    SRX Series

The SRX series was at Eldora this past Saturday night and the action was hot. Tempers flared and the cars got used up and most of them will need new body panels for the next race this Saturday night. If you missed it you can watch it here Tony Stewart won the first heat. Marco Andretti shocked everyone winning the 2nd heat. Tony Stewart won the main Feature after passing local racer Kody Swanson and Paul Tracy who led the most laps. Bill Elliott got a new car although they did find the gremlin in his other car from the previous two races but they wanted to give him a new one just in case any issues popped up. This race was the most watched too date with 1.38 million viewers tuning in. It almost matched Saturday's Pocono cup race on NBCSN and beat both Xfinity and Truck series races on NBCSN and FS1 respectively. Main Feature results 1 Tony Stewart 2 Kody Swanson 3 Helio Castroneves 4 Marco Andretti 5 Paul Tracy 6 Scott Speed 7 Tony Kanaan 8 Ernie Francis Jr 9 Willy T Ribbs 10 Michael Waltrip 11 Bobby Labonte 12 Bill Elliot

Roush Fenway Racing allegedly told it's partners and investors that the deal with Brad Keselowski is a done deal https://www.jayski.com/2021/06/25/report-brad-keselowski-to-roush-fenway-with-ownership-role/ neither RFR, Penske Racing or Brad Keselowski has confirmed it yet though. Nascar's uptick in tv ratings this season is over, Pocono saw the lowest viewership since races in the 2000 season.

Hobie's white lightning has a bit of a (hiccup) kick lol took me a day to recover. This past weekend was the Pocono doubleheader. Saturday's race the Hendrick brigade dominated. It looked like Kyle Larson was going to win his 5the consecutive race until his left front tire blew going into turn 3 on the last lap which gave Alex Bowman his 3rd win this season and Hendrick Motorsports 6 consecutive wins and 9 wins total so far this season. Top 10 1 Alex Bowman 2 Kyle Busch 3 William Byron 4 Denny Hamlin 5 Ryan Blaney 6 Kurt Busch 7 Joey Logano 8 Kevin Harvick 9 Kyle Larson 10 Brad Keselowski Race 2 ended up being a fuel mileage race. Kyle Busch had transmission issues that left him with only 4th gear which turned out to be a good thing for fuel mileage since he didn't down shift in the turns. His car handled superbly which allowed him to run almost as fast as the leaders who ran out of fuel. Top 10 1 Kyle Busch 2 Kyle Larson 3 Brad Keselowski 4 Kevin Harvick 5 Bubba Wallace 6 Ryan Blaney 7 Alex Bowman 8 Ryan Preece 9 Tyler Reddick 10 Joey Logano This weekend Nascar heads to Road America with Xfinity and Cup and some Cup drivers will also run in the Trans Am race there this weekend as well. Both races will be on NBC stations.
  4. Fitbits work great now that they put out a software update. Mine said I did 20,000 steps today while mowing, though that might be a bit off as no electronic pedometer will be 100% spot on. On the way home this afternoon I took a shortcut through a nearby neighborhood thinking it would be safer than the main road after an incident I had yesterday with a jerk in a work van. It was until I came across a few hooligans recklessly riding ATV's doing donuts in the street. The one took off down a side street and the other two about ran into the side of my car as I drove past. Hooligans like this have become a problem in the inner city lately, even blocking traffic for their stupid stunts, and now it looks like they've spread out to the suburbs. I'll never forget the motorcyclist I seen on the road with his head split open. My grandma chewed my grandpa out for taking me over to the accident scene. The cop took me over to the body and said "that's why you should wear a helmet when you ride you're bicycle." I don't remember how young I was at the time though, 6 or 7 I think.

Jeff Gordon is leaving the broadcast booth to become Vice Chairman/2nd in command at Hendrick Motorsports https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2021/06/23/jeff-gordon-named-hendrick-motorsports-vice-chairman/ he will do the rest of his Fox contract duties till the end of the year. Wonder who they will get to replace him. Dale Earnhardt Jr is locked into a multi year deal with NBC and to be honest he's really not good at calling the races. Chase Elliot's 13th place finish at Nashville has been disqualified, for of all things , 5 loose/missing lugnuts. Chase vented his frustrations on Twitter with a pretty good observation that if the wheel would have come off and he wrecked he would have been able to keep his points. I can understand DQ'ing because of skirting the rules on the car but for too many loose lugnuts is absolutely absurd. Just when I think Nascar Officials have done the most ridiculous thing they do something else even more crazy.
  6. Had a good birthday yesterday. Went to a park to watch the sunrise and see what creatures were out early, mostly red winged blackbirds but the surprise was fish swimming in the ditch that goes through the park. Never seen fish in there before. Then went mini golfing, flipped the rules to most strokes wins my putting was way off lol. Only complaint is I took advantage of Amazon Prime day and had a local Best buy match the price on a pair of Fitbits but apparently Fitbit is having a software issue at the moment so they're basically $60 paperweights at the moment. If they don't get the issue resolved in a week I'm returning them. On the weather front we were in a drought locally but the almost 3 inches of rain we got Sunday night-Monday morning really soaked the ground. Our tomato's shot up a few inches taller already.
  7. It was the new box set that only takes up about 3 of the original Season release DVD sets on a shelf, and yes 'sanitized' with no confederate flag artwork.
  8. The new box set is on sale for the cheapest price ever $49.99, that's just 35cents an episode. it's part of the Amazon Prime day sale and it ends in 8 hours or whenever it sells out https://www.amazon.com/Dukes-Hazzard-Complete-Repackaged-DVD/dp/B08DC69DDK?ref=deals_primeday_deals-grid_slot-6_1329_mw_dcell_img_96_d5cdd67c

