According to wikipedia the "law" itself goes back to writings of Augustus De Morgan in the 1860's though others have also 'coined' the term or a similar one throughout history. Murphy gets attached to it in the late 1940's early 1950's during high speed g force testing at the Edwards air force base when Edward Murphy developed sensors read zero after a test. Whether Murphy said it or one of the other scientists is still up for debate.

    NASCAR news

William Byron won the Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead miami yesterday leading over 100 laps and winning the 2nd stage blowing past the battling Gibbs teammates on a late stage restart. Early on it looked like the race would be dominated by the Penske teammates. Then Chris Buescher came out of nowhere showing some speed from the Roush stable that hasn't been seen in a decade winning stage 1. Unfortunately the 17 car was not setup for the later part of the race when it transitioned into night and fell back to the teens. His teammate Ryan Newman faired better when the track transitioned eventually finishing 7th. Michael McDowell also had a good race in the final stage finishing 6th now if the FRR pit crew can get better at pitstops he could be a contender for the playoffs well beyond the round of 16. Tyler Reddick was the fastest car late in the race, with 10 to go he made up 8.3 seconds of a 11 second deficit to the leader William Byron. If he would have been able to pass Kyle Larson and Martin Tried jr faster he would have caught Byron on the final lap as he was gaining about 1 second a lap. Here's the top 10. 1 William Byron 2 Tyler Reddick 3 Martin Truex jr 4 Kyle Larson 5 Kevin Harvick 6 Michael McDowell 7 Ryan Newman 8 Kurt Busch 9 Alex Bowman 10 Kyle Busch

It appears to be called Zombie House Flipping. There's an article about it here.

    The last 24 hours

So I was flipping through the streaming channels this morning and came across a show called zombie house or zombie flippers or something. I ended up watching almost the whole episode and I don't know if their other episodes show them in a better light but this one showed what not to do when 'flipping' a house. They bought a house that needed substantial renovating because they had a buyer already lined up to buy it when it was done. One thing they should have gotten done first was the last thing they repaired which was the leaking roof. First thing they did after demo was plumbing then drywall. One of the flippers turned the water main back in without realizing the plumbing wasn't finished in one of the bathrooms so the bathroom got flooded . Since the roof wasn't fixed it leaked inside when it rained so they just painted over the water stains on the new drywall. They had a big oak tree cut down but the company left a couple of logs behind for a 2nd load pickup but the one flipper flipped out because he scheduled sod for that day. So two of the flippers ask one of the subs if they can load the logs on his Blazer, guy says yeah, big mistake. The flippers ended up totalling the Blazer trying to load one of the logs with the log mover. 3rd week into the quick flip they find out the buyer has some past financial issues and backed out, you'd think they would have had the buyer show them a pre-approval letter or something from the lender. Now that they're selling it themselves they store a bunch of staging furniture in the garage and since the roof wasn't fixed yet an overnight rain shower leaked into the garage ruining all the staging furniture as well as drywall in the garage which they had no choice but to replace this time. When they finally get the roof replaced they went with the cheapest bid and you could definitely see that in the sped up video when the roof guys left 1/2 inch+ gaps between some of the 4x8 osb sheets. I feel sorry for whoever bought that house.

    The Cartoon

I agree with most of what you are saying but despite the cartoon's faults I loved them and thought they were worth every penny. Maybe having them travel the world was Warner Brothers way of attracting a larger world-wide audience. If that was their strategy it would have worked better in season 2 and not season 5. It would have been awesome if they would have stayed in Hazzard. Still, I bet Hoss likes the ones that were based in his neighborhoods, including the Christmas episode.

  11. Being normal would be pretty boring so be thankful you're not normal Hobie. I bet I have a lot more things that make me "not normal" than you do. That's why people like being around me...,I'm not boring.

    The Cartoon

Roger reviewed all the cartoon episodes and we had a discussion about them at the end of last year - you can read about them in the Saturday Morning Dukes Cartoon thread.

    map of Hazzard

Here's some more counties. Most of them just get mentioned in a single line. Chicamahawny comes up in a few episodes (sometimes as a place rather than a county), and is spelled at least three different ways. I also remember Hatchapee being spelled Hatchipee in an episode. I'll have to do some more digging to work out which county belongs to which episode. Clarion County Cherokee County Grand County Chicamahawny County Claridge County Placid County Polk County Milford County Plainview County Riverton County Rapaho County Fulton County And don't forget Rockdale County and Newton County - the real places in Georgia where they filmed. BTW. When Roger says they're in his notebook, it's an actual notebook, not a computer!

    map of Hazzard

Some of the inconsistencies can be difficult to deal with. For example, on "The Runaway", Mabel Tillingham says the Dukes live on Mill Pond Road which is 18 miles from Hazzard. Two episodes later, Lester Crabb (Treasure of Hazzard) says they live on Mill Road. For my map, I'm going with Mill Pond Road because I trust the phone operator more than a visiting sheriff that was only there one episode and probably left a word out. Also, "Mill Pond" is mentioned in other episodes. Speaking of inconsistencies, Mabel Tillingham is listed as Myrtle Tillingham on the closing credits. I'll trust the folks of Hazzard more than the credits on that one.

    The Cartoon

I don't know if there's a cartoon post or not, so here goes.....I've only seen about half the 20 episodes ( wife bought me the entire collection for Christmas) . They are VERY boring! Flash doesn't look right with his hat and Rosco doesn't look like Rosco....they drew everybody else well....why not him? They keep hoping around to other countries....WHY??? I'd rather see them on the farm, like on TV! Why do they have to travel? That's not TDOH! I know it's a cartoon but these plots were even MORE simple than the TV show!! WHERE IS COOTER??? ( I don't like Ben Jones but the show needs Cooter and I DO like him!) If you like these things, that's fine.....everybody has their own opinion. I'm just glad I didn't spend MY money on them!
