  1. In Hazzard, the more things change, the more they stay the same. This is also true at Cooter's Place in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. About a year ago, Cooter's in Gatlinburg relocated to nearby Pigeon Forge due to unforseen circumstances. The new location does not have the 'familily fun center' gocarts and indoor mini golf. However, the new store brings opportunities to build new fun experiences for Dukes fans to enjoy. In addition to easier access and expanded room for events and more cool Hazzard merchandise and collectibles, we are now buiding in the famiilar setting of the Hazzard Garage.

We've mentioned a couple of historically famous non-NASCAR drivers recently, so I thought I'd share a quote from another that I heard last night. Juan Manuel Fangio dominated the early years of F1, winning the World Drivers' Championship five times in the first decade. Here's his quote: "Driving fast on the track does not scare me. What scares me is when I drive on the highway I get passed by some idiot who thinks he is Fangio."

    Hazzard Square

At least Boss' house is still standing. The houses after it, including the haunted house from 'The Hazzardville Horror', have been replaced by newer buildings. Considering LA's liking for redevelopment, the remaining houses on Hazzard Square must be among the oldest in the area .

  7. Here is the current state of things at the end of October- Its really starting to look like the Hazzard garage we know. Big thanks for my awesome team: My wife Dawn (who it turns out is a great scenic painter), Walter (who it turns out is a great carpenter and electrician!), and Joe, Nelu, and Shannon who keep the store running while we tear it apart, and scare children with the construction noise! Its a particular challenge working around the General Lee- we have to be very careful swinging ladders, lumber, and paint around it.

  8. I was flicking through the TV channels tonight when I saw "The Dukes of Hazzard" in the listings. I've been here before, and then been disappointed to find that it's the 2005 movie, but this time it was the real thing. Dukes is being shown on a UK channel called Forces TV (part of the British Forces Broadcasting Service - Sky 181, Virgin 274, Freeview 96 and Freesat 165). They're showing double episodes at various times on Saturdays and Sundays - tonight I caught the end of 'Mary Kaye's Baby' and then 'Repo Men'. You can catch all of the first six episodes across the weekend. Here's tomorrow's

I remember when people used to give the benefit of the doubt, forgive someone's mistakes, and gave second chances. I sometimes give 5 or 6 chances, against my better judgement. I am not a fan of cancel culture. I call it The Church of the Perpetually Outraged. That's a difficult way to go through life. I just don't have the energy for it.

    Return to Fun

There seems to be a trend here to post stuff that is a little bit edgy. That's no surprise since the world seems to have gone crazy. Since I have been part of the problem I really am not worthy of acting like Uncle Jesse and getting everybody back it line with a gruff authoritarian voice so I won't...... but I will say this: While I may be tempted in the future to post stuff that displays my anger about insane current events I will not anymore. This website is one of my favorite things in the world and I don't want to ruin it by being part of the problem. From this point forward I pledge to re

The daylight scheduled Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead turned into a night race after several weather delays. Denny Hamlin dominated the race winning both stages and of course the race. Tyler Reddick though is the one that stole the show in my opinion. He fought for the lead several times once he made his way from 24th and ended up finishing 4th. Chase Elliot finished 2nd, Ryan Blaney 3rd and Aric Almirola rounded out the top 5. Tyler's RCR teammate Austin Dillon finished 7th. Jimmie Johnson did not have a good race, started 9th and quickly dropped to the 20's and ended up finishing 16th. Da

They sound dangerous and entertaining! LOL Hoss at what Fangio said. I bet it's hard for them to drive and not speed on the normal roads. I remember Jeff Gordon saying he got pulled over for speeding while he was on the phone with Dale Earnhardt Jr. He said he could tell the cop wasn't impressed that he was Jeff Gordon so he asked him if he wanted to talk to Jr. And Jr got him out of a ticket. John Reminisces

Thanks for posting that, MM. For anyone who's interested, I think John's standing about here. The curve on the road as seen in the video is now wider than the one in the 2011 Google image that I linked to (and therefore the one seen in the show). John has started answering fans' questions about Dukes on his YouTube channel, although for some reason he seems to like filming them mainly in portrait mode and just after he's done a workout. So far he's talked about how long each episode took to film, what he thought of the reunion movies (and the 2005/2007 movies), and who drank real beer at

I'm just really down that they are casting a big shadow over the Dukes by making them look racist or anyone who likes the show. I'm not racist and hate the thought of someone thinking I am just because of a show. But I do see where people are coming from by associating the flag with it...even if that's not what it was intended to mean. If all that makes sense...

The image quality of the YouTube video isn't great, but I think the truck driven by Norman in 'Murder in Peyton Place' was the higher spec Ranger XLT. Even the very clean Uncle Jesse truck which appeared in the backlot scenes of 'Luke's Love Story' (below) never looked as good. The picture above is from the first page of this thread. The truck is noticeably cleaner and less dented than the one used for filming at the Golden Oak Ranch. BTW. The California trucks weren't identical to the Georgia one. Just like Daisy's car, they changed the model when they moved production. In the

  28. Well said cousin. Being here has been an amazing experience and always feels like family. When you get together for family reunions the only thing that everybody has in common is that they are related by blood or marriage. Here we have something better than DNA in common. We have the love of jumping an old clunker car over a creek with a corrupt but lovable sheriff behind us shouting "Hot pursuit!. I love it. I love it. Khee Khee!". I can think of nothing better or more meaningful than that to bring a bunch of people from all over the world together. Khee Khee. Thanks for making that happen MM

They land the glider and hop in the General Lee and go help the person in the car. I'd say you're more likely to see an E-Type over in the UK, but they're still rare enough. By coincidence, as I write this I'm watching TV show about restoring a Corvette Stingray (a C3) in the UK. The guy it belongs to is a member of a local Corvette owners club, so there must be a few Corvettes around. Back around 1980 there was an early-70s C3 parked outside some apartments about half a mile from where I lived. It was quite an exotic sight back then, and probably the first I'd se

I heard its just the continued stress a tyre has to indure in the banks but I'm just surprised by this. A big trunk would be nice but you could always put some of those gallon jugs in the back seat. Make sure it has a good suspension system so the jugs don't get rattled and your back and neck don't hurt when you jump the creek. Hobie doesn't want you to get hurt because this kind of job doesn't have worker's compensation. Your fixin' to enter the buttermilk *wink wink* delivery industry.

Me and a whole bunch of us have " Sound"! Daisy's yellow Road Runner is back. Bo scuffs it driving through a hay pile and hitting something on the other side. I like the line right after that, when Luke says, " When Daisy sees this car, she's gonna pull out all your teeth" and Bo says..., " And gums!"....lol...I always liked that one!

In standard spec, the Jag was over a second slower to 60mph compared to a 1969 Charger R/T with a V8 Hemi and 3-speed auto transmission, but their top speeds were very similar. Obviously, the General was a race car, so should have been faster than stock. Here's how Top Gear paid tribute to the E-Type on its 50th birthday back in 2011 (with just a touch of patriotism):
