It was just a 3 day thing. Thanks for asking. You too Hobie. Sorry but pictures are too complicated for me. Lulu is a 6 month old black shih-tzu with a little bit of brown....only weighs 7 lbs.

It amazes me how much variation there is between states. There's a car mechanic I watch on YouTube who's based in Kansas, and his videos are often interrupted by loud cars passing. He just looks at the camera and says something like "Welcome to no-muffler Newton".

I've also seen references to registering cars in Montana to save money as there's no sales tax. One website I read added "Besides saving money in taxes, some people also choose to register their vehicles in Montana because it’s convenient. In this state, there are no vehicle inspections and emissions tests nor are there residency requirements to register a vehicle there."

I'm very familiar with that area and was watching the news to see how they did over there. Went fishing many times at Castaic Lake with my brother and, of course, been to Magic Mountain many times.

Awe sweet. My Rosie (I named her after Rose on the Golden Girls) is shih tzu and corgi mix but is white and black. My mom says I should have called her checkers. HA.  I'd love to see Lulu but I understand. Give her a treat for me.  (My last dog was Rosco. I miss him...)

Was a beautiful morning with the snow we got late yesterday and a clear sky this morning so we went to the park and took a bunch of pics.

Fellow Hazzard-ites if you live around the Great Lakes batten down the hatches as there are 50+mph winds coming with the storm front this weekend. Barometric pressure will take big swings too so you might get a headache.

We had Storm Éowyn back in January with winds of over 80mph in parts of Ireland (Scotland recorded a gust of 135mph) which left nearly 15% of the country without power. Some people in rural communities were without power for over two weeks.

is that word for the storm, pronounced,  Storm  UWEN? There's a character.....can't remember if it's from " professional Rasslin" or where,  but  his name was Ewen McGuin! ....not sure about the spelling..... but pronounced Uin maguin.

It's pronounced Ay-oh-win.

Each storm season, Met Éireann (Ireland) collaborates with the UK Met Office and the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) to come up with a list of storm names. Éowyn was one of the submissions from the UK Met Office. Although it looks like it might be Gaelic, it was probably taken from JRR Tolkien’s 'The Lord of the Rings' where Éowyn is a noblewoman of the kingdom of Rohan.

I couldn't find Ewen McGuin, but Ewen/Ewan is a Scottish name pronounced yoo-uhn. You may know Scottish actor Ewan McGregor. The Welsh equivalent is Owen. This seems to be the most popular in the US (e.g. actor Owen Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Owen Hale etc.). In Ireland it's Eoin or Eoghan (both pronounced like Owen). There all connected to the names Ian and John, and are meant to originally derive from Eugene.

We are going through them right now. Haven't lost electricity yet. Tomorrow morning everything east of the Mississippi River is going to be one big storm.

At our previous house, we'd lose electricity just about every time there was a wind storm. It wasn't exactly rural, but it was tucked into a little area down a little road with huge trees all around. We lost power for about 3 days once in winter. That's when I learned about "glamping" (glamorous camping). We made a little campsite around our fireplace since that was the only heat we had. At the new house, I think we only lost power once, for less than an hour, and it was because they were working on infrastructure for a new development.
