Here are some drawings I did of the General Lee

When I first met Rick, it was in the 90's, so the WWW was in its infancy. When I told him about HazzardNet's predecessor (the Hazzard County Sheriff's Department on Prodigy), he was excited there was a community of fans online still discussing and enjoying the show. He told me he'd be right back and when he returned, he handed me an enormous folder of 8x10s, several of them signed. That was very generous of him. I still have them packed away from the move, but when I find them (someday), I will scan them in and put them on the site. When I mentioned where I worked at the time, we had a connection there and he told me some amazing stories. We just had an awesome conversation. He was very personable and gracious. At the Dukesfest in '01, I got to do an impromptu square dance with him and Jimmie. Good times. I would've liked to have gotten to know him better, but my health and work situations over the years didn't permit me to get to events as much as I'd have liked.

Well done, Skipper. I also remembered the scene but not the episode. Watching the scene again, I remembered that it slightly annoyed me. When Boss reveals his string of dollar signs, every other one should be mirrored if they were cut out of a single piece of paper, but they all face the same way.

Happy Halloween guys!! unfortunately, I come from a family who don't celebrate things much outside Christmas so I'm not doing anything, but my mom bought me some candy last week (which is already almost gone) and I have a cool halloween outfit on Red Dead Redemption Online! Might brave up and watch some horror movies tonight...not sure

Wow. You guys are awesome. I feel like a chooch. I made a post 5 years ago and y’all responded and I ghosted you. So, my wife planned a surprise trip to Covington, GA with the fam. Got To visit the jump sites from the first 5 episodes, meet some other cool Dukes fans AND John Schneider happened to be in town after a convention in Atlanta. Talk about an amazing day! Then, hit Cooters Garage in Pigeon Forge, TN a couple days later. Anyway, I’m totally geeking out on all things Dukes again and looking forward to checking out the forums here! I still love your artwork recreations, Hoss!

Hey y'all. I've been around here and there, just not logged in. Sorry to abandon y'all. I saw my name and it caught my eye. LOL. Thank you for remembering me. Sounds fun! Though I haven't been on my computer as much as I was a year ago, so I may not be able to post as much as before. I'm always ready to extend my winning streak.

Hands up, I know nothing about archery, but I found a discussion about the Dukes of Hazzard bows at www.archerytalk.com. They said, "The original Warthog had a deerslyer [sic] 300 sight on it."

Well I haven't been here in a bit. The business we opened up wound up doing very well but taking up a lot of time as well but it is what it is. Wanted to answer the question that it isn't the one in north Carolina. I live in a small town called Plainville in Georgia, its between Rome and Calhoun. The garage/boars nest im talking about is just outside of Shannon ga towards Kingston Ga. The guy has a General Lee, a 69 F350 cooters tow truck, a daisy jeep and a hazzard patrol car. The garage is awesome and the boars nest is built to the RH side of the garage. Has the correct jukebox and pinball machine as seen from the show. Even has the machine that has the huge bands that Boss Hogg was using to shake the fat away lol. It's really neat how far he has put into it as in detail. He also has a toy section and there is alot of cool stuff there too.

To be honest, I'm not much of a drinker, and if I have a pint it's likely to be lager or maybe ale. I don't dislike Guinness, and it does taste different here, but I can't remember the last time I had one. My friend likes the 0.0 alcohol-free Guinness which I might try sometime since I usually have my car with me.

I think I'd have to agree. Maybe you'll like the vocals more in this one. It was on the soundtrack of the 1991 Steve Martin movie 'LA Story', hence the clips in the video. Enya - Exile

While I'm on Irish artists, I couldn't ignore Thin Lizzy. This song was written by the band's frontman Phil Lynott and guitarist Gary Moore about Lynott's newborn daughter. Phil died when I was 15, but I did get to see Limehouse Lizzy, the best known Thin Lizzy tribute act, about 25 years ago. Thin Lizzy - Sarah

We've had another week of rain here, although not too bad where I live. I don't think I've ever been close to experiencing wind chills of -30F (that's about -34.5C). At least you've got the coolest day of the year to look forward to - cool!

I don't tailgate even when the driver in front is going well under the speed limit. There's just not enough time to react if anything happens. I have also used the slowing down tactic when I've been tailgated.

I don't do many long journeys, but luckily I don't recall seeing anyone doing that on my recent trip to Galway, although I'm sure it happens regularly over here. Maybe I'm imagining it, but people here seem to drive much more hesitantly lately. I thought it could be the reduced driving during the Covid lockdowns, but that was a while ago now. Sometimes I approach a junction thinking I'll easily get out because there's a huge gap, but the car in front stops dead and waits for nothing. Then there are the drivers who drive at well under the speed limit completely oblivious to the long queue behind them. That's my two cents.

I've never seen his shows (I'm not sure if they were shown over here), but I'm familiar with him through memes! It's so odd for me listening to Thomas being narrated by an American. The fictional setting of the Island of Sodor is so British (it's meant to be located in the Irish Sea between the English mainland and the Isle of Man). BTW. Last weekend marked the 80th anniversary of The Railway Stories (AKA. Thomas and Friends) - there's an article about it here. At least the music's good to dance to.

I've just spent the evening at a bar (very unusual for me) listening to a couple of local guys playing live music on acoustic guitars. It was a good mix of traditional Irish songs and old favorites. What surprised me was the number of Americans at the bar. The first people I spoke to were from just across the Indiana border from Chicago, but there were three groups from California (Sacramento, San Francisco and Los Angeles), one from Seattle and another from Florida. I know where I live is a popular tourist destination, but I rarely get to speak to the visitors.

