Not to worry, Spike, thanks for keeping us updated. There are more and more names I don't recognize in the results - I'll have to try and catch a race again sometime. I was up early this morning (6am local time) to watch the Australian Grand Prix - the first to be held there since 2019. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc snatched pole position yesterday ahead of the two Red Bulls. His team mate, Carlos Sainz Jr., got caught out by a red flag and only qualified 9th. Mercedes still haven't got a handle on their new car, but Lewis Hamilton and George Russell qualified 5th and 6th behind the McLaren of Lando Norris. In the race, Carlos Sainz Jr. had a bad start and then beached his car in the gravel after only one lap. Both Mercedes cars made up places at the start, but it was Charles Leclerc's Ferrari and Max Verstappen's Red Bull that led the way for most of the race. George Russell managed to leapfrog Lewis Hamilton by pitting under a safety car. Towards the end, Max Verstappen had another mechanical failure, which means that he's had two DNFs in three races. Maybe it's karma for the way he won last year's championship! The top 10 were: 1 Charles Leclerc Ferrari 2 Sergio Perez Red Bull 3 George Russell Mercedes 4 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 5 Lando Norris McLaren 6 Daniel Ricciardo McLaren 7 Esteban Ocon Alpine 8 Valtteri Bottas Alfa Romeo 9 Pierre Gasly AlphaTauri 10 Alex Albon Williams That's three British drivers in the top 5, a good double points finish for McLaren, and the first point of the year for Williams. I bet it was a heart attack. They said he was found with his hand clenched on his chest. He did a two hour stand up routine that night and many witnesses said that he didn't drink much water out of the bottle on stage for him. It's interesting his comedy was so raunchy considering he played such a vanilla character on Full House. Though you could see his dirty mind come out a little bit as host on America's Funniest Home Videos.

Yep Skipper. When he coached the Raiders I couldn't stand the guy because of how he acted. Same here but I hated him because of Miami!

They always seemed to beat them, even in the years when Pittsburgh was good and Oakland was down. When he became an announcer I couldn't stand him. Through the years my opinion slowly changed. Eventually he was my favorite announcer. BOOM! What a legend. Most kids today don't know much about him except for the video game. Just like most kids don't know much about Dukes except Daisy Duke shorts. Thank goodness Madden never wore them.

My uncle and Aunt were going to have all their clan over for Christmas so they bought everyone Covid tests. Their big get together turned into a small one. 3 of my cousins got Covid. 2 got the J&J vaccine and the other is unvaccinated. So far they all just have minor symptoms. Wife and I got our boosters today. One of my wife's coworkers actually got it twice. First time she got it it wasn't bad but the 2nd time, which was probably the Delta variant, kept her in bed for a week. She still refuses to get vaccinated.

We got rain here . Some weird weather we're having here lately, one day in the upper 40's next day 20 with wind chills in the single digits or -0's. My brother in law bought a snow blower attachment for his lawn mower only to find out it wouldn't fit so he went out and bought a new mower which got delivered a few days ago so yesterday I helped him hook the blower up. We almost got it all hooked up but the last belt refused to go around a pulley. So we detached the one thing to move it up to get the belt around the pulley which worked but then we couldn't get the dang thing hooked back up to the bottom of the mower lol. He called the place he bought the new mower from and they're coming out to finish it some time this week.

I'm sitting here watching the Cardinals vs Rams game. James Conner just scored another touchdown. He was leading the NFL in TDs this year. He went to high school near me. I've talked to him a couple times. The best player in the NHL, Connor McDavid went to the same school (McDowell, Erie Pa) and is friends with my nephew.
