Skipper Duke got a reaction from Hobie Hartkins in Moonrunners(1975)
(At the Hagg Farm. Jake Rainey is trying to buy out Uncle Jesse Hagg's moonshine supply to sell to his New York syndicate.)
Jake Rainey:"Jesse. This is my final offer." Uncle Jesse Hagg:"How many final offers are you gonna make?" Jake Rainey:"Now I ain't foolin' around. This is business on the barrel head. I wanna buy yer entire stock at $14 per gallon. In advance, cash right now." Bobby Lee Hagg:"$14 per gallon. Hell Jesse, that's double." Jake Rainey:"I was talkin' to Jesse." Uncle Jesse Hagg:"You wouldn't pay double fer water if you was dyin' a thirst. Now what's goin' on?" Jake Rainey:"Well, this syndicate trash, now they, damn syndicate wants a full shipment by Saturday. An' I ain't got but about half of it. Jesse, if you'd sell me yer total supply, that would more than do it. What do you say?" Uncle Jesse Hagg:"I'm sorry Jake. I'd like to help you be a big shot an' all. But I just can't do it. My feelings ain't changed. I don't want my stuff mixed at any price." Jake Rainey:"I ain't gonna mix it!" Uncle Jesse Hagg:"You know damn well you will!" Jake Rainey:"Jesse. God oh mighty, I'm offerin' you double!" Uncle Jesse Hagg:"I'm sorry. It's not the money, no." Jake Rainey:"No. It's yer pride. Yer stupid! Damn. Damn. Ok. I come over here, beg, plead, offer double, lower myself. Jesse, you ain't gonna move one drop!" Grady Hagg:"Here we go again." Uncle Jesse Hagg:"Fer the last month I've not heard anything out of you except threats. Now you git outta here, before I sick my dogs on you! They like hog meat Jake! Jake, I'm deliverin' a load to Florence! Neither you, yer drivers, yer syndicate, or yer truck stop whores is gonna stop us! Now git outta here."

Hi y'all. I bought this kit for $19.97 at the PatCatans Craft Store in 2017. I assembled with General Lee plans for it. I need the roof text, flag, and 01 stickers. Where can I get them? Thanks for any help y'all can give me.

Don't worry, fellas. I'll have some Daisy stuff for sale too.

I think you're right. I was just pointing out that not every General was painted that color, and as you say, stunt cars were often painted with whatever orange was available.

Hey....you got to cut me some slack. I've been unable to get on here! This was my 3RD try this time right now! I didn't know because I was late for the show!

Thanks for the shout out, Mark. Brian's an excellent writer, that's why I hired him. Plus, the fact that he works for peanuts. LOL.

It's been all but confirmed the beauty cars(cars seen close up) were painted 1975 Corvette Flame Red, GM code 70. I remember reading an article that stated when they scanned the trunk lid it matched Corvette Flame Red. Even a scan of old paint won't give accurate results. Reds, yellows and oranges tend to change more than other colors over time. They did use other orange colors on the stunt cars mostly to save money and would often mix leftovers to make enough to paint a car.
Some people think Hemi Orange was used but it wasn't. Hemi Orange is a 1969 Dodge Charger color but it's a very dark red-orange and almost always photographs red. Hemi Orange does have a light metallic in it too.
1975 Corvette Flame Red is the main color of the General Lee.

Skipper Duke reacted to MaryAnne in Allright, I guess I'll be the first to post here.
Certainly not! As a certified Coltrane I most definetly give a darn about the patrol cars....
....but I don't have one myself. LOL. However, I have seen, online, pics of restored Fury's gaining new life as replica HCSD cruisers.
Some have even been for sale on eBay. I think the patrol cars are starting to gain a little bit of ground in the resto area, followed by Daisy's Jeep.
Which, when ya think about it, makes sense. General Lee might get kinda lonely if that big ol' white Plymouth wasn't trying to nip it's tail. Khee!

You forgot to mention that the General was green in 'Southern Comfurts'.
Regarding the color, apparently they used Big Bad Orange in the movies. For the series, it's widely published that the General was Corvette Flame Red, but I found a 2020 article which includes a video of Travis Bell on Ed Bolian's VINwiki YouTube channel. He claims to have color-scanned the trunk of the original General and found the color to be TNT Express. That's a color I'm familiar with because it was used by the TNT Express shipping company (similar to FedEx or UPS), and I'd often see their trucks on the motorway. It looks like TNT Express was bought out by FedEx nearly a year ago. Here's the video:

Whenever my motorcycle gets here I'll probably be joining FB again. When I had my Ninja there was a great forum for it but my new bike must not popular enough to have any active forum but it is active on FB. I'll look you up Skipper. It might be awhile though....still don't know when it will get here. I'll be using the name Jesse Duke....not Roger Duke like I did.

Just blocked someone. On Facebook. Argument with me GENERAL LEE was gray in the TV pilot. No it was not. Never gray. Always orange. Corvette Flame Red Code Dupont 70 to be more precise. It was black in the story flashback Happy Birthday General Lee before getting the now famous paint that we all know. In the original idea, it was to be Confederate Gray and called Traveler after General Lee's horse. With 99 on the doors and flag on the hood. All that changed in the final product to the name of the man himself and 01 doors and flag moved to roof with the GENERAL LEE text on sides of the flag. The original plan(treatment)must be what he's thinking about. Idk where else other than that he gets the gray crap from. He has learned do not argue Dukes with me you will lose. LOL.

Nice work Hoss! Yeah, getting a shot of that Choctaw car I'm sure wasn't easy.
"Coltrane! Your driving is substandard!"
Rosco: "I'm not the one that turned over...."

Hey Brian, make sure the car insurance is up to date on it first?
-
Skipper Duke reacted to Brian Coltrane in Rosco as a Vallet
Park it? Sure, in an open field if there was nothing else around for miles.
Ya know, I get the feeling MaryAnne isn't paying any attention to this thread. That or I haven't hit the right buttons yet.

Hey Brian, would you let either one of them park your car?

Of all the photos, I think the one that best represents MaryAnne's valet skills is the fifty-car freeway pileup. When she messes up, she don't mess up small, ya know what I mean?
It'd be like having a big cardboard box of toy matchbox cars, and then dumping them all out on the floor at once. It'd look just like that. You'd stare and marvel at how one car can be three miles away from the epicenter and still be wrecked all by itself. She has that kind of talent.
And I admire that.

Oh and Roger, thank you for the complament. The idea was indeed original.
Again, I am still surprised a certain couple of cousins hasn't taken this and rolled with it yet. Hmm, maybe they aren't paying attention or are a bit busy. What ever the problem, I know they aren't bored, otherwise we'd be havin' us a show right about now.
I know I don't want the Hazzard Law parking my Character's cars! Although... Rosco as a Valet would give the Garage a lot of extra business.

hmm a warning to Rosco maybe? Actually, I wonder if some of the fender benders on the show could have been avoided if Boss would just buy new brakes for the patrol cars. I bet he puts used ones on them to save money.
