Robot P. Coltrane.......season 7 Two guys named Rance and Marv come through Hazzard with a delivery truck hauling a mysterious stolen item. The Duke boys helped Rosco catch them for speeding and he seized their truck and took it to Boss in town. When Boss forced them to show him the contents, out walked a robot and the first thing he did was light Boss's cigar. The robot's name is Bobby Joe and Rance was one of the engineers who developed him. He worked at Atlanta Robotics and had stolen the robot because he was fired and was planning on asking $200,000 for Bobby Joe's return. Boss bought the robot but Rance and Marv were planning on stealing him later. After the robot proved he could be a better sheriff than Rosco, Boss fired his human and put the sheriff's badge on Bobby Joe. The Duke boys found the bad guys hideout and grabbed the ransom note for evidence but got caught and tied up but eventually worked their way loose. Bobby Joe got the combination to the bank vault and Rance and Marv opened it and stole bags of cash while the robot pinned Rosco into the wall. Boss, Bo and Luke arrived at the bank and then the boys took off after the robbers. Jesse and Daisy freed Rosco by throwing water on Bobby Joe's circuits. The Duke boys caught the bad guys and Rosco and Enos arrested them. Rosco got his job back. -- According to David Hofstede's Unofficial Companion, Daisy and the robot were dating. Robert Shields was the actor in the suit and Catherine was dating him at time.

ROFL......ummmm.......woops! ROFL again. My mistake. In my defense, Flash was called a boy at first. I'm going to pay attention to see if Rosco is calling her a girl or not in these cartoons. Watching these cartoons is like watching them all over again since I don't remember too much about them. The Christmas one is the only one I remember well because I've seen it often. This London episode has been my favorite of the 6 I've seen so far. BTW Hoss, London Canada is just across Lake Erie from me.

The Dukes of London Boss and Rosco were stuck at a railroad crossing because a train had stopped. While there, Flash got out and met Regina, the Queen's Royal Bassett Hound. The two were look-a-likes and the next thing you know, Regina left with Rosco while Flash was left behind. The Dukes (of Hazzard that is) came along and picked Flash up but the Queen's assistant thought they had dognapped Regina and after a police chase they were caught and thrown in jail. Now, Flash was with the Queen and Regina was with Rosco but nobody knew the difference. Vance got one phone call in jail and called the Queen, who mistakenly thought he was a different kind of Duke and ordered the Dukes freed. Back at Buckingham Palace, Flash got away and the British press reported Regina was missing. Boss realized the dogs had been switched and called the Palace about a possible reward but while he was talking, Regina hopped in a double-decker bus and on the next stop, found Flash. The two jumped in a hot air balloon. Vance shot it down with an arrow and the two hounds ended up on a moving speed boat but Coy and Vance rescued them and then Flash and Regina were returned to their rightful owners. -- Hmmm, a sequel would have been nice.....a litter of puppies a few weeks later

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Duke.....season 7 A van hauling experimental, mind-altering medication developed by Dr. Debbie Davis of Genetic Research Incorporated is driving through Hazzard. It is on the way to Atlanta to destroy the medication because it has been determined that it is too dangerous. The van swerved to miss a vehicle and a vile popped out of the back and flew through the air and landed on a rock and into Hazzard Pond. Moments later, the General Lee came by. Bo, Luke and Daisy were on their way to the annual Hazzard Hayride and the General had radiator problems and needed water. While Luke was filling up his container he took a sip of the pond water and felt the chemical's effects immediately. He starts acting angry and the first person he insults is Bo. Meanwhile, two guys named Ben and Hurley open a savings account with Boss but are planning on robbing his bank later. Luke turns up the volume on his new-found badness, insulting everybody in sight. He then returns to the farm and insults Jesse too. Back in Atlanta they discover the missing vile but Debbie's boss, Mr. Adams orders her to keep the whole thing a secret to protect them and the company. Debbie is not comfortable with that. After terrorizing the citizens of Hazzard even more, Luke teams up with Ben and Hurley to be their wheelman for the robbery. They give him $500 for an incentive and he gives it to Bo for his half of the General Lee. Rosco found out about the upcoming robbery so Boss set up cameras to get Luke in trouble. The Dukes found the broken vile at the pond. They went to Atlanta and got no answers and broke in later that night. Debbie explained that the chemicals should wear off soon and Luke would recover. The Dukes figured out that Luke was in on a bank robbery plan so went to stop him but Jesse's truck got a flat. Enos came by and Bo jumped in with him and went to town but it was too late. The bank had been robbed and Boss had Ben, Hurley and Luke on tape. Rosco left for Atlanta to take the VHS to the FBI but Jesse and Daisy stopped him. While talking, Flash destroyed the tape when Rosco threw it in the back seat. Bo and Enos caught the robbers. Enos took Ben and Hurley into custody. Bo and Luke had a fight but the medicine wore off and that caused the fight and the episode to end. -- The wheelman's (who Luke replaced) name was Zeb but the credits listed him as Toby (unless I have him mixed up with someone else). His real name is James Bradford. Sounds like a job for detective Hoss. -- I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of this episode. Seeing Luke like that is not fun.

