This is the way they write in the town I live in. I tell the Yankees ....don't judge the South by this town. If this was like the rest of the South, you and your preconceived ideas about us would be right! One of the jobs I got with my big fine college education, was as a janitor at the local middle school. The vice principal, with a masters degree in Sociology, told me to put up this sign , " Fall Registeration will be......." I said, you want me to put this up just like you wrote it? She says, yes, why not? I said it's Registration, the noun, NOT register ( ation???) which is a verb! I asked her, you didn't major in English did you? LOL!3 points -
Hey y’all, Well, it was officially a year ago yesterday at the time of writing that I started this project. Unfortunately, cold weather, family commitments, an international pandemic and two bereavements got in the way of things. Well, I’ve made some progress! I’ve painted the dash, centre console and steering wheel (ended up using the wrong Tamiya colour ‘Deck Tan’), I’ve also started on the rollbar and done the first coats on the oil pan and firewall. I also have those long overdue photos for you that will be ready very soon! 10:4 Joe2 points

I used to work in a building which also housed a crèche and an after-schools club for older children. Someone put up signs in the bathrooms about not using "alot of toilet paper". I took them down and replaced them with signs about not using "a lot of toilet paper". About half the people who noticed me changing them couldn't see anything wrong with the original signs! I pointed out that that was exactly the reason I was changing them, so that the kids didn't get the wrong spelling reinforced in their minds. Similar to the "Registeration" story, a local upmarket hotel had "Enterance 100m" on its sign for months a couple of years ago. They eventually changed it.1 point -
I must be one of the only people that actually likes colder weather and snow in Ohio. Yesterday was a nice mid 30's temperature but everyone I talked to yesterday was raving about how nice it was last Friday and Saturday with the 50 degrees and how the temps yesterday sucked lol.1 point

Don't know if anyone here has ever seen the show Shipping Wars but over the weekend I seen the guy that drives the blue Kenworth getting off the local interstate. He still has that truck. Thought that was kind of neat. Looks like 2020 isn't going to give us a white Christmas, we could possibly be 50 degrees on Christmas day.1 point

Thanks, Roger! First off... I never thought I'd ever get to meet any of the cast members. That was so cool! He is such a nice, down to earth guy, and in some ways does remind me of the character, Cooter. I was delighted to hear that he still had the Cooter like accent! We went a little early, so the line was relatively short. We only had to wait 5 or 10 minutes to get to actually talk to him and his wife. She, too, is a very sweet lady. I was laughing a little bit at Ben because he was talking to a couple in front of us who had a little baby girl. Ben was all excited and was going on about how cute the kid was, and saying he loved taking his picture with pretty girls like her, etc... and his wife saw me laughing a little because I was surprised that being a big actor, he would take the time to be so friendly. Well, she saw me enjoying that, and it looked like she started laughing a little, too. My sister could barely compose herself in line. Her knees were a shaking, and I can only imagine how high her blood pressure went! She had to grab me just to stand! Okay Roger... into the details, now!! We only talked a couple minutes. But he was saying that he was the one who made up the "Crazy Cooter CB Talk" and that he jotted it down on an old envelope, and that envelope is in some museum. But he signed my sister's 7th season of the Dukes DVDs and a General Lee shirt. He asked our names, and started singing a little bit with my sister's name in the song. (He actually sings pretty good!) Then he did his Crazy Cooter CB speech but inserted our names in it. "Breaker 1, Breaker 1 might be crazy but I ain't dumb, Crazy Cooter comin' at ya. Laura, Lindsay, Y'all home on the Hazzard Net? Come Back." That was AWESOME! Then we got to stand next to the General Lee and got our picture taken with Ben. While the picture was being taken, he said "Eat your heart out, Bo Duke" and laughed. After all that, he gave us a hug, gave a couple compliments, and off we went. That is when Laura stared crying because it was so special to her. I almost started crying because she was so happy! That was a great day! Has anyone else ever met any of the cast members? Oh, I know what you mean, Roger, Ben was saying how the Dukes really is a family show, and you can tell that he is proud to have been involved in that! I am really glad I got to go. Congratulations General Grant!! That's great to hear. He is an awesome guy. The thing I like the most about him is that he is a genuine fan of the show and not just a person who acted in it. I'm sure that statement can be said about a lot of the actors but Ben Jones REALLY loves The Dukes of Hazzard. How long did you get to talk to him? Did you get a picture or autograph? How long was the line? Tell us more......1 point -

Keep us posted on who went. I don't know what the forecast is up there but the weather around Lake Erie is supposed to be horrible this weekend. Keep it between the white ditches if y'all go.1 point -

Actually, yeah, a couple of friends of mine are going ( fellow HNet members ) and I'm going to try to make the trip. Not sure which day yet, depends on the friggin' weather. Green Bay is not a happy town right now onconna Brett Favre's retirement, so hopefully the car show will cheer 'em up.1 point -

Go to the Rosco thread to hear some of the experiences at Canton Ohio. Hopefully all 4 of us (maybe even more) will tell stories over the next couple days. Luckily Rosco didn't catch any of us in his speed trap and cuff us and stuff us.1 point -