They're currently running the 2024 Camaro body and probably will next season as well.

I forgot to mention 'On the Rocks'. Rick played one of the inmates in this prison-set sitcom in the mid-70s. It was based on the British sitcom 'Porridge', which coincidentally I'm watching right now. I've only ever seen a couple of clips of 'On the Rocks' - maybe it'll make it online one day. Here are three threads to get you started: Ages of dukes I have a question??? What were the real ages of cast? Anyone know? Aside from the flashback episodes ('Go West, Young Dukes' and 'Happy Birthday, General Lee'), and the shown-out-of-order season 2 episodes, I think Dukes ran chronologically, although not many storylines crossed episodes or seasons. An example of this is T.C. Rogers becoming Supervisory Administrator of Hazzard County in 'People's Choice' (S2E11), but then she was never mentioned again. Of course, the 2005/2007 movies completely ignored the canon of the TV series, but that's another story!

It was the third race in the F1 triple-header today with the Spanish Grand Prix. The McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris locked out the front row of the grid ahead of Max Verstappen, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. Lance Stroll apparently had a pain in his wrist related to a cycling accident a couple of years ago, although there were also reports of him losing his temper in the pits after qualifying. Either way, he didn't start the race, so there were only 19 cars on grid (I'm not sure why his Aston Martin team couldn't use a reserve driver). Oscar had a good getaway at the start, but Max managed to jump Lando. Lewis also passed George. Lando got back ahead of Max on lap 13. The Barcelona circuit is known for tire wear, and Red Bull put Max on a 3-stop strategy when most teams were planning on a 2-stop. Max was looking certain for third place until Kimi Antonelli's Mercedes engine gave out with just over 10 laps to go bringing out the safety car. All of the front runners went to the pits to change tires, but Max only had a set of the slower hard tires available. At the restart, Max's car nearly went sideways, allowing Charles Leclerc to pass. Max then went off-track as George tried to pass, but came out ahead. His team told Max to give the place back to George. Max wasn't happy about the instruction and appeared to deliberately hit George when it looked like he was letting him through. That earned Max a 10-second penalty and three points on his licence (he's now only one point away from a one race ban!). At the end, it was McLaren first and second with Oscar ahead of Lando. Charles got his second podium in a row with George in fourth. Nico Hulkenberg in his Kick Sauber surprised a lot of people by passing Lewis near the end to finish fifth. Max actually crossed the line in fifth, but his penalty pushed him back to 10th. In ninth, former World Champion Fernando Alonso was cheered by his home crowd as he scored his first points of the season. You can see the highlights here. Oscar is now 10 points ahead of Lando in the drivers' championship. In the constructors championship, McLaren have over double the points of their nearest rivals, Ferrari, who in-turn moved ahead of Mercedes today. It's two weeks until the next race in Canada.

They should. A group of misfits like us would really sell tickets.

Apologies for the lateness of my F1 review - I've had a busy week! Here's what happened at last weekend's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, Italy. The McLarens looked to have the pace all through the three free practice sessions, but could only manage first and fourth on the grid (Oscar Piastri ahead of Lando Norris). They were split by the Red Bull of Max Verstappen and the Mercedes of George Russell. Neither Ferrari made it into the top 10, which disappointed their fans so close to their factory. The other Mercedes driver, 18-year-old rookie Kimi Antonelli, grew up near the track and had invited many friends and family to the race, but could only qualify 13th. Oscar made a good start, but Max got around him almost immediately. Lando had to wait until lap 11 to pass George and set off after his team mate. Oscar pitted early, and then Lando pitted just before Esteban Ocon's car pulled off to retire from the race, bringing out a virtual safety car. That gave Max and many others an easy pit stop and shook up the order. Lewis Hamilton, who'd been stuck behind Kimi since the start, finally managed to pass him on lap 34, and continued to make progress through the field. Sadly for his local fans, Kimi had to retire on lap 46. That brought out a full safety car which allowed for more easy pit stops for some. Max held the lead at the restart and went on to win the race. Behind him, Lando and Lewis each overtook their team mates on track. Charles Leclerc briefly passed Alex Albon, but his team told him to give the place back to avoid a penalty as he pushed Alex off the road to make the move. At the flag, the top 10 were: 1 Max Verstappen 2 Lando Norris 3 Oscar Piastri 4 Lewis Hamilton 5 Alexander Albon 6 Charles Leclerc 7 George Russell 8 Carlos Sainz Jnr 9 Isack Hadjar 10 Yuki Tsunoda Lewis said it was the first time he felt at home in the Ferrari after joining the team at the start of the season. OK...my gold 1983 Tran Am, T top with a black eagle on the hood, can go close to 180 mph, because I souped it up and I use special MoonS.....er....FLUID! yea....that's it!.....fluid! to make my car run so fast. My tank is full ( in more ways than one!) and I know the track around the county better than anybody! My mech...mech.....mech......my RePAIR man has taken special time this week to get this machine into top shape! And I'm getting ready for it as soon as everyone else prep.....prep...prep.....gets ready. The only thing I've got left to do, is take a little sip ( you never waste a sip!) .....ooooo that's smoooth! * I'll be back later with an adult beverage or 2 or ....5....and see what has been going on........Adult beverage.....a man's got to have his vitamin A....lol !!
