  1. On an aside for anyone following this thread who might give a rip about the movie I mentioned a few posts back. I recently bought the movie and found out Jerry Rushing was in it. Holy Dukes tie-in! "Follow That Car" aka "The Georgia Peaches" ain't Masterpiece Theater, but if you like Trans-Am's, senseless car chases, shallow plots, brawling, goofy cops, explosions, and complete overkill in an ending, you'll enjoy this movie. Good luck finding it though, I might have bought the last copy on Earth. Which could be a problem 'cause I gotta get MaryAnne a copy of this thang.
  2. You are correct. Though it's a 2010 Charger and not the vintage we'd really like to see. I had to go watch the whole ep on cwtv.com just to see the car, once you posted that. Naturally I'm disappointed that the Impala is hiding under a tarp. I hope the whole season isn't going to be like that. I'm sure it's easier to use a new car so that they can have an entire fleet of them around. Doesn't have the same personality though. I'm sure at some point we'll see an Impala vs. Charger chase. Retro vs. new. Vintage vs. high tech. So long as they don't have the Impala go careening off a cliff ala Dukes of Hazzard, I'll be fine with it. Maybe they were just trying to get my attention? Bastages. More Impala!!
  3. Convince, hell. The '98 is paid for, what's to debate? The more the merrier.
  4. I'm gonna halfta check out Hobby Lobby. I haven't bought any Dukes stuff in a long time, so there's pent-up demand here. And when I catch up on stuff around here, I'll have links to the Dukes books out there ( you might be surprised how many there are ) and to toys that can be bought online. Mufn is the actual tech person who can make the 2010 Dukes o' Hazzard Christmas Loot Book all nice and organized. Meantime though, I'll keep gathering up info. I think it's gonna be a great Christmas for Dukes fans this year.
  5. YES! Like that one. Sweet. Where's my checkbook....
  6. Roger, you are correct. Hoss, you are the authority on car details. I never got that the screaming chicken faced the other way on the turbos. Now I can impress my Pontiac friends with my newfound incredible knowledge. It's a damn shame they quit making cars like this, ya know? With the old school look to the new Camaro and Mustang, I would have loved to see the renewal of the Trans Am.
  7. Awright, lessee... it's Mr. Jones, I presume. Looks like he applied here for a moderator position back in 2001. Wonder who got his job....
  8. I just looked at the you tube clip, and this car's kinda similar! I apologize for the vid quality but it gets a little better as the vid warms up. This was a Dukes-alike pilot, starring Dirk Benedict and Tanya Tucker. Originally titled "The Georgia Peaches" it was later renamed "Follow That Car." Warning, contains a "hot damn" and blatant Dukes like stunts.
  9. What ratings? What are you talkin' about? How'd this come up again? Where were we? Did I miss something? What's today... holy **** it's September! Send me a brief and I'll look into it, eh?
  10. Beautiful work. S' funny you happen to post that. I found an obscure TV pilot that involved a car kinda like this ( not sure it was the exact same color) and it was basically a Dukes of Hazzard ripoff. Thankfully, the series never got the green light, but it's interesting that this car has been around. Roger, if you're paying any attention, do you know what TV movie I'm talkin' about, circa 1980? Ah, I should put this on the trivia board or something...
  11. What's on your Christmas list for Dukes of Hazzard stuff this year? I'm thinkin' optimistic, with the show back on CMT, that we're gonna see new stuff from Johnny LIghtning / ERTL, and some more model kits. I mean, you can't have too many General Lee toys, can you? Of course not. Since ya nevah know when Santa is listening, I'll list the thing I'm after. A couple years ago there was a new Dukes slot racing set and I missed out on it. I gotta find one of those. I also never got the Dukes video games - can you even believe it? I don't have a PS2 or whatever, but it's killin 'me that I don't have those games. And if we know what people are looking for, we can help scout around and see what's out there, tell you where to find it, and how much. One of the retail stores I've seen come through every time with some kinda Dukes toys for the holidays, is TSC. ( Tractor Supply Company.) For those of you living near one of those, or a Farm & Fleet store, it's worth checking the shelves before the end of October. The toy departments usually set up by mid-month. Now then, if you've been good this year, leave your Dukes list for Santa. If you've been naughty, leave your list for Nasty the Reindeer.
  12. Yer welcome. Now that the Dukes are back on CMT, I'm sure we'll hear more references out there. And don't forget about the tidbit in that new People magazine, as mentioned on the homepage. I don't think I've ever paid that much for a magazine in my life, but I try to support anything that puts in a good word for The Dukes of Hazzard.
  13. I couldn't tell ya why the other moderators hide. Probably outta pure shame, since I'm out in the public.

  14. Now I can't stop myself. Rosco: "Hey Enos! You know what one casket said to the other? "Is that you coffin' ?" KHEE khee khee! Anyway! Last word was coughing.
  15. coffin ( does anybody remember Rosco's casket joke?)
  16. Uh....hmm... I shouldn't know this one, but I'll take a shot at it. Was it "The Complete Guide to Disco Dancing" by Karen Lustgarten?
  17. Spook-talkin' medium (awright, that's only funny if you remember Enos saying it in Ghost of General Lee. Even then, maybe it ain't. NEXT!! )
  18. Every so often I'll hear a Dukes of Hazzard reference made by a DJ on a country radio station. Once there was even a DJ going by the name of "Duko Hazzard" at a local rock station. Today, I heard the unexpected. A Dukes reference by a DJ on SIRIUS XM satellite radio. I was listening to the 70's on 7 channel. (yeah, surprise, right?) All of a sudden between songs, the DJ goes: "And tonight, on the Dukes of Hazzard, for the 10 millionth time, Boss Hogg tries to frame the Duke boys for illegal sheep sheering.." (baaas and yeehaa's interrupt) "...but the plan is foiled when Daisy pulls the wool over Rosco's eyes." (Dixie horn blares.) "Now back the music!" Whatever the satellite radio cost this month, it was worth it for the laugh.
  19. Catching up to all this - I think there's good reason some of us haven't anagramed our names before. Yow. I was trying to anagram an entire message using MaryAnne's name, but it was turning into an unspeakable disaster. I think I'd better stay out of the puzzle business.
  20. That does seem to be the case. Good thing for me, given the frequent disappearing acts I pull off. When did I last sign on, June? Or was it May. What's today...August? Whups.
  21. That's freakin' awesome. Hoss, you deserve a medal for exceptional medal-makin'! That made my day.
