see?? Everybody always jumping the gun! So many people try to stir some S%$t!!  I'm sure ol' Bubba ( the real name he was born with, I'm sure!) was eating up the sympathy!

Nope. His real name is Darrell Wallace Jr.. His nickname is Bubba. I assume to distinguish between him and his Dad.

I can't believe they let him use Petty's number! I thought they retired that! I've noticed his dad has no contact info.!...strange....

Richard Petty is still a minority owner of Richard Petty Motorsports who owns the car Bubba Wallace drives, that's why the #43 is on it.

NASCAR has only one number which was in modified. They retired #61 after Tichie Evens death in 1985. So it doesn't look like NASCAR  retires numbers as they do in other sports. Though I do believe they should retire the #24 and #48 after Johnson retires. Because 24 will always be Jeff Gordon  (sorry William Byron...he can drive #25!) #48 will always be Jimmie Johnson.  Just saying... ;)

Whose Dad has no contact info? Bubba's?

Who else owns Petty Motorsports?

Andrew Murstein, president of Medallion financial is the majority owner of Richard Petty Motorsports. You can read more about the organization here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Petty_Motorsports.

Last time a Petty had majority ownership was with Petty Enterprises and 2008 was it's last year in Nascar before they merged with Gillet Evernham Motorsports in 2009. Petty Enterprises is still around but it now modifies street cars. They put out some nice muscle cars as of late .

Thank you. I guess you do learn something new every day!  :D I always thought it was all Rchatd Petty.

Once again mother nature delayed Cup races this time the double header at Pocono. Kevin Harvick won Saturday's rain delayed race, his first Pocono win. Denny Hamlin finished 2nd, Aric Almirola 3rd, Christopher Bell 4th and Kyle Busch 5th. Michael McDowell finished 8th with a strong run from starting 26th. Chris Buescher finished 10th from starting 24th.

Sunday's race was also rain delayed and Denny Hamlin won with Kevin Harvick finishing 2nd. Eric Jones 3rd, Chase Elliot 4th and Aric Almirola 5th. Matt Dibenedetto finished 6th which is his 4th top 10 of the season.

This weekend both Xfinity and cup races at Indianapolis are on NBC. Xfinity starts at 3pm Saturday afternoon. Cup starts at 4pm Sunday afternoon.

Interesting...https://www.jayski.com/2020/06/29/penske-has-yet-to-offer-brad-keselowski-a-contract-for-2021/

Could that mean Brad Keselowski would finally drive for Hendrick Motorsports like originally planned, taking over the #48 next season. Roger probably wants to pay him less $$$, sure is interesting that they haven't even thrown an offer at him yet though since he already won 2 races this season.

I don't know...but this Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Hendrick Motorsports fan really hopes not. I'm not too big of a Keselowski fan...tho do have more patience for him the last couple of years.

Though I do find it ironic that if it does,  then the guy who he wrecked and got into a fight with a few years ago, would own a majority of his car.

Just my two cents on the topic...

He originally was supposed to end up at Hendrick Motorsports but at the time, 2010, they didn't have an open seat due to Mark Martin signing a contract extension thru 2011 and not enough sponsorship to run the 25 for a full time season so Penske made him an offer and he took it.

Yeah I know he was supposed to or wanted to. He drove for Dale Jr in Nationwide Series...

There might still be hope for our fantasy baseball league Garrett. They're still scheduled for late this month even though they cancelled the minor leagues.

I am so excited for baseball season to start! This has been killing me! I was just looking at one of my fantasy teams...I'm ready to best you! :D

Hey, this is a fun game. How many ways is it possible to ruin a good NASCAR thread.....on second thought....I'd better be careful or Garrett will start messing with my episode review thread.

On my way right now...oooo the fun I will have. :D ;)

http://Jimmie Johnson reports positive COVID-19 test - NASCAR MOBILE https://www.nascar.com/wp-content/themes/ndms-2016/native/article.php?post_id=272232

Jimmie Johnson has tested positive for Covid after his wife got it. He isn't showing symptoms,  but will be sitting out his first race since his career started 20 years ago. Justin Allgaier will be in the 48 car on Sunday. Tho Johnson won't be getting any points for it.

Ugh. This 48 fan is just heart broken. Am glad he isn't showing any symptoms and is following the guidelines,  but still...

I'm just done.

Hopefully Elliott will win. That's all I will say...

I'd say to any fans... watch the races this weekend as they might be the last for a few weeks. I would not be surprised if Nascar does another postponement of the season.
