Pilot Anniversary!
MonacoMan and 2 others reacted to floyd012010 for a topic
I watched all of season one starting Thursday night and finished yesterday. I'm from Georgia so those first 5 episodes will always be my favorites. Still such a great show and still holds up even after 44 years. I dug out my old PS2 and been playing Return of the General Lee last night and this morning. Love that game, except trying to keep Daisy from going off into the canyon lol.3 points -

For anyone that likes it, here's the vid from John Schneider that drove my General Lee with me riding shotgun, also the rest of the tine we spent with him at the comic con. Some shots of my car to see it better.3 points -

High Octane has some great moments. Boss and Rosco were great in that one and you could really see how great they were as a team. I liked how the Boar's Nest looked early on in the California episodes. It was darker and had the poles holding up the roof. It was closer to how it looked in the pilot. Hazzard County in the California episodes looked like Walnut Grove in Little House On The Prairie with the hills, dirt roads and trees. My wife always says that. We watch both shows and always get a kick out of how similar they look. Georgia really doesn't look exactly like that but it gave a feeling of the south.3 points -
Repo Men

I do believe that the Ghost of General Lee is my all time favorite DOH episode. All the characters put so much emotion into that one. Especially Uncle Jesse. I just wanted to hug him at the Boar's Nest when Rosco told him the boys were gone. And the relief and excitement at seeing the boys outside of their wake is enough to make you smile in relief too.2 points -

You know Repo Men is one of my favorites but what about The Ghost of General Lee? that's a good one too I think! * Also this is the episode where Boss gets his OWN name wrong and CB's Rosco...." This is J.P Hogg~!"2 points -
Hello from NW Georgia
Skipper Duke reacted to floyd012010 for a topic
Hello from the south, been a long time dukes fan for over 40 years now and still love the show. Been to most all the Georgia filming sites with other dukes fans and have owned my old charger since 1999. Had the uniform on it for over 10 years and had to do a re paint in 2012. It is still hemi orange but with a black R/T stripe and magnum 500 wheels. 493 ci with a 4 speed, has plenty of attitude for a resto looking charger.1 point -
Dukes 44th anniversary
Garrett Duke reacted to floyd012010 for a topic
How many watched the Dukes Friday night?? I started with one armed bandits and finished all of season one today. January 26, 1979 was a day or night that will always be in my memories. I was 5 years old and my mom said I had never sat still that long ever lol. Them first five episodes will always be my favorites since they were filmed in Georgia. Still such a good show.1 point -

Dukes 44th anniversary
Hobie Hartkins reacted to RogerDuke for a topic
The Dukes of Hazzard was so popular back then that it actually lowered attendance at Friday night football games across the country because it was before you could record them. I was 19 and never missed an episode. I was born on the day John Schneider turned ONE WEEK old!1 point -

I love the Georgia episodes...I feel like they were more real or life like. I don't know. Something like that. LOL. Though I do like others that weren't in GA...but as MonacoMan said, those shows seemed more realistic.1 point -
Yeah, the real-life Georgia locations gave a more realistic, southern, down-home charm to the beginning of the show. But, I guess they could control background & what needed to happen in each episode better on a studio lot. I too love the original Georgia locations, but I did love the Duke farm & The Boar’s Nest at Warner Bros. The town square was cool, too and worked for the chases & ripping around.1 point

Serge's General Lee

Thanks guys! I had 3 General Lee's before, now I wanted a specific one. At the time LEE1 was hot and after seeing Travis his DVD about the car I loved it. That's why I made a replica LEE1. And if you replicate it, do it right and accurate. Only thing that isn't right is my rearseat. LEE1 didn't have it and I do. Otherwise I can't take my son along ;)1 point -
Valencia Oaks Movie Ranch
CHUNKEYMONKEY40 reacted to HossC for a topic
I read online that the Boar's Nest building was blown up in a 1994 movie called 'Forced to Kill'. I looked it up on IMDb, and found it stars Dukes stuntman Corey Eubanks, who also wrote and produced it. It also features Mickey Jones (B.B. Davenport in 'Granny Annie') and a brief appearance of fellow Dukes stuntman Al Wyatt Jr. Other stars include Michael Ironside ('Top Gun', 'Total Recall' etc.), Don Swayze (Patrick's brother), and Rance and Clint Howard (Ron's father and brother). I was surprised to discover the full movie on YouTube, but it's R-rated, so I won't post a link. What I will do is post a link to a short video featuring Corey talking about a stunt for the movie. The stunt shown takes place next to the Boar's Nest, but it's not visible in this clip: The Boar's Nest building does appear very briefly near the end of the movie, but, contrary to the report I read, only a vehicle blows up and not the building. I managed to get a couple of grabs which show it to be in a very rundown state; the roof is sagging and it looks like it's been left open to the elements. Knowing that the Google Earth timeline feature goes back to 1994 in this area, I decided to check it out. The image below is dated June 1st 1994, and shows a clear lot where the Boar's Nest once stood ("5" on the map). If the Boar's Nest was blown up, it must've been between the filming of 'Forced to Kill' and 1/6/94 - I'll keep looking!1 point
