Hey y'all. I've been around here and there, just not logged in. Sorry to abandon y'all. I saw my name and it caught my eye. LOL. Thank you for remembering me. Sounds fun! Though I haven't been on my computer as much as I was a year ago, so I may not be able to post as much as before. I'm always ready to extend my winning streak.

Because I'm still close to the UK, I'm usually identified as English, and that's fine with me (although I didn't celebrate St George's Day on Thursday!). My nationality is British, and that's probably how I'd be known further from home where people aren't so familiar with the differences between the Home Nations.

Garrett is definitely a heavy hitter here on the HN....been here longer than me.

NASCAR is at my favorite track today! It's Bristol, baby! (Darrell Waltrip use to say that.) Anyway, it's a track I've been at. Not for NASCAR, but when the Dukes had their Dukefest there. Those were good times. Just realized how much this car looks like Dale Earnhardts wrangler car.

I've just checked out their website - luraycaverns.com - and they're very impressive. One thing that confused me - if they were discovered in 1878, why does the tour guide wear an 18th century costume (I'm quoting the video)? That would date from at least 79 years before the caves were discovered!

We went down to our daughter's in Winchester Virginia Thursday (home of Patsy Cline) but didn't really have any plans to do anythjng in particular. We go there at least twice a year and have pretty much done everything in the area but had never been to Luray Caverns. (It is unbelievable!) When we were leaving I remembered that Cooter's was somewhere near there so my daughter looked it up and we were only 7 miles away! We didn't stay long because I was the only person of 6 who was interested but it was incredible. I almost want to call it a spiritual experience but that bothers me a little to use that word since I believe in God but that place is definitely Hazzard Heaven on Earth. I am going to keep an eye on the schedule and go down again next time they have a big event. I hate to travel but who knows what will happen to the place after Ben passes on to Hazzard Heaven so I definitely want to go back for something big. BTW Ben wasn't there. He lives 45 minutes away though. I tried to get some people to join HazzardNet but see they haven't yet. I am still in awe over Cooter's. You would think that you couldn't top something like Luray's Cavern. It is one of the most amazing natural wonders on Earth. But Crazy Cooter pulled it off just a few minutes later.

They're virtually unknown over here, and so far I've only seen them at this show. The guy goes by the name 'Cranky Yankee'. I've just checked his Facebook page, and apparently he'll be closer to where I live a couple of times over the summer.

That is interesting Hoss. We didn't see any guides or anybody dressed like that. It looked like everybody was taking the self guided tour and just following the trail. I have a fear of caves but only got real nervous when we were half way through and I found out there is only one way in and one way out. They also had a toy museum there that wasn't very impressive but the car museum was amazing. They were part of the admission price.

I'm about to watch Jeopardy and the news and then......you guessed it! I'm about to speak with the spirits in a little bit....... 2 Milwaukee's Best Ice that I have left! I'll probably go out and get more tomorrow! I hope Garrett's ok and I sure hope our supreme superior leader is doing well! I miss both of them! In the words of Roscoooo P. Cooootrane! For a small island, they've made a lot of great music. I've been here over 20 years, and I've discovered a load of songs I'd never heard before over the last few weeks. The radio station spent the whole day playing the top 50 yesterday. No current chart music and nothing from outside of Ireland. They finished up with a show from a pub featuring some of the acts from the top 100 playing live. So many of the songs have an emotional connection to people, with listeners both loving them and fighting back tears. I'm also impressed that the top 100 included songs from last year back to at least 1970. Sadly, this song didn't make the list. While you guys are eating pancakes and waffles in the morning, we have this deli/gas station delight. It's basically a full Irish breakfast in a bread roll. It's been a while since I've had one, and it's making me hungry listening to it. Two eggs, two sausage, two rasher, two bacon, two puddings one black, one white All stacked like a tower on top of each other and rolled up good and tight If you're having some tea, the milks over there, and you'll find sugar in the bowl Says she, "Do you want some sauce on that?" Yes, it does. I nearly pointed it out in my original post. Here's how the car looked in the movie. Although I didn't get to see a Hazzard patrol car, there were a couple of police cars this year. This one had a sign on the rear fender saying "To Protect and Cruise" ... ... while this one said "To Punish and Enslave" .

About three years ago, the All American Car, Truck & Bike Show moved from September to April, and I missed it! Then it seemed to clash with other events, so this is the first time I've been back since 2010. I saw pictures of one of the shows I missed in a magazine, and there was a Hazzard patrol car there. Sadly, it wasn't there this year. The General Lee was also absent, but one of the late arrivals was this yellow Road Runner just like Daisy drove in the early episodes. NB. I don't know any of the people in the pictures - it was virtually impossible getting shots without someone in the way! There was also a very clean 1973 Ford F-100 that would have suited Uncle Jesse if it had been white instead of blue, and a white Cadillac convertible that turned out to be a 1965 model (the interior was similar to Boss' even though it was red). Luckily, there were plenty of other cars I hadn't seen before, including this pair of Starsky and Hutch Gran Torinos complete with lights and sirens. One of my other favorites was this Vanishing Point Challenger. As well as the burnouts, they also used a pair of big rigs (it was a Mack and Ford for anyone who's interested) to rip a couple of compact cars apart. I nearly forgot - after seeing people eat them in movies and TV shows for years, I had my first corn dog today. We might have imported McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks etc., but it's the first time I've seen corn dogs for sale over here (the guy selling them was from Minnesota, and he wasn't aware of any other sellers). Now I've got to get me a chili dog and some grits .
