I decided I might as well poke my head in and wish everyone a happy holiday season. Life has been crazy for the past year and a half to two years. What's everyone thankful for this holiday season? Heres mine: A little over a year ago, I had a major change which surprised me. About 5 or 6 years ago, my mom told me one of hers and her now fiance's friends was interested in me. I didn't believe her and made up a few excuses about why I wasn't interested (I was actually interested but didn't believe her. My self esteem wasn't the best among other reasons). I honestly didn't believe it until late August or early September of 2018, when he…

Happy Sadie Hogg Day Everyone! In locals other than Hazzard, I would also like to wish everyone a happy APRIL FOOLS DAY! But seriously, in Hazzard, as per the TV series, today is Sadie Hogg Day... This is the day that the men take the day off and the women take over. Anyone want to paint the patrol cars Pink? Purple? Anyone?

Oh my goodness. Garrett Duke has been an active member of HazzardNet for over 20 years now, joining Jan 24, 2004. That's 20 years and 2 days ago. Thank you so much for all your posts over these past 2 decades Garrett. But most of all thank you for being friends to all of us. You are the best of the best around this place, always friendly, funny, helpful, respectful and nice to everybody. You are irreplaceable and we are so lucky and blessed that you have been a part of our family for so long and we look forward to many more great memories being made with you. We love you and appreciate you and are honored to be your friends. ❤

Is it just me or does it seem like we're drifting apart a little bit here on the HazzardNet? I suppose it's only natural. Families tend to do that in these busy times. But it's about time we reversed the trend. Starting Thursday Sept 1st we are going to be holding a monthly chat room meeting to keep better in touch. It's not going to be easy considering we have folks in Europe and folks on the United States Pacific Coast but we just can't sit back and see ourselves drift apart like we've been doing. I'll post a reminder a couple days before every month's end. Then, on the first day of every month, I'll be in the chat room at 7:00 pm EST hoping to talk to some of my Hazz…

I just reread the Tragedy in My Life thread that I started last summer and it reminded me how lucky I am to have found this place over 17 years ago. I thank God for my family here. When my (step) daughter helped me find Hazzardnet in March 2007 it was the first time I ever used a computer. And to this day it is the best reason computers even exist. Good luck finding a better website in the world. But this isn't about tragedy or computers. It's about love and family. I now have 15,000 posts. Yes, I am bragging. But I am also complimenting every one of you. If you weren't such amazing people I wouldn't have stayed around so long to accumulate such a number. And I woul…

Garrett's Bears beat my Steelers by three points today and the Bears are having a great year. Where are you Garrett? You should be here to tease me about beating the Steelers. I looked up to see how the Bears got their name. The Cubs already existed and the Bears owner George Hallas thought football players were bigger, tougher and stronger than baseball players so went with Bears.......now known as DaBears.

I tried to start this on another site but the writers were a bit to sensitive and took the ideas displayed there as an insult(even though I said from the start that nothing was directed at anyone). This was done by a fellow writer in another fandom and all of the writers really had a great time doing this. I know that all of us have read stories in the past that we just knew that the characters would cringe at some of the things that we writers have them do. So, let's let each person write a small note in the voice of the character of their choice speaking to fanfiction writers about what most go off the course or put the characters in a light that just isn't them. I…

Hi y'all.* Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been really busy with school exams and studying and things like that. I'd just like y'all to take a minute to remember a teacher who I had last year who unfortunately passed away the other day. Orlaith Donahue, was my religion teacher for part of last year. She had finished her teaching degree in 2011. It was always her dream to work in Terenure College, where I go to school. She had extra Irish classes with one of the teachers in the school, and was passionate about religion and teaching. Her dream came true over the summer months of 2011, when Orlaith was offered a permanent job as a religion and English teacher in Ter…

I figured we'd have fun but it was even better than I thought! I'll be looking for my fellow citizens of Hazzard, Saturday at 11:00 A.M. ( Central)

I would appreciate if you folks could keep my family and especially my dad in your thoughts and prayers. He's he in the hospital right now. This is his second visit this year. He's undergoing a lot of tests and as you can imagine, I'm worried about him, especially since I can't travel to see him at the moment.

A few years ago I told my wife I wasn't going to feel old until all four of our parents died. Then we lost her mom and then my mom. Now it's my Dad. He was definitely an Uncle Jesse type....even drove a white F-150. Lived for the outdoors. He had been sick a few months and several times said he was ready to go. Tough stuff.

Hey y'all One of my friends recently asked me to go with her to her debs (the Irish equivalent of a prom). We're really close and have both agreeded not to become boyfriend and girlfriend incase we end up fighting and falling out. Anyway my problem is that I won't be 18 when the debs is on. We both thought that the age wouldnt matter, but now the parents association and venue staff are saying that all people under 18 must be out of the venue by midnight. Apparently I'm going to be one of the only if not the only 17 year old there (most will be eighteen and a half, some even nineteen). We first started jokingly saying that I should get a fake id of some kind, but now it…