I just saw on the news that Erie County Pennsylvania reported 197 new cases today. We have had 9 days in a row of over 100. Before that we were averaging 20 or so. This is a pretty dramatic surge.

The Secret Satellite Coy, Vance and Daisy are in the Arctic, trailing Boss, Rosco and Flash in an icy snowy race. They caught up with them and they all heard on the radio that an American satellite had crashed nearby and there was a $100,000 reward for its return. An Eskimo boy named Kiko found it and Boss traded a bag of jelly beans for it. The Dukes then met Kiko and, after a blizzard hit, they ended up in his igloo for shelter and were then joined by Boss, Rosco and Flash. Russian operatives showed up and tied up everybody and took the satellite. The Dukes ended up getting it back but then Boss and Rosco stole it from them and also took the General Lee. When they ran out of gas, the Russians caught them but the Dukes and Kiko showed up on a dog sled and ended up with the satellite. The reward money was used to build a school for Kiko's poor village. -- This is episode #4 and the 01s on the General Lee's doors are still blue so I guess they will stay that way for all 20 episodes. -- When Boss gave the boy the jelly beans he said they were from the American President. At the time Ronald Reagan was in office and he loved jelly beans.

Our local news tonight interviewed the airport director and he said they will not even try to enforce the restrictions. I guess it's tough for the people in charge. Everybody criticizes and makes fun of your restrictions but if you don't make restrictions, people ask why you're not doing anything.

Since I had it in July I should be immune for awhile.....although they don't really know how long. The paranoid side of me would be a little concerned about possible long term side effects because new vaccines are always tested long term but this one won't because of all the pressure Big Pharma and politicians are facing. I have also heard that the movie "I am Legend" is something that is not all that unreasonable.

The problem is that was the microscopic little viruses don't have watches so don't know what time it is. How can you possibly obey a curfew if you don't even know the time? The latest proposal is to buy tiny watches for the little germs so they know when to stay away from humans. The latest plan is to poof 10 trillion digital dollars into existence out of nothingness (that our grandchildren will be responsible for) and use that money to fund development of watches small enough for them to read. The ten trillion is payable to the Hogg Micro Timepiece Company, Route 36, Hazzard County, Georgia. Hey, it's as good as plan as any.

So, when a vaccine comes out who here is going to get it right away and who is going to wait to see if there are side effects that weren't found in the earlier testing?

I was watching a Beverly Hillbillies episode earlier this year and the whole time the credits ran at the end there was a carton of Winstons in the corner for an advertisement. It was one of the old black and white BHs. Since it has been illegal to advertise cigarettes for 50 years or so I wondered if that was legal. I do wonder if they will make it legal to even show a cigarette on TV someday.

Welcome, Waylon Jennings......season 7 Waylon Jennings comes into Hazzard County driving a full sized semi that contains his mobile Country and Western museum with things more valuable to a redneck than the contents of King Tut's tomb. Two guys named Buddy and Jeb wave him down for an autograph but steal the museum and get away just before Bo and Luke arrive to untie Waylon. Buddy and Jeb were hired by Boss and they get away after the boys try to catch them. The boys go back to Waylon and before he can explain things, an exact replica of the museum comes around the corner. But, it's not a replica. It is the real museum and is driven by Betty Jo Page, hired by the insurance company to protect it. It was then explained that the first truck was a decoy just because it was possible something like this could happen. When Buddy and Jeb pull into the barn where Boss and Rosco are they are shocked that the truck was empty. Boss was planning on getting $100,000 from the insurance company for the return of the truck. Since he liked country music he would have felt guilty to ask for more, prompting Rosco to say "That probably is one of the most generous selfish things you have ever done." The truck went to town where Enos was assigned to guard it all night. Betty Jo started to suspect the Duke boys, especially after finding out they were on probation. At night, Buddy and Jeb knocked Enos out with chloroform and took the museum. In the morning Betty Jo put a bug on the General so she could follow it. Later, the boys found the decoy truck and Betty Jo found them so she definitely thought they were guilty. The boys then found the real museum but got caught and tied up by Buddy and Jeb. They got away when Rosco and Enos came to arrest them. Daisy found out that a ransom note for $100,00 was sent to Betty Jo. Her company wired the money to Boss and she went with him and Rosco to Eagle Rock Meadow to make the exchange. Bo, Luke and Waylon got there too but the bad guys got away with the money and the truck (museum not attached). Luke shot a dynamite arrow in front of them and a fistfight followed. 'Ole Waylon even got in on it. Buddy and Jeb got arrested and Waylon sang "Never Could Walk the Line" at the Boar's Nest. --Waylon even got to experience a jump in the General Lee. Moments later he got another one....over a raised drawbridge. -- The stuff in the museum was pretty cool, Hank Jr's steel guitar, Willie Nelson's cut off pig tail, Buddy Holly's motorcycle and, the latest addition, a picture of the Dukes with Waylon. --- What a great scene and story!....At the Duke farm, Waylon and Betty Jo sat down with the 4 Dukes for a meal. Waylon told the story of how his guitar was stolen just before his first professional gig. A stranger came along and helped him get another. That stranger was a feller named Jesse Duke --Does anybody know if the museum was footage of a real museum?

