Believe it or not, we actually finished a project around here! Our FAQ page has been updated with more Dukes of Hazzard facts. The topics were taken from the scores of email questions we've received over the years. We've also thrown in a couple little-known tidbits and included a brief history of DukesFest. This ain't as robust as the tough stuff that runs on the Trivia thread, but it's a good overview of the popular topics. HazzardNet FAQ

Folks, several people have been signing up with inappropriate and destructive links in their profiles. To stop this behavior and to protect our membership, I have decided to disable website links in member profiles. I realize this is somewhat of a penalty for those of you who have websites, but it is needed to prevent our membership from getting viruses from these sites and to protect those of our members who are minors from stumbling onto some incredibly disgusting and inappropriate websites. The latest batch of new member profiles had links to sites that were riddled with viruses and trojans. Tactics like these are usually done by outsiders with no interest in sticking …

We have updated the forums to new software. We've imported the old forums, but you'll all need to recreate your avatars. There was some sort of glitch with that operation. For workin' triple overtime to restore HazzardNet, after the most horrendous crash we've had in our history. You took the place from smoking ruins, to business as usual , in just about 24 hours, give r' take. You gave up your holiday, along with a good deal of sleep, to do it. Sometimes I forget - or take for granted - the technical side of this place, until somethin' goes wrong. HazzardNet has survived hostile attacks by hackers, it has survived MaryAnne, ( j/k ! ) and it has survived server disruptions and hardware failures. I'm going to be changing things up in the forums here and I want your input on a few things: 1) Are there any sub-forums you'd like to be removed? They will be archived, not deleted. 2) Are there any sub-forums you think we can merge? (I'm thinking Latest News and Dukes of Hazzard News to start...) 3) Which sub-forums do you use the most and would like to be moved near the top? Feel free to post a list of the way you think the sub-forums should be listed top to bottom. That's it to start. I'll be posting some more questions for input later.

Brian posted a pic today on Facebook of the General Lee jumping with the caption "Happy Humpday" (since it's Wednesday). Well, one of our Facebook fans, Dawn, being the Dukes of Hazzard fan she is, corrected us. It's Happy JUMP Day! I don't know why Brian didn't think of that. It's what I pay him for. LOL. Anyway, we hereby decree that from this day forward, all Wednesdays shall henceforth be known as JUMP DAY! Yeeeeeehhhhhhaaaa! Not yet a fan of our Facebook page? Guess who turned 20 years old on January 11th? Completely slipped my mind. I started HazzardNet on 1/11/1999. I want to thank everyone who has helped make HazzardNet what it is and who've stuck with me all these years. I know I haven't been around much lately due to health issues and stress from work, so I'm incredibly grateful so many of you are still here keeping the spirit of the Dukes alive.

It's that time of year, when stuff starts to fly south. Like, our server. If you've experienced slow loading times on any of our pages, we apologize. We've been aware of the issue and are taking steps to resolve it. We have a server migration scheduled for this weekend. It's possible that there may be some temporary downtime of HazzardNet in the process. Hang in there, and we'll have all the scuffs and dents hammered out before ya know it. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

A lot of folks help keep an eye on this place, and sometimes we're not recognizing them like we should. Tonight I'm givin' a big ol' HazzardNet Hollar to Val Strate, for reporting a spammer in our Forums. Val, thank ya for finding the problem and going the extra step of notifying us about it. Sal-ute ! The chat room has been integrated into the new forums. Just click on the "Chat" option in the forums navbar and choose to chat in a forum web page or have the chat room pop open in another window. You can view how many people are chatting in the upper right hand corner of the forums under the Private Messages listing. Have fun chatting!

Don't know if anyone on here knows yet,but Whitney Houston passed away yesterday She was found unresponsive in her Beverly Hills hotel room, and despite 20 minutes of resuscitation she was pronounced dead. Police say there's no sign of foul play,and the coroner has yet to perform an autopsy. R.I.P Whitney,you will never be forgotten.
