into locking Bo and Luke in the store room. Thackery and one of his men dress up like Boss and Rosco to meet the armored car to steal it. While trying to get out Bo and Luke get caught but overpower one bad guy while the other hostages overpower the other. Thackery and bad guy #3 get the armored car but the boys and the General are right on them. Luke jumps on the roof and waves his shirt over the windshield forcing it to stop. All 4 thieves go to jail. Thackery was humiliated he got caught by small town folks. "Why couldn't it have been the CIA or FBI....even the state police?" -- After filling out his will Rosco said "I can't remember if I left Flash to Mama or Mama to Flash." -- When the guy had to pull over because Luke was waving his shirt on the windshield I thought to myself....he wouldn't be very good at Mario Kart when the ink spot gets in your way.

You have the same tastes in Dukes scenes as me Spike!

Johnny Paycheck sang at the Boar's Nest but he quit and told Boss to take the job and shove it.
