I have some news from Tom Sarmento. He has had many people asking him how they can show the Baxley family their expressions of sorrow over the loss of stunt coordinator Paul Baxley. The Baxley family will be having a memorial service later this month for Paul. Tom will be attending. He said that he wants to help the "Dukes" fans so this is what he has come up with. Tom thinks it best if people who want to do something send cards. That way each person can write whatever they personally want to say on the card. Then mail the card to him at his home address. 10th annual Canton Hot Rod show. She's only ther one day so anyone going get there early. She's gonna be there 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m - 9:30 p.m. Not sure who's General Lee they are using as I have yet to be contacted.

I've just seen the sad news that Clifton James has passed away. Known to millions as Sheriff J.W. Pepper in the James Bond movies 'Live and Let Die' and 'The Man with the Golden Gun', he was known to us Hazzardites as Sheriff Lester Crabb in 'Treasure of Hazzard'. He died yesterday (Saturday) due to complications from diabetes. He was either 95 or 96, depending on whether you believe the date of birth quoted on IMDb or Wikipedia - the news outlets all seem to be going with 96.

Congratulations to "Slick ", a/k/a Christopher Nelson, who was awarded the CMT VP gig. Formal announcement to be made at DukesFest, but CNN hit the wire with it this morning, so what the hell. Got an email from cooters place and they said on there website that the gatlinburg store is closing and they are going to open it back up in pigeon forge, and the general that they have on display down ther is up for SALE 20,000 has 318 engine, not used in the shows but has been on tv.

"Daisy Dukes" have officially been added to the Oxford English Dictionary, 46 years after we first saw them on screen. They are among over 230 new words/terms that will now appear in the OED. The Irish Sun (national tabloid newspaper) even made it their featured addition in this article. You can see the dictionary entry here. In case you weren't sure about the definition: Daisy Dukes, noun colloquial (originally and chiefly U.S.). Brief, tight-fitting denim shorts, typically made from a pair of cut-off jeans and usually worn by women. Also as a modifier with the first element in singular form, in Daisy Duke shorts.

I'm not a Dancing With the Stars fan but my wife is. I've never even heard of most of the "stars" on there. Since my wife watches it I will sit on the couch occasionally with her. Last night was the finals and one of the songs they were playing was California Girls that mentions "Daisy Dukes" shorts. They then immediately went to a commercial and the commercial after that was one of Bo and Luke's AutoTrader commercials. I'm not a huge fan of those since the boys would never really trade the General but I am a huge fan of the Dukes still being a part of our culture. Just found out Bo Duke is going to be on "Dancing With the Stars"! My wife loves the show. I'll watch it occasionally just to hang out with her but never really paid too much attention. Now I have a reason to watch. I bet they'll be doing a lot of jumps.

I know the current seasons are selling good and 3 and 4 will do the same. I have to wonder though what will happen with Coy and Vance come to town. Will the DVD sales tank and then we'll lose releases on the final 2 seasons? Or will they not release the Coy and Vance Episodes? I'd like to have the Coy and Vance episodes. I know I'm in the minority. I definitely want to own all the seasons.

This makes the third time they are being skipped. Now don't get me wrong I hated the time Tom and John were away too, but they made their choice and did what they felt was right. Having said that it is not fair to the folks that worked on those shows to not have their part of Dukes history shown. CMT needs to rectify this now and give this show proper respect by showing all episodes, evem if they are edited in spots. Robbie
