Well, I've got to go. I've got to get some stuff done before bedtime. And that's coming fast. Yuck! I was I could just sleep in tomorrow. They are forecasting snow here tomorrow. I am NOT ready for snow. It can snow on Christmas day, but not before. I don't think the weather will listen to me though, anymore than Nascar does. lol Have a great night!

I so agree about going back to work. Leaving my family to come back to my apartment was soooo hard! I wanted to have a temper tantrum. lol And I wish that one of those tv's was for me. That would be so nice. I have nowhere to put it. lol
I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving. I love this time of year.

My nephew is 2 and about two weeks now. He is just now getting it about presents and everything. It's going to be so much fun this year to see things click in his head.
-
Yep, I'm here. I haven't been getting on as much at night because after staring at a computer all day at work, my eyes hurt like the dickens most days. So I've been giving the computer a little rest at home the last few weeks. lol You just can't keep me away from Hazzardnet and my race buddies though.

It was so weird on Sunday, not having a race to watch. I didn't know what to do with myself. I haven't even gone on to Nascar.com. I was so disappointed that Mark didn't win, that I didn't want to see all of the Jimmie hype. I know you like Jimmie and I have nothing against him. I hope that doesn't offend you. I am just ready for someone else to win the Championship.
I'm not sure what to think about all this revenge stuff. I'm wondering if now that the season is over if more rules about this stuff will be forth coming. France is probably encouraging it because it causes more drama and increases interest. With more interest, he makes more money because more people will want to go to the races to see if out comes out on the track. That's one theory anyway. lol

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. We did although it was crazy busy the whole weekend. We did the whole shopping thing on friday like everyone else. Luckily I got almost everything I was going for. My jaw dropped though when I saw one guy go out with three 50 inch flat screen tv's. I couldn't believe it. I wish I had that much money. All in all it was a good day though. I got a few Christmas ideas and put a couple of plans into action for Christmas presents. I've also started knitting hats for my little cousins. It's a cheap and pretty easy present and actually is pretty relaxing. Hopefully they will like them. I think they will. I guess I will see when they get them.

That's awesome that your niece said that! How cute! We've got my nephew saying go Carl, if we can keep him still enough. lol And Sunday I got him to say Ho, Ho, Ho. He hasn't gotten the Merry Christmas part yet. We're working on it though. They are so cute at this age aren't they? I just love spending time with him. I was his buddy on Sunday, he just wanted me so that made me feel really good.

Okay, I am going to stop for now so you don't have to read an entire book when you log on next. I hope you enjoyed the race and I can't wait to hear what you think.

I'm not sure what to make out of Montoya. I can't decide if I like him or not. At one point I will start to like him, and then he cry's foul over piddly stuff or he gets really aggressive. He sometimes reminds me of another driver that I don't care for. This worries me for one reason though. Next year Jamie MacMurray is going to be driving on the same team. I like Jamie Mac. He's another Missouri boy to cheer for. And I'm happy he found another ride after having to leave Roush. But now his teammate is Montoya. I hope Montoya knows how to be a teammate, and they can work together. I guess I will just have to wait and see. It's going to be a long winter...

And then there was Stewart and Montoya. Wow, they really let each other have it. I guess Montoya started it by shoving at Tony. Then Tony shoved back and cut Montoya's tire down with his splitter. I'm not sure if that was done on purpose or not. I hope not, but I really don't know. So Montoya goes to the garage to fix the damage and when he comes out he intentionally rams Stewart from behind. Screwed up both of their cars. Nascar finally made a call and black flagged Montoya for two laps. Montoya is really aggressive still. Do you think he is used to getting his way in everything he does or what? I either heard or read a comment that Montoya finally shoved up against somebody that will not take that kind of stuff and will shove back, likely harder. I think that's true with Tony. He can be pretty aggressive too, he's just cooled it in recent years, especially this year. Maybe ownership has leveled his head a bit.

Okay, so the last race of the year. It was pretty good actually, could have been more exciting if Johnson was closer to the back. But all in all it was good. There were a few slow parts, but with all the people and kids around we all managed to stay entertained. lol As soon as I saw Johnson starting on the front row, I knew that it was pretty much a done deal. You could tell he was there to race. Mark Martin started off good too, but just couldn't hold the very top spots. I think fourth was the best he could do. Is that right? I was cheering for Ambrose. It looked like he was going to have a good day, but then disaster in the form of a flat. Aw man! I was even rooting for Kurt. Did you hear his comment in the post race interviews? I missed it, but I read about it. I sure hope he was joking, because otherwise he has been hanging out with his brother too much and I lose a lot of respect for him. I hope he was joking, but even joking it wasn't that funny.

The party was good. I love watching the race with a bunch of people and hearing what everyone has to say about the racing and the calls, etc. I raised my glass of Pepsi to you before the race started and sent good thoughts your way. lol
-
maybe he is thinking about striking out on his own and creating his own team sometime in the future? I wonder if he would take Knaus, or if Knaus would stay loyal? A very interesting thought.
-
Wow, that is great about Gordon. I'm glad for you that he signed a new contract. And at this point I'm beginning to think it is going to take someone like him to beat Jimmie Johnson next year. I'm not sure what the deal with Johnson is. Yes, he is the man of the hour and I guess of the last four years, but why not show a little loyalty. You would think he would appreciate that Gordon discovered him and both he and Hendrick backed Johnson. I guess he just wants to keep his options open for down the road, but really... Hendrick has always been a force to reckon with in the racing world. The whole money thing confuses me though. Like I said, Jimmie is the hot ticket right now, but he won't always be. Someone will come along and take away the Championship at some point. I wish that statement was explained a little better by Hendrick. Unless...

