Movies

Debate which of the three Smokey and the Bandit movies were the best (I'll give you a hint, it wasn't the third). Or just talk about your other favorite movies.

AKA, "The Burt Reynolds in NASCAR" movie. It's a good flashback to the olden days of Winston Cup, complete with a slew of driver cameos (poor Cale Yarborough is reduced to working with a chimp!) and decent race footage. Gotta love that Chicken Pit slogan..."The Fastest Chicken in the South." But that's not even the best line in the movie: Charlie (the crew guy played by Alfie Wise): "What's so bad about second?" Stroker and Lugs: "SCREW SECOND!!"

Anyone ever see SPEED ZONE with John Candy and Eugene Levy? John Schneider has a small cameo appearance, and their are some cool cars in it, including a Lamborghini Countach.

  10. Super Troopers was amusing. Anyone who likes R rated adult humor, will probably enjoy this flick. The actual plot wasn't a bad idea. Having other people play Starsky and Hutch was interesting. While Paul and David are the originals, Ben and Owen did a good job. Had this been about new characters, I would have enjoyed it just as much because of the storyline.

Man , what a movie...The last day of High School in 1976.Arguably one of the better "generation" movies along with American Graffiti and Fast Times At Ridgemont High...Plus the cast. Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Parker Posey, Joey lauren Adams... Who can forget the 70's rock music in the movie and all the cars.... Anybody who likes racin' movies will love this one. It is based on an article "The Last American Hero is Junior Johnson" by Tom Wolfe and appeared in Esquire magazine back in the 60's. the movie came out in 73 and stars Jeff Bridges as Junior Jackson , the son of a moonshiner who has dreams of racin in NASCAR. Gary Busey is his brother. I got this from IMDB http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0070287/usercomments A Real Legendary Movie, 6 October 2004 Author: Paul-308 from USA This is what the Dukes of Hazzard could have been,or at least this help inspired the Dukes.Junior Jackson drives a Mustang fastback,he runs moonshine in it,he outruns the revenoors in it,he races it on th…

I had to add these movies ...The story of the late Sheriff Buford Pusser of McNairy Co, TN. There will never be another like him . Someone who fought corruption and illegal activities HIS way.

Anybody here ever see the movie The Villain with Kirk Douglas, Ann-Margaret, and Arnold Schwarzenegger? It's a classic good guy wins, bad guy gets pummeled in so many different funny ways type movie. Think live-action Wile E. Coyote. LOL. It's directed by Hal Needham, who happened to work on Smokey and the Bandit, Hooper, the Cannonball Run movies, and whole slew of other Burt Reynolds movies. Kirk Douglas plays the villain, Cactus Jack, who is hired to rob Charming Jones (Ann-Margaret) after she inherits a large sum of money. She is escorted by Handsome Stranger (Ah-nold). I remember seeing this movie with my dad when I was younger. Perhaps I should rent it and see if it…

This in my guess, is the best trucker flick of all time. It came out in 1975, with jan michael vincent, and kay lenz. Jan, plays a honest trucker that just came back from the war, and his fathers company, (his father died) went dirty. It shows what, the company did to keep him from shutting them down.

I'm gonna recommend a couple o' flicks for all us motorheads. Most of these will not be Oscar nominated movies...but hell, we're Dukes fans, so critical acclaim ain't no concern. For a Hazzard-esque feel, sans moonshine, I recommend a little-known movie called "Eat My Dust", starring Ron Howard, circa 1976. Rated PG by the standards in the day. It's my own opinion that some of the Dukes writers borrowed a little bit from the look and feel of this movie. There's a scene in particular that will be instantly familair - where an orange car goes barreling around in a field, spitting up clouds of dust to confound a police cruiser. It looks so much like the end credits s…

Anyone into semi-gory horror movies? If so, check out Wrong Turn, if you haven't already. It's like the movie Deliverence, I've been told, since I haven't seen that one yet.
