Watched the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction most of the past few nights. John Schneider's General Lee affectionately known as Bo's General Lee sold for $450,000. He drove it on stage , played the dixie horn and then got on the roof and got the crowd to sing " Good Ol' Boys'" and said a few times that it was the most recognizable car in the world. John even did his "jump" into the car on TV. Great TV moment. Bidding opened up at it sort of stalled at $200,000 for a bit then John got on the mic trying to give some history about it. Even made a comment about "the other guys" and his was a real GL movie used car all be it the reunion movie Hazzard In Hollywood. But it …

Found it on somebodys myspace page, they were using it as their main profile photo. I tried to send them a message about it and ask them what was the deal with how the car got turned upside down like that.... it don't appear to be a 'screen-shot' from a episode. Almost seems like a picture somebody took in recent times. Thought maybe somebody here could shine some light on the mystery behind this photo?

Are there any General Lee owners on this site have any really good, clean pictures of their General that they would like to post up? I did some searching on google but suprisingly most of the pics I found were not that great of quality.

i've been looking everywhere for pictures of the general lee when it was black. i know that it appeared black in "a little game of pool" and "happy birthday general lee" but those two episodes were in season 5 and 7...which arent out yet. i've searched the interenet, but all i've been able to find are thumb-nail sized pictures...does anyone know where i can find some good-quality clips (that i can blow up to see detail)? or am i gonna have to wait for season 5? --katie

I am the new owner of the #1RDV General Lee from the movie starring Jessica Simpson. What I am looking for are photos of this car being used during the production. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. It is currently painted in the pre-Cooter paint scheme (dull & faded) with the RDV (remote drive vehicle) equipment on the roof, but was originally standard General Lee #13 Post-Cooter. Please email if you have any questions or need a picture of the car in its current condition. Thanks, Scott

Are there any DVD's out there, or websites, that have behind-the-scenes stunts of the Dukes (especially w/ the General)? I've seen the 2005 movie extras, and a few various websites, but nothing that really discusses the stunts n' jumps in detail and behind the scenes. Does anyone have any really good, in depth, websites, videos, ect? Thank you for any replies! Aaron dunnsville_va@yahoo.com

HI there, can anyone please advise me re. the Dixie horn? I know the JC Whitney one,and the correct number ofr it etc etc, but it would cost me a lot ot get one shipped over here to the UK. Ebay UK has a lot of more reasonably priced horns that seem to be made by 'Fisa'; can anyone please advise as to whether these are any good, and if they play the correct 12 note tune? Many thanks! Mike

Fully autographed by the surviving cast and has the plate saying it was built just for him. Any fans out there want to mortgage everything they've got for this car?

I enjoy watching the Dukes movie simply because of the car scenes. After watching it several times, I feel that I kinda like the color of "Big Bad Orange." I realize that the Hemi-Orange and the 75' Corvette Flame-Red is more accurate, and perhaps more popular. However, I'm curious to see if anyone has applied the "Big Bad Orange" to their General (or to any other car). If so, how do you like it, opinions, pics, ect...? I'm not saying that I'm going w/ the Big Bad Orange for my Charger necessarily, but I'm just curious to see if anyone has used it. Thanks for any replies, Aaron

say call me a nut but I had a vision of a General of my own. Picture a white '67 Mustang hard top with the rebel flag on the roof and instead of 01 there'll be a 02 on the doors and the name "Traveller" instead of GeneralLee. I was wondering if anyone could take a picture of a '67 Mustang and paint it like that, I would love to see what it would look like..

The General Lee is listed as one of the top ten most famous TV cars on forbesautos.com. Somehow it didn't make #1, but the whole list would have been bogus if the General wasn't on it somewhere. http://www.forbesautos.com/advice/toptens/tv-car-stars.html

I heard that on every General Lee jump, the General had some kinda weight in the trunk. How much weight would they have to put in the trunk to prevent the General from flippin?

Hello again everyone, My 69' Charger is coming along nicely in becoming a "General." As I think what to invest in next for it, I have begun looking at the wheels/rims. I'm seeing a lot of variation in wheel width. I know to shoot for the 15' inch diameter, but what was the correct wheel width used for the Generals during the T.V. show? In other words: 15 X 8' in the rear, and, 15 X 6' in the front? Any info, pics, ect. would be greatly appreciated! Kindest Regards, Aaron p.s.....Other than Ebay, would anyone have any further websites that I could check for the General Lee wheels by chance?
