Signs of Hazzard
Hobie Hartkins and 3 others reacted to Bryce for a topic
Wow. You guys are awesome. I feel like a chooch. I made a post 5 years ago and y’all responded and I ghosted you. So, my wife planned a surprise trip to Covington, GA with the fam. Got To visit the jump sites from the first 5 episodes, meet some other cool Dukes fans AND John Schneider happened to be in town after a convention in Atlanta. Talk about an amazing day! Then, hit Cooters Garage in Pigeon Forge, TN a couple days later. Anyway, I’m totally geeking out on all things Dukes again and looking forward to checking out the forums here! I still love your artwork recreations, Hoss!4 points -
I've just spent the evening at a bar (very unusual for me) listening to a couple of local guys playing live music on acoustic guitars. It was a good mix of traditional Irish songs and old favorites. What surprised me was the number of Americans at the bar. The first people I spoke to were from just across the Indiana border from Chicago, but there were three groups from California (Sacramento, San Francisco and Los Angeles), one from Seattle and another from Florida. I know where I live is a popular tourist destination, but I rarely get to speak to the visitors.3 points

Is This It For Chevy and NASCAR?

I saw the phrase "Tír na nÓg" (it means "Land of Youth") painted on several buildings, and the bar was advertising "Ceol Anocht" ("Music Tonight"), but I don't think it was the Celtic Women. It was probably traditional Irish music, but we had food waiting at the house, so we didn't stay to find out. Just to keep you happy, Roger:3 points

Charlie Daniels
Hobie Hartkins and 2 others reacted to HossC for a topic
I was just watching a season 3 episode of The Fall Guy called 'Pirates of Nashville'. The main storyline was about bootlegged Country records, so Colt and gang had to fly to Nashville and visit The Grand Ole Opry. The first singer they met was Dottie West - one of Boss' Celebrity Speed Trap victims. A couple of others like Mickey Gilley were mentioned, but not seen. Then Charlie Daniels and his band showed up to perform 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia'. The episode also featured Miriam Byrd-Nethery who appeared in two episodes of Dukes. The episode finished with Colt losing a bet and having to sing the show's theme song which was portrayed as having been written by Howie. I'm no expert on Tennessee geography, but the street signs in the urban car chase looked suspiciously like the ones in LA, and the out-of-town chase went down roads lined with white fencing that were very like the ones often seen in Dukes (e.g. W Potrero Road in Westlake Village).3 points -
Went to the local GM plant's car show today. Over 300 cars, possibly 400 showed up. One that stuck out for me was a restored Hudson pickup truck. Never seen one before. Since it was invitation only it was pretty much hot rods and muscle cars. They might go back to open registration again next year. Few years ago they had some trouble with a few people and police showed up so that's when they made it invitation only, you have to work there or worked there or know someone that works there that will write you in.2 points

I just thought of something last week.....ever notice the theme song? Do you ever start the DVD and then go do something while it's playing ( I take my medicine before bed) and I NEVER get tired of hearing it, even when it plays over and over. It's like the episodes themselves.....there's no point of exhaustion! You can listen and watch over and over and over! What other show, band, etc. can you name like that???!!!2 points -

It's past midnight at my house right now and since Enos lives in the same time zone in Valdosta Georgia that means he is officially 90. Happy birthday buddy. You are a true Southern gentleman and were a natural to play Enos Strate. This is cool.....our puppy Lulu turns one year old today. When we got her at the beginning of the year I was thrilled to learn she shared a birthday with Sonny Shroyer!2 points -

I hope every one is doing well! 9/2 is coming fast and I'm counting down! Doctor gave me specific instructions, no beer or cold drinks 3 days before surgery! So Friday ( DOHD) is my last party day until after surgery and probably until somewhere around November!2 points -
General Questions about The Dukes of Hazzard Series
Hobie Hartkins and one other reacted to HossC for a topic
They don't even use the same car throughout 'Twin Trouble' - at least two different cars are used if you compare the front corner lights. It's probably safe to say that the car that was rolled wasn't used again. I think all of the cars in question are 1967 Chevy 4-door sedans. I'm surprised that you didn't spot another blue 1967 Chevy 4-door sedan being driven by Mary Lou Tompkins in 'A Baby for the Dukes' earlier in season 6. That one survived, so it could've been used in later episodes. They were most likely Impalas, but some could've been Bel Airs and Biscaynes. A couple appear to have the Sport Sedan body. Like with your previous questions about cars being the same across episodes, I think all we can say is they were similar. If they didn't get wrecked, they may have been reused.2 points -
After Boss' brakes go out, Vance apparently stops his car by simply pressing the clutch. Vance previous told Boss "...what you gotta do is try to slowly downshift into first gear. And then let the gears slow you down.". All we see is him depressing the clutch but never raising it again as you would to shift gears with a stick transmission. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 1970 Cadillac DeVille only came with an automatic transmission, so it wouldn't have a clutch pedal anyway.2 points

