The Hazzardville Horror....season 3
A father-son team disguised as plumbers are stealing silver around Hazzard and melting it into bars with their portable smelter that they have stashed in the basement of a house that has long believed to be haunted. They steal Boss's silver that is in the Boar's Nest and of course he blames the Dukes. Mary Lou Pringle comes to Hazzard to fix up the house (to sell it) that she inherited from Uncle Hezekiah Pringle. When the Duke boys come to the house Luke discovers that the house really isn't haunted and after putting 2 and 2 together realize the silver thieves are hidden somewhere inside. Eventually Luke takes Rosco and Cletus there but the silver is gone and Bo is tied up. Meanwhile, the thieves go to the Boar's Nest to steal more silver.....stuff that Boss just brought from his house to keep safe. After Bo and Luke hop in Cletus's car they catch the thieves.
-- The episode title is likely inspired by the book and movie from the late 70s, The Amityville Horror.
-- Tammy Wynette sings "Rocky Top" in this one. Season 3 finds Rosco's celebrity spedtrap becoming more active.
-- I loved the scene where Flash has his paws on the dashboard and when Rosco told him to buckle up for safety he did!
-- Also, classic scene when Rosco's car went under a truck, turning it into a convertible and turning Rosco's hat into a convertible too.
I just found out they arrested 5 people. There was some kind of drug deal gone bad and a girl got beat up in the middle of it all. I'm not sure where the guy who knocked on my door fit in. Usually the most excitement we get in my corner of the sticks involves animals.
One thing I find funny about all this is the curfews. Hmm, let me think here. These folks are shooting cops, setting police stations, police cars and business on fire. They're terrorizing, stealing and vandalizing. Do you really think they're going to say "Ah, shucks. I can't do that stuff anymore because I'm not allowed outside past 9:00."
We just had some excitement in the neighborhood. Some tall guy on drugs knocked on my parents door (a mile away from me) asking for a ride. When my dad said no the guy ran off in the woods behind the house. He ended up at someone else's house and did the same....and another and another. Since we don't get many folks knocking on our doors out in the sticks at night the cops were called in. They ended up looking for him with 4 different cars. I only have one neighbor close to me (different road than my parents) and he called me and said the guy was there and was now coming to my house. When he knocked I didn't answer the door but called the cops to let him know he was here. When the cops came I told them which direction he went. I also called the neighbors in that direction to warn them. No word yet if they caught him. I like helping folks but when when someone is on drugs they can be a little unpredictable.
Shucks. We put new floors in so emptied out the living room. I was real careful to mark every wire on the satellite, VCR, TV, Wii and all that other stuff. Now that I've hooked everything back up the VCR isn't working. It's probably something simple but I'm a complicated guy who hates technology (oxymoron?) and I can't figure it out after trying everything. How appropriate that my next episode is Hazzardville Horror.....not being able to see Dukes is horrific. Guess I'll wait for the Mrs to get home. Maybe she can figure it out....
I really like this thread. It's always nice to see how everybody's doing. We finished the flooring we were replacing. It was tough work but was worth it. It's raining today so I won't get outside to do firewood. That's good since I could use the rest. I'm watching dirt bike races now that I recorded. Supercross is jamming a lot of races into 3 weeks to get caught up.
We're starting the last day of a 3 day remodeling job so I haven't had time for much TV. I hope to get an episode in this evening. Happy June everybody. It's technically not the first day of summer but June 1st always feels like summer to me.
It's been pretty rainy here the last two days. Sure is delaying everything I need to get done outside. The mosquitos are starting to come out too. Oh well, I knew that would happen. I'm glad I enjoyed things while I could. And these fresh leaves are blocking my satellite tv signal. Time to fire the chainsaw up again.
