She tried trademarking the #8 to earn money off of Dale jr's merchandise but NASCAR told her she doesn't own, and will never own, the number. No team owns the numbers NASCAR does and leases them out. Then Dale Sr died in a racing accident before he could do that. Teresa is Dale Sr's wife and Dale Jr's step mom who refused to give Dale Jr the money and treated him poorly. She refused for him to race with the number 8 when he left the company and raced for Hendrick so he raced with the number 88. She has ruined DEI...I am sure Dale Sr is rolling in his grave how she handled his company and his son... Sorry for the repeat answer. I didn't see it was answered.