Every time I rematch Dukes (for the thousandth time) I notice new things I’ve never noticed before like in Ding Dong the Boss is Dead, Boss’s Cadillac is at Cooters with the note on it. When the scaffolding almost falls on him you can see the Cadillac in front of the steps. Then when Boss goes to get in his car he walks over to Cooters and gets the car and reads the note. I’m sure someone else has noticed this but I like noticing new things when you aren’t focusing on it you don’t really notice.2 points

General Questions about The Dukes of Hazzard Series
Hobie Hartkins and one other reacted to HossC for a topic
I only watched the scene around the impound yard, but most of those stores are on French Street. You can see towards Boss' bank when the boys escape jail, but the bank is blocked by a truck. You can also see a redressed Rhuebottoms and paint store in the background when Sheriff Little crashes through the fence. The building with the fence is redressed as different businesses in several episodes.2 points -

General Questions about The Dukes of Hazzard Series
Skipper Duke reacted to HossC for a topic
Midwest Street (Hazzard Square) played Springville in 'Deputy Dukes'. Can you give examples of episodes where the town in Chickasaw appeared and I should be able to tell you where they were filmed. I think they generally used French Street for Chickasaw, which is the one behind the the courthouse between Midwest Street and New York Street.1 point -

I've just watched that scene about a dozen times and I'm not convinced by this one. Luke and Bo look over their shoulders when they first hear the siren. Luke then looks straight ahead and gradually turns toward Bo as he's talking. When he says "diamonds", he very briefly looks straight ahead before turning to look over his shoulder again. Bo has a couple of quick sideways looks, but I don't think any of Luke's glances are toward an imaginary door mirror.1 point

Annie's Fanart
Skipper Duke reacted to bo-go-vroom for a topic
Hello! I figured since I might be drawing fanart more often that it would be a better idea to have one thread/topic than to post it all on it's own every time, and I have a really good piece to start it with. It's a drawing I did of Bo with a horse. The song "My Rifle, My Pony and Me" kept coming up on Spotify and I got really inspired for some reason, so I drew the song. (except the rifle, I didn't want to render that much metal AND wood) My friend is a horse girl and she said that Bo would have a Chestnut Quarter Horse Mare named Miss Joanne. It's my biggest project ever, with the multiple subjects and more body than just the head. I had a lot of fun with it, adding a bunch of little details that I'm sure most of them won't be found partially due to the bad quality I had to upload it in so it could fit, but I also think the bigger ones won't be understood. I'm not saying you guys are dumb, I'm saying that I probably didn't make it understandable as a reference and made it look more like just a design choice or a coincidence. Also, apologies for not posting/commenting anything, I haven't known what to say. The only dukes thing I've done/seen/thought of besides this drawing, is I made a wallpaper and lockscreen for a friend. I swear I haven't forgotten about this forum, and I'm still a fan!1 point -

Is This It For Chevy and NASCAR?
Hobie Hartkins reacted to Garrett Duke for a topic
I saw this article earlier today and rolled my eyes and scrolled passed it...I have a hard time seeing or thinking of NASCAR without Chevy in it. There has always been Chevys in there. Why would Chevy pull out of NASCAR for? I can see them pulling the Camero out for some reason or another (as them not not selling out the parts as much as listed in the article) but I am sure they'd put in another type of Chevy in it's place. It hasn't always been the Camero. It use to be Monte Carlo and Impala before it came to the Camero. But if the slim chance that Chevy did pull out of NASCAR completely...well I'd be just as loss as my Hendrick boys. I mean what would they drive without a Chevy? I can't see Hendrick in any other manufacturer outside of Chevy. LOL.1 point