We're the same way. We're making restrictions but not as severe as the last time. For example, in order to enter Pennsylvania (starting Friday) you have to have had a negative covid-19 test. This is a bit like the mask requirement. It is only intended to be for politicians and officials to feel good because it is not legally enforcible in 99% of the cases. That may change when Joe Biden takes office in 2 months. Erie County had 134 cases today....a little better than yesterday.

Sorry if I didn't word it well but yes, the routine test was fine....no cancer. Here in the US the health department recommends a test at 50 and 60 years old.

That is awesome! Three cheers for MeTV. When I first saw the post I thought it said MTV. That's the music channel that doesn't have any music. I guess it's a sign of the times. CMT doesn't much music either even though their M stands for it too. The educational channels don't have any educational shows and the news doesn't have news anymore (only opinions).

The covid numbers are going absolutely crazy here. Almost every day is a new record and many of the daily records aren't just getting beat, they're getting shattered. We were averaging about 20 a day but the past several days we've been averaging over 100. Yesterday we had 176. My wife works at a hospital and she said they're pretty full. There hasn't been any runs on the stores here....,yet. Your wife likely saw a meteor from something called the Leonid meteor shower, so named because the meteors originate in the part of the sky where the constellation Leo lies. Early this morning was their predicted peak. Does she drive east when she goes to work? If it wasn't in the east then it was unrelated to the Leonids. I had a rough morning. I had a routine test for colon cancer. Everything looked clear thankfully. I just ate a sandwich now. It's the first thing I've had since Monday Night Football.

Morocco Bound The Dukes were planning on taking a ferry from Gibraltar to north Africa to go to a race in Cairo but Boss tricked them about the departure time so they were late. Daisy jumped the General onto the moving ferry though. At a hotel, Rosco got his bag mixed up with another guy and before you know it, Rosco was making wishes to the genie that squeezed out of the bottle he found in the bag. He told Boss what happened so Boss wished for a billion dollars in gold. The gold was crushing Boss so Rosco wished it would disappear. Daisy then got the lamp without knowing what it was and the Dukes and Boss started racing across the desert. They were all caught by a gang of middle-eastern guys and tied up. It was Flash to the rescue, getting the lamp and wishing them free. Daisy got the lamp again and granted the genie his freedom. A magic carpet ride then brought the Hazzard folks back to their two vehicles and it was off to Cairo.

The Dukes of Venice The Dukes stopped to snap some pictures of the Roman Coliseum on their way to Venice and the General Lee got stolen. The thieves then robbed a bank in order to finance an even bigger job they had planned in Venice. Boss stopped at the bank later and told the Italian police it was the Duke boys even though he knew better. The thieves used their money to buy an exact replica of the priceless Marco Polo's Teapot. They stole the real Teapot and put the fake in its place but a museum employee discovered the phoney right away. The thieves got away with the real Teapot but eventually got caught by police boats and a floating General Lee that the Dukes got back. The police arrested the thieves and even arrested Boss and Rosco until they got everything sorted out.

Jungle Jitters Coy, Vance and Daisy were low on gas in the middle of the South American jungle and when they stopped to get the gas can out of the trunk it was gone and they realized Boss stole it. They were forced to take a short cut near a volcano that was starting to come to life but they got held hostage by natives. Boss and Rosco later got caught as well and all were thrown in the same secured area. After they all broke loose, Rosco and Boss stole a giant diamond off one of the natives big idols and the pair got captured again. They were going to be sacrificed to the volcano but the Dukes saved them. They all hopped in Boss's car and drove to the top of the volcano just in time to stop the General Lee from being sacrificed. The General jumped over the mouth of the volcano and so did Rosco in the Cadillac with Boss and Flash. They all got away safely.