I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy the race on Sunday. I've got my fingers crossed for our drivers to have a good day!

The last race of the year. How depressing is that. Yuck. I'm looking forward to it, but not. Hopefully we will be able to keep each other entertained through the long winter with all the gossip and news coming out of the shops. lol It won't be long until it's February and then a whole new season (and the broadcast on Fox!) will begin. Yeah!
That's cool about Gordon being on Seasame Street. I will have to tell my brother. My nephew likes Melmo (that's how he says Elmo). So maybe they will watch it. Hey what kid doesn't like the Seasame Street show. I was glued to it as a kid. I'm still bummed out because I missed Carl on the Smarter than a fifth grader show. I can't find it on the internet either. I guess I need to look again. Maybe it's posted now. I really wanted to see it, but totally forgot to watch it. That's the way I usually do things. lol

Don't be jealous, you are more than welcome to come over! lol How long do you think it will take you to get to central Missouri? lol I'll save a spot for you on the couch. I think it will be fun. But you probably wouldn't like it a whole lot. There won't be any JJ fans there, so you'll here everyone cheering for Martin. Well, my young cousin will be cheering for Gordon. So you'll have a pal there. lol Any way, I will think of you and even have a toast, "Here's to Garrett Duke!" with my rootbeer.

I most definitely, and respectfully, have to disagree with you. Next year is Carl's year. Okay, maybe it's Martin's year. I really want Carl to win the Championship, but I'd also like to see Martin get a Championship before he retires again. So I'm wishy washy. So I guess Martin can have next year and then Carl can have the year after, then Gordon, then Stewart, then... um, Johnson again I guess? Notice how I left out one driver who thinks he should win everything all the time. I don't think he should win any until he grows up completely. lol Oh well, nobody ever listens to me so who knows how it will go. I just hope that more teams and drivers start figuring these cars out better and there is more competition. This year wasn't bad, but I want to see a Championship that has six or seven of the Chasers racing it out for the win at Homestead. That's my dream any way. Wouldn't that be exciting?

Maybe that's what has brought the change over Denny, his new teammate. I know everyone says how Stewart was/is a big cry baby and all, but I really don't think he was close to what Kyle has been doing. So maybe with Stewart gone and Kyle there, Denny is learning some bad habits. I don't know, but it sure does make me worry about Joey Logano. I think Joey has a lot of talent too, I just hope he doesn't act like his teammates. I'm still on the fence with Brad K. I'm impressed that he won't let so called veterans walk all over him, but I do hope he at least respects them to some extent. I will admit, I was pretty steamed with him after the flyover with Carl at Talladega this spring. But I eventually told myself that Brad was just doing what everyone else would try to do, so it wasn't really his fault. So I moved on and got over it. Maybe he does need to learn how to bump and rub without over doing it, and learn how to overcome those impulses that tell him to bump as hard as he can.

Okay, so this is really my last post. lol I forgot to ask if you are doing anything special or anything for the last race of the year? We are having a party at my brother's house. We're making it into kind of a superbowl party, but with Nascar. We are having a Nascar cake that looks like a race track. (I found the recipe and instructions online.) All kinds of snacks, even some race car shaped crackers with olives for wheels. lol It's going to be fun. So are you doing anything special for the last race of the season?
Hope to hear from you soon!

Alright, so here is the last post I have for now. It's your turn to read a novel when you log back on. lol Thanks for all of your messages though, I do love hearing your opinion on it all.
Okay, don't get mad at me, but I am one of those people that don't really care for Jimmie Johnson. But remember I didn't care for Gordon in the past, but he has grown on me quite a bit. I used to not be able to stand JJ, but now I reserve that feeling for Kyle Busch. So JJ has risen in my estimation. He is very talented, I just don't... I don't even know how to explain it. Anyway, I will probably still root against him, unless it comes to him and Kyle Busch. But that doesn't mean anything. He's got a long career ahead of him and he is definitely a great driver. You're not mad right? Right?
-
I woke up as they were interviewing the drivers after the race, and then wasn't awake enough to really take anything in. I did see Martin's interview and you are right. He was so down in the dumps over his chances for the Championship. Poor guy. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. (I think that's how the old saying goes.) Well, maybe next year will be his year. I can only hope that he and Carl are racing for the Championship together. And Gordon too for you, to get his fifth. JJ is not allowed to win another for a couple of years at least. Hopefully he's listening to me. lol
-
This may shock you, but I didn't even watch the race.
I listened to the first 60 laps or so on the radio while I was driving from my brother's house to my parents. Then I went inside just as it started pouring rain. So the combination of laying on the couch, the rain on the roof, and staying up sooooo late the night before (besides not sleeping real well on the couch) caused me to fall asleep. Gasp! I'm such a bad fan.

I agree with you on the retaliation being not good for any of the other drivers on the track. But with emotions running that high, acting on impulse is bound to happen. I've even seen Carl retaliating and he's usually pretty laid back and focused on the job at hand. Some of these drivers are pretty intense, so I'm sure they have a hard time reigning in the impulse and urge to create havoc for the person that bumped them. The few things I have read, the writers are painting Brad K as Nascar's next bad guy and comparing him to Dale Sr. The articles also said that Jr and Hendrick support Brad and don't think he did anything wrong. I'm holding my judgement for now on Brad and will wait and see what next season brings. Apparently he is making a lot of people mad though, not just Hamlin. So I guess he'd better watch his back... and his side... and his front... lol