    SRX Series

SRX series was on the dirt at Iowa's Knoxville Raceway. Tony Stewart dominated winning the first heat race and main Feature Race. Indycar stars Marco Andretti and Helio Castroneves seemed giddy as kids playing in the mud racing on dirt first time since they began they're racing careers. Helio would have finished 2nd in one of the heat races if he didn't get the laps mixed up at the end. Michael Waltrip was a strong contender despite not racing on dirt for well over a decade if not two. Bill Elliott's car suffered another similar malfunction in this race as at Stafford. Paul Tracy and Michael Waltrip played bumper cars again. The third race this Saturday night should be interesting between those two. Main Feature results 1 Tony Stewart 2 Hallie Deegan 3 Ernie Francis Jr 4 Helio Castroneves 5 Michael Waltrip 6 Bobby Labonte 7 Marco Andretti 8 Brian Brown 9 Scott Bloomquist 10 Willy T Ribbs 11 Bill Elliot 12 Paul Tracy

Ricky Stenhouse Jr also had a good race racing in the top 10 all day and finishing 6th. Top 10 1 Kyle Larson 2 Ross Chastain 3 William Byron 4 Aric Almirola 5 Kevin Harvick 6 Ricky Stenhouse Jr 7 Daniel Suarez 8 Kurt Busch 9 Christopher Bell 10 Joey Logano

I don't know. He currently has a minority stake in the team. There's talk of Rick Hendrick semi-retiring and Jeff Gordon could kind of fill that role.
  14. Apparently the Neighbors section of the Ring app is useless now. I posted about what I seen last night to alert nearby neighbors and it got removed. Reason given to me was "We are changing what content is allowed in this section due to feedback from users. Previously this content was allowed but it is not now." I wondered why nearby neighbor notifications about anything besides "fireworks noise being mistaken for gunshots" dropped off a cliff the past few weeks. Used to get at least one 'suspicious activity' notification a day from nearby neighbors, now barely see one in a week or two. I feel for them too. Just because of a few bad apples that shouldn't have been cops to begin with, all of them get villified.
  15. Might have witnessed a burglary tonight. Was chatting with a neighbor and noticed this guy park his old S10 and walk around the parking lot then leave. 5 minutes later he comes back parks next to my car walks to an apartment building clear across the parking lot. Then we hear dogs barking and see him running with a full garbage bag jump in his truck and take off. I called the police but the operator almost made it sound like I was calling on an innocent person. "What makes you think he's doing something?" "What's wrong with parking there and going to another building?" Think next time I'll just see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil unless it happens to a neighbor I know.

    NASCAR news

Kyle Larson won his 3rd consecutive race last night at the All Star Race in Texas. This is his second All Star Race win. Hendrick Motorsports 4 cars all finished in the top 10 as did Penske's 3 cars. Top 10 1 Kyle Larson 2 Brad Keselowski 3 Chase Elliot 4 Joey Logano 5 Ryan Blaney 6 Alex Bowman 7 William Byron 8 Aric Almirola 9 Kyle Busch 10 Kurt Busch Now onto the latest rumors... Jeff Gordon might be leaving the broadcast booth for a bigger role at Hendrick Motorsports. Kurt Busch seems to be a hot commodity in the silly season. Both 23XI Racing and Track house racing have contacted him to drive a second car next season. Kurt says he will wait to hear from Chip Ganassi first before beginning talks with another team. Brad Keselowski and Roger Penske are keeping mum on Brad's plans for next year. Though if I was a betting man I'd say Brad is going to move to RFR for 2022.

    SRX Series

Tony Stewart and Ray Evernham's SRX series kicked off Saturday night at Stafford Motor Speedway. It started off non dramatic as all the driver's where feeling out the cars. Greg Biffle led all the laps and won Heat 1. Heat two saw a lot more action and the local "superstar" Doug Coby win after passing Michael Waltrip who led most of heat 2. The Main Feature Race action got even more intense with several passes and bumping and moving. It was also won by the local guy Doug Coby who dominated from lap 65. Main Feature Race Results 1 Doug Coby 2 Greg Biffle 3 Tony Stewart 4 Helio Castroneves 5 Bobby Labonte 6 Ernie Francis Jr 7 Tony Kansas 8 Willy T Ribbs 9 Paul Tracy 10 Marco Andretti 11 Michael Waltrip 12 Bill Elliot. There were a few hiccups but they had a few backup cars to keep all the driver's in the race. The pace car was awesome, 1934 Ford coupe. The engine sounds reminded me of Nascar from the 90's. This Saturday night they'll be at Knoxville Raceway.