These cartoon episodes all start and end the same way. Uncle Jesse is back at the farm with his pet, Smokey the racoon. Jesse is reading letters sent by the Dukes. The letters let him know how their trip is going as they race Boss, Rosco and Flash around the world. Unless Jesse says something vital to the plot, I will not mention in every review that he was on at the beginning and end. The cartoons start out with Coy, Vance and Daisy but later Coy and Vance are replaced with Bo and Luke. These reviews will be much shorter than the regular episode reviews. The first episode is titled "Put up Your Dukes" Coy, Vance and Daisy are driving the General Lee through Australia. Boss, Rosco and Flash are driving Boss's Cadillac there also. The Dukes meet their cousin Willie who has a prized kangaroo named Benny who is a champion boxer, defeating any human he faces. Boss knows that Benny is valuable so he hires two bad guys to steal him but the two double cross Boss and take his Cadillac along with Benny. In a scene from "Find Loretta Lynn" Benny drops posters of himself along the road to leave a trail. Daisy, Coy, Vance, Boss, Rosco, Willie and Flash all squeeze in the General and follow the posters to a mine where the thieves are hiding. Inside the mine, Flash sniffed Benny out and he got rescued.

Happy Birthday General Lee......season 7 After getting chased by Rosco and Boss and then getting away, Bo and Luke return to the farm to find Daisy, Jesse and Cooter celebrating the eighth birthday of the General Lee, complete with a birthday cake. Luke recalls that he was just out of the Marines and Bo was just out of high school and the episode fades to 8 years earlier. Bo and Luke were in an old brown Ford pick-up truck and got pulled over by Boss and Rosco. Rosco had a moustache and Boss was thinner with more hair on the top. Rosco impounded the truck and the boys were picked up by Jesse and Daisy in the white Ford truck. They went back to the farm and admired the souped up engine the boys built. Bo and Luke had their eyes on a $10,000 prize at the "Hazzard Road Race Championship" but had no car for their engine. Meanwhile, robbers Ginny and Rick had just stolen $50,000 in gold dust at Capitol City and made a getaway in a black 1969 Dodge Charger but crashed and were caught by Capitol City Sheriff Snead. Before they were caught they hid the bags of gold behind the instrument panel. The 4 Dukes went to Boss's house and asked for a loan but to get a lower rate Daisy had to agree to work at the Boar's Nest. Bo and Luke borrowed Cooter's truck and picked up the 10 year old Charger at a Capitol City junkyard and took it to Cooter's Garage. The robbers broke out of jail and went to Hazzard to find their car and gold dust, while Boss and Rosco were spying at Cooter's because they were concerned the new race car could beat Boss's #13 car. Ginny and Rick confronted Bo and Luke on the street but the boys got away after being shot at. The next morning the General Lee breathed life for the first time and then got painted orange because that was the only color Cooter had enough of. The 01 got painted on the sides and Bo said "We started out with nothing and it's #1 here all the way." After the flag was painted and horn installed, Jesse named the car. Later, Ginny and Rick saw the boys and started chasing them but then history was made when the General jumped it's first creek. The boys got to the race just in time. Rosco said he'd shave his moustache and Boss said he's eat his hat if the General beat Boss. While sitting in Boss's car, Rosco was the announcer in the 5 car race but Ginny and Rick joined in until Luke shot their tire out with an arrow. The other cars crashed and then some of the gold dust fell out from behind the General's instrument panel. The General trailed by a lot but caught up and jumped over Boss and Rosco to win the $10,000. Boss ate his hat and Rosco shaved. Ginny and Rick got caught and the gold dust got returned. Fade ahead 8 years and Boss and Rosco show up to interrupt the birthday party and the boys jump in the General and the chase is on! -- Ginny was played by country music star Janie Fricke. -- The guy who sold the black Charger incorrectly called it a 1968. -- The General's first jump in this episode is the record breaker that is featured in the opening song. -- What a great episode....a favorite of many Dukes fans. The most famous car in the world is still the most famous.....and likely always will be.

Does any of that stuff ever come up for sale? -
I'm having so much fun with the episode reviews I decided to do all 20 cartoon episodes as well. I'll post the first two later today. It's a bit sad that the tradition of Saturday morning cartoons is gone but it sure was a fun era while it lasted.

We just got our first measurable snow of the season. Lake Erie has a dramatic effect on weather patterns and snow. Some places got next to nothing and some got 5 inches. We only got an inch or two. I sure love Christmas so this puts me in the mood. It won't last. 60 degrees in the forecast in a couple days.
